A Dining Pre-Trip Report? Sure! LIVE report now completed!

:worship: This is AWESOME!!!!! I am so in for this.

I am so glad to see where I can get these famous Zebra Domes that I have never had but are a must for the honeymoon. I will be stopping by Mara when we go to Jiko too cool.:dance3:

Keep it coming!:yay:

Great updates so far! I like your style - the cheeseburger pic (and your description) was the best! Can't wait to hear and see more!!

Hope you're having a great time!!! :goodvibes

Great start!!! Can't wait for more!

Thanks!

Just added to my To-Do List: increase :rotfl2: alcohol tolerance before desserting at Boma.

Oh...how I wish I were the Tag Fairy for THAT one!!! :rotfl:

YUM YUM YUM!!! Your 10 day report will get me even closer to my culinary overindulgence trip... 34 more days 34 more days 34 more days.....

Oh and Dh wonders if I ever get sick of looking at food :rotfl2: :lmao:

Never!!!!

Loving this report. And I'm very excited that you can get 5 zebra domes as a snack credit at Mara. We have 52 snack credits and are staying at AKL, I wonder how many of them I will end up using on those?

I plan to use at least one more ;)

:goodvibes Wow! What a trip report - just what I need to get me into the right mood (;) as if I haven't been for a long time) for our trip in 25 days.
Thanks for the great report!!

:flower3: Greetings from Austria!!

Thanks! Enjoy your planning! And safe travels from Europe! Greetings to YOU from WDW (and Wisconsin!)

Okay you are starting to make me aware that I am souped obsessed (although it is to warm to make it). MMMMMM carrot soup. I even told my mom yesterday Boma has the best soups....and now the Zebra Domes. I think I am going to be making soup weekly when I returnn in October.

I hear you! I didn't realize that I have had 3 different soups in here in only 2 days. My favorite is definitely the carrot ginger. (The recipe is on allears, btw!)

Wow ... what devotion to fellow DISers when you share the food experiences while you are still there.

Loving the report. I am still not convinced if I would like Boma or not, it is such a new experience in food and though there are lot's of pictures it all comes down to taste.

Thanks for the "on the scene" reporting !!!!

My pleasure! It is a great way to spend the afternoon downtime today while it feels like 99 degrees out there.

Yup... you and I are going to get along just fine! :rotfl:

Another great update. Keep 'em comin'. popcorn:: BTW- how are you finding the crowds in the parks?

Not nearly as bad as I thought...TONS of the tour groups but so far most have been really well mannered and not loud. I was dreading July and find it really is rather nice! (We're used to Thanksgiving and right after and early May)

Great report. We have never been to Cape May or Boma before. We might have to try them.

Two family Must Do's for us!

I just added Zebra domes to my "must get" list of snacks! I'm so excited to be staying at AKL. Looking forward to more...I'll be living vicariously through your husband as far as BBQ eating on this trip.

I love AKL - we spent 4 nights there in a DVC studio last November and it was wonderul.

Loving your live report:goodvibes
The carrot ginger soup at Boma looks great!:thumbsup2
Enjoy your trip!:wizard:

Thank you - it was divine!

Good luck! Really enjoying your reports, thanks for taking the time to share.:goodvibes

Thanks!

I'm enjoying your live food reviews!!! Can't wait for more. We're hoping to stay at the Beach Club next April, so I really enjoyed the Cape May reviews as I'm thinking we'll probably do dinner there once during our trip.

Hope you enjoy having your entire family with you. We've done trips with just us and with a large group. Having a large group of family members with you is certainly enjoyable, to a point. But at least you don't have EVERYTHING planned together and are at different resorts. That will make your time together even more enjoyable (knowing that you can always leave when you want to).

Can't wait to hear about your food adventures for today!!!

You will love the Beach Club - it is truly one of my favorite places in the world. We are taking a veg in the room right now while my BIL and fam are on their way on the ME bus. Hope this trip goes well!!

Great reviews and what a great SC the zebra domes are!

Those KK's looked delicious, I love the chocolate cream filled ones, must find that Walmart in August :rotfl:

I love those too...

OK, you had me at Oreo Bon Bons umpteen posts ago! :lmao: I had NO idea where the Cape May Cafe was, but HAD to find out because anything that combines Oreos with anything peaks my interest. ADD in the word, Bon Bons and honey, I'm salivating as I make a note on my Things I Must Eat ;) list!! Now, after reading about Zebra Domes, OMG, I can hardly wait to get down there. Do I have to wait for 2 more weeks? While the rest of the family is riding some ride which I'm too chicken to do, I'll have to sneak away to some little spot to enjoy some Zebra Domes. MUST be a secluded little spot so as not to alarm strangers with my groans and grunts of ecstasy as I munch upon my little Zebras....OK, I'm getting carried away - but, hey, chocolate has it's way with me.:lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: You will not be disappointed!!!

:worship: This is AWESOME!!!!! I am so in for this.

Keep it coming!:yay:

Oh Jiko....my heart breaks that we won't be there this trip.....so good!

Great updates so far! I like your style - the cheeseburger pic (and your description) was the best! Can't wait to hear and see more!!

Hope you're having a great time!!! :goodvibes

HA! Thanks! I am rather fond of that photo too ;)

Awesome report and pictures!!!;)

Thanks!

DH and I were talking tonight and the question was "if one restaurant could be your kitchen...meaning, any time you wanted bfast, lunch, dinner or snack, you could have anything you want as long as it was on this restaurant's menu...which restaurant would it be?"

DH said Cape May. For me? Nowhere but Boma!

:lmao: I totally concur! The hummus, the soups, the pasta salad, the prime rib w/ mustard sauce, the chocolate mouse, the brioche french toast.... Yeah, I could eat there 3 meals day! :cloud9:

We stopped back for a veg in the room this afternoon and I downloaded some photos. Next we're off to SAB for a little swim before dinner!

My typing is a little off...I took a digger this morning at DHS and sprained my pinkie (honest...first trip ever to First Aid!) but I did get this lovely souvenir of my Inaguaral Trip there (which made me laugh out loud!).

July202008418.jpg

My dream come true wasn't the somersault landing on my back near the fountain at DHS, but close enough :rotfl:

(PLease note fancy bandaid on hand...there was a lot of blood too. Sigh.) P - if you're reading, I called you to whine earlier so that is why my number is on your cell. I'll try later - miss you!)

I didn't get any cartoon bandaids so in addition to the YOMD pin, I also got about 8 Mickey stickers. The CM's there were a lot of fun. :rotfl:

But then on to Toy Story Mania (AMAZING!!!!!!!!) and snacks during Indiana Jones:

Popcorn (with bucket for DS), room charge:

This stuff is like crack - it's addicting!!!!

Frozen Lemonade for DH on the counter where we bought them (snack credit for this)- he loved it:

July202008441.jpg

Salty and hot with cold and tart made a great snack (and could also describe my family, depending on the day :rotfl: )

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your pinkie!

Seriously though.....that popcorn is freakin amazing. I don't know what they do to it, but it's always perfect.

Popcorn and the frozen lemonade...that's perfection right there.

pixiedust: Here's some healing pixie dust for your insured hand!! pixiedust:

I can almost smell that popcorn!! Sooooo yummy!! :goodvibes

A quick photo of the Krispy Kreme doughnuts that called my name when we were forced to wander into Walmart in search of disgusting toaster pastries for my niece and nephew (HATE Walmart as much as I love SuperTarget, but when SuperT is out of the right kind of Poptarts and DH needs a cherry limeade from the WM Sonic, what can you do?):

July19II030.jpg

I love every single gram of fat and sugar in these lovely cream filled chocolate covered beauties! Yay for tomorrow's breakfast!

I've been trying to wait until the end to post but I'm shocked that WM there has a Sonic. Boy do I feel slided. I might not mind going if ours had a Sonic. Good to see that I'm not the only one who can't stand Walmart.

Sorry about your hand. I LOVE this thread. Live reports are the best because everything is still so fresh in your mind.

Now I want to borrow a laptop for our trip so I can do a live trip report thread.

Ouch! Sorry about your hand! At least you have a good sense of humor about it. I would have sent DH off for an adult beverage to take the edge off. ;) Leave it to Disney to have special pins in First Aid to try to cheer the patients up. Have fun with your BIL and family!! So what's for dinner tonight? :)

Great updates. I tried Boma this Feb and didn't really care for the food however there were some things I loved the seafood soup was delish as was the hummus all 3 types , also the potatoes with afritude , of coursethe zebra domes YUMMMY!!

Great live report! Hope your pinky is healing and feeling better!! I just looovee Boma's too. I had to get Mara's hummus too. It's wonderful. When I was there in January, they had these homemade pita chips that were great with the humus. Yum! I also love Disney popcorn! Have fun, and can't wait to read more!!

We left MGM (DHS, whatever) around 12:30 and had decided to go to DTD to get some lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Then we decided that was INSANE and we should probably try something a little less crowded at lunchtime on a Sunday. So off we went to Artist Palette.

SSR ‘s registration area was crazy busy with guest checking in, but AP was relatively quiet. DS wanted fruit and ice cream and DH and I picked our meals to split and ended up using two CS credits for the three of us.

Pepperoni Flatbread Take One/Before Degreasing

Pepperoni Flatbread Take Two/After Degreasing (aka pressing a napkin to sap up oil)

July202008500.jpg

This was okay. The crust is super thin and crispy around the edges and soggy-ish in the middle. Not in a bad soggy, but a softer crust. The taste was fine.

Smith Stack Sandwich and Homemade Potato Chips:

DH and I each had half of this – here is the description – sortof like a muffaletta:

July202008488.jpg

The sandwich was good. I would have loved more olive salsa and a little less bread. I ended up taking the top piece of bread off and ate it like an open faced sandwich. It was something new and different and we both liked it.
The chips were mostly very good – not greasy at all – and I dipped mine in Ye Olde Ken’s Honey Mustard sauce.

DS made his lunch meal out of our CS desserts – he is the one who eats yogurt and fruit every morning so of course I let him have ice cream for meals. He had a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich, because it was good. Then I picked out strawberries and whipped cream, because he loves strawberries and they are healthy. He loved both of his desserts (the whipped cream was basically Cool Whip) and we split the diet coke I had and DH had a Sprite. LOVE that you can get bottles with the CS meals!
