So my DW and I took a vacation back to my hometown of Chicago, this past week. The major stop was to the Museum of Science and Industry, as I spyed that the special exhibit was D23 Presents: Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives.

This exhibit is only around for a few more weeks, if that, but if in the Chicago area, HEAD ON OVER!!!!!!!!

We had a complete blast. The vibe was reminiscent of One Man's Dream in DHS. There are more artifacts here, than I believe One Man's Dream holds...as a big Disneyphile (aren't we all on this website?!) I didn't learn too much more, although it was nice to see artifacts of things I have read about. My wife learned a few nuggets of info. They have some truly special Disney artifacts worth checking out, if you have the chance, and we are also suckers for the Animation Academy, where animators take you through the process of drawing a Disney character (same process as DHS, without the desk (they give you a large clipboard)). If you love the AA as much as we do, take advantage, unlike in DHS, they invite you to stick around to draw additional characters...in fact you can take as many classes as you wish! We only did one, but it was Donald (my favorite classic character) so I was satisfied.

Once again, if in Chicago, and feeling like satiating your Disney obsession, and care to stomach the $20 parking, $27 entrance + special exhibit fee....live it up! We certainly had a magical time!

Sounds great! I'm hoping to head there this Saturday! How long do you think you spent at the exhibit? I'm trying to figure out how much time to plan for.

Ah I'm sorry, I just now saw this! I spent about 2 hours in the exhibit, could have probably spent a bit more time, if it hadn't been so busy (was Good Friday and place was PACKED!!). If you didn't go, this will be useful. Also, I read they have extended the exhibit until first week of August!
