Day 5: Wednesday, June 24
We woke up around 8:45 a.m. It didnt take us long to get ready since today we were just heading to the pool. We ate breakfast on the balcony and when we were done, the family of ducks were down on the grass, so we fed them some bread.
B/F and I were all ready before Sis was, so me and him headed to the pool. From the pics on our balcony, the quiet pool may look like its far away, but really, the walk wasnt bad at all! Not too long after we got there, Mom, Dad, and Sis showed up. Before Mom got in, she had to take pics of the pool. The building in some of the pics is the restroom/laundry room area:
Heres our little friend on the chairs at our table:
We were the only ones there for awhile!
The pink balcony in the background on the top floor is ours!:
Another little friend:
Then, Sis, Mom, and Dad were hungry, so we headed to the bus stop. We hopped on the first bus to come and got off at the Hospitality House. While they grabbed something for lunch, B/F and I got in the main pool:
When they were done eating, they came and found us:
And we walked back to the room. I love this view from the bridge:
We got ready and headed to the bus stop for DHS around 1:20 p.m. First thing we did when getting to DHS was head to ToT. Dad cant ride this one either, so he said hed look through the shops until we called him. The wait time said 20 minutes, so we thought Yes! We did good! But then we stopped in one spot for a long time. We realized this and thought that couldnt be a good sign. Then, someone comes over the speakers saying that ToT was having technical difficulties and they didnt know when itd be running back up.
People started getting out of line, but we werent going to give up that easily. I texted
xoktnox telling her what was going on. She kept me entertained for awhile while we sat in our spot. After about 45 minutes, they got it running again! Yay! By this time, there werent very many people in front of us, so in our car there was a group of 3 people and another couple with us. It was freaky not having a full car! I was praying the whole time though that it wouldnt break down while we were on it. But it didnt! I love the view when they open the doors. Its even cooler at night! And I found a Hidden Mickey on the ride! If you want to know where its at
just tell me!
We got off and called Dad. He had heard people talking about ToT breaking down and was hoping that we werent on it when it happened. Do you know how much of a nervous breakdown I wouldve had if that happened?! Ugh. That would NOT have been good. Haha.
We looked through some of the shops along that street. I found some really cute Cars bath toys for the little guy and knew he had to have them! By the time we were done buying that, it was almost time for our 4 p.m. ADR at Mama Melrose! We headed over there and got in a bit early! Woo! The lobby was packed with people though, so that made us nervous about the wait.
Here we are at the table:
Our table was seated next to a window that looked out to a huge mural of Kermit the Frog! I loved the Muppet Babies growing up so that made me smile. Mom and Dad ordered the steak, B/F had the chicken flatbread, and Sis and I had the penne alla vodka. I added shrimp to mine.
I had to text
xoktnox the whole meal because of our little inside joke about our old waiter, which I saw that night and she and Chris had seen him when they were there too.
And here is my yummy dessert, Tiramisu!:
Of course,
xoktnoxs Chris spells it terramesu, so however youd like to spell it. Haha.
After we were done eating, you pretty much had to roll us out of there we were so full! Since we were over by Streets of America, we decided to head to the Backlot Tour next. The wait was only 20 minutes, which went by really fast. While we were standing in line watching the movie about the making of Pearl Harbor, a CM comes up to us and asks us if we want to participate in the water/boat part that they do before you get on the ride. We kindly declined. Were not too big on tons of people watching us, especially doing something crazy like that! Were happy watching someone else! Finally, we made it on the ride:
After we got off the ride, we walked through the warehouse with all the displays. Okay
some of you may make fun of us for this, but Sis and I love HSM!
When we left the Backlot Tour, we decided just to walk by TSM for the heck of it and see how long the wait time was. 90 minutes! Yikes! We decided to skip it, because it really did look like 90 minutes long. Heres a pic leaving that area:
Next, we decided to do One Mans Dream.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love this one and Im sad that so many people just walk by and skip this. Its truly amazing and such a great experience to look at Walts life and the creation of
Disneyland and WDW. Towards the end of it, there were some new displays about MGM when it first opened. Heres a picture of the wall thing they had above a display case:
~Up next: Rest of our DHS night with evening EMHs and the craziest thing I've ever seen in line!
