A Dis meet, loopy luau, and 1900 PF fight all on our June trip~plus more!'10 PTR link

OH NO!! NOT rain, on your luau!!!

Maybe that's what you meant by a "loopy luau"!?

I'll be glued to my computer until I find out how this turns out!!

I love your trip report. It sucks that when you wanted to do something it always rained. Especially Characters in Flight. Maybe if you don't think about doing it it wont rain or get shut down ;). Also it sucks when you said that when you were going on IASW someone puked (ewwwww gross!) Other than that you guys looked like you were having (as the theme would go)...."THE TIME OF YOUR LIVES!" Keep on posting xoxoxoxox

Great update :)

That darn balloon, I wonder if you will get to ride it.

I had to awww when I read the part about the little girl on the bus, she sounds v cute.

Whats the deal with AI? Do you sit there and listen to people perform and then vote for them? Must try this out when we next go.

VOTLM is such a cute show and I love the film (Is DF's fav but don't tell him I told you). Your pics take me back to when we first saw it :)

I hope it didn't rain. Looking forward to your next instalment :)

I loved reading about your trip... I think this is quickly becoming my favorite forum! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to take Juliana on the VOTLM! We have been avoiding this because we heard it was dark and could be scary for a 2 year old.

I hope it didn't rain

our your Luau!!!!

The only part that could be scary is when Ursula is fighting and then Eric kills her. But if Juliana knows that part of the movie and is prepared for it, she'll do fine!

Aw, that's such a cute lil' rain cloud! You'll just have to wait and see...:thumbsup2

Thanks so much for enjoying my TR!

It did stink to miss the balloon!

Actually, it was BTMRR where someone puked in line. It was horrible since that line doesn't give you much room to move!

Ugh, I've given up on that balloon!

That little girl was SO cute! We saw her another day too, but she didn't get on our bus.

The American Idol Experience is a lot like the show. You sit and each contestant comes out and performs and then you get to vote using the buttons on the arm of your chair. It's so much fun.

Haha, I won't tell him you told me!

Thanks so much!

Just getting caught up. I've been MIA lately so I've missed a couple of your updates. It's nice that you are able to get on so many rides at the MK during EMH. I would have gagged if I had been in line w/ you on BTMRR.

The picture of you & your B/F before the luau is so cute. Hope you don't get rained on. :goodvibes

We love evening EMH's at the MK!

Ugh, it was horrible in that line! :guilty:

Thanks, I love that pic of us too!

You need to get on the ball and post your next installment.... We are all waiting very patiently for your update!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

American Idol looks like so much fun!! Good luck with all the back to school stuff. This summer fly by way too fast, ugh.

Day 8: Saturday, June 27 *continued*

We left off leaving the room to catch a bus to the MK…

I was getting nervous because the dark clouds were getting closer. As we were getting on the bus around 5:15, it started raining. I was staring out the window, praying that the rain would go away. Mom, Dad, Sis, and B/F were laughing at me because I guess I looked pretty mad. LOL.

But…as we got to the MK, the rain began to stop! YAY! We got off the bus, waved ‘Hi’ to the Castle, and walked up the ramp to the Resort Monorail. When we got off at the Poly, I went to the gift shop on that floor to buy B/F’s sister a Tinkerbell frame I had seen there the last time we were at the Poly. Then, we headed over to the bar by Ohana to get some drinks. We found two tables by the window and as soon as we sat down, a waitress came over to take our orders. B/F and I already knew what we were getting: Lapu Lapu’s!:

We set them down on the table and I took a pic on my cell to send to xoktenox. I told her she HAD to try one because it was SO GOOD. Our drinks also came with spoons to scoop out the leftover pineapple after the drink was all gone. The pineapple was so good too!

After we were done with our drinks, it was time to head down to Luau Cove and check-in. We stopped at the beach along the way:

B/F and Sis were too busy messing around in the sand to pose with me:

You can see the Castle better in this up-close pic:

After we checked-in, we got in line to take our family pic:

Sorry, I had to take this pic on my cell phone of this pic:

When we were done with that, we headed over to the bar stand outside the entrance to where we sit down and then got in line to go in:

Around 7:15, we got seated. We had a great table in the back, which was great when we had to get up and use the restroom! Our waiter soon came over and took our drink orders. Mom, Dad, B/F and I all got beer and Sis got iced tea. After he brought out our drinks, he brought us coconut bread and salad, which has a mango poppyseed dressing. One of our two favorite things to eat at the Luau! Finally, it was 8 o’clock and the show was starting!

We’ve been to the Luau so many times that I know all the words to all the songs. HAHA. They always start the show with my favorite song, “Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride”, which is also from the movie ‘Lilo & Stitch’! And then…..that’s when the Luau started getting loopy!

Every time our waiter would come around to our area, he would bring each of us another glass of beer, which was free because the drinks are included with the price of the tickets for the show, so we weren’t complaining. LOL. Soon it was time for the main course, which is always great with veggies, pineapple, BBQ pork ribs, roasted chicken, and rice. I can’t tell you how many refills we got on the ribs and rice! It was SO good, as usual.

I also have to add that the Luau was probably both of my sets of grandparents favorite thing about our 2001 Christmas trip. They still talk about everything they remember when we show them pics when we come home from trips. With that being said, we HAD to take a pic of the Luau guys for the grandmas, HAHA:

Sis and Mom enjoying the view, LOL:

While we were eating and enjoying the show, Dad’s phone started ringing and he had to leave the Luau area and answer it. It was the manager of one of our stores letting Dad know that there were bad storms going on back home and our town lost power, which was bad for the store. Dad and the manager figured out what to do and then Dad made his way back to the table just in time for dessert……VOLCANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yes. I had been waiting for my volcano since 2007, when our Luau was cancelled due to rain/storm!

When we were done eating our dessert, we snuck out of the show when they started the last song. We wanted to make it to the beach in time to watch Wishes, which was another thing I had read about on the DIS and HAD to try it. We sat on the chairs which were right behind me in that pic of me and the palm tree before we checked-in to the Luau! We started laughing about sneaking out of the Luau because we were quite loopy by this point. We made Sis promise us that she would be our “designated walker” and help us get to the monorail and to the bus. LOL.

We only had to wait 5 minutes for Wishes to start, so it was perfect t timing! I took a pic of the show on my cell phone and sent it to xoktenox, who then sent me a pic of her drink at Applebee’s, which was where she was. She said that her and Chris both loved the pic, so I’m glad I made their night.

Here’s some pics. Sorry they are blurry, it was hard to take pics and enjoy the show at the same time, HAHA:

Ahh..it was gorgeous. Such a great view from that beach! After the finale, we all started clapping, including everyone that was around us. It was truly a great, memorable WDW moment.

We headed to the monorail and rode it over to the MK. Then, we headed to our bus stop and there was a bus sitting there waiting for us! We got on and waited a few more minutes for others to get on before leaving.

As we rode back to OKW, I replayed the night in my head. We finally made it back to the Luau, which is something very close to us. We watched Wishes from a brand new place, which was exciting to do after seeing Wishes about a thousand times over. And I said to myself, “I’ll never grow old of this place.”

~Up next: Epcot Day and we make it to an Annual Passholder Preview!

HAHA...maybe it was because someone was a little tipsy...while trying to take pics AND watch the show at the same time. LOL

No they didn't have music where we were at. But, it was still a great view no matter what!

Haha, yes Sis was definately our designated walker!

I had so much fun watching it from the beach.

What a perfect night! I love the picture of you on the beach. Yep that's the drink I have a picture of my son drinking at 'Ohana's. I've never done the Luau but your update really makes me want to try it. I love pork. While ya'll were watching Wishes on the beach we were in the park watching it.

I really want to do the Luau now!! I want one of those drinks too!! Yeah I definitely think those pictures are blurry because someone was a little tipsy! ;) Sounds like fun!! Was your sister a good designated walker!? Hehe, I like that, I think I'll use that sometime!

Aww what a great night! Love the family picture. So cute.

Wishes on the Poly beach is the best!!!
