I have read through as many of the Magical Express questions as I could BEFORE posting this question - I truly apologize if it has already been asked:

When I arrive in Orlando, do I have to take a bus to my resort? We are staying at the Caribbean Beach, and arriving in Orlando at 6:30 AM. I figure there is no way our room will be ready. My thought was that we could take a Magical Express bus to Beach Club instead, and then have breakfast on the Boardwalk, before heading into Epcot.

Is this allowed, and what pitfalls am I not thinking about? :earsgirl:

I do not see why you could not do that, your luggage will be tagged for your resort, so taking a different bus should not pose a problem. After you check in at the ME counter there are lines for the buses for the different resorts, just get in line for the BC or the BWI if you want to go to the Boardwalk. Will you have carry on luggage? You may not want to lug it around the parks.
Even though your room may not be ready, you can still check in at your resort if you want to and have them hold your carry on luggage.

First off, you may be surprised to find your room ready. Perhaps CBR is not sold out for the day before, and perhaps there are people with early morning flights who had to check out early. When you check in at the DME counter, a computer message is sent to the resort telling them you will be checking in soon, and in turn CBR tries to accommodate you accordingly, so you have a better chance of getting a room early than someone who is taking a towncar or is driving themselves.

The previous poster mentioned your carry-ons, which is something you need to consider, as well. Are you going to want to drag them along with you at breakfast as well as at Epcot??? After you consider all this, you might decide it will be better to check in at CBR first. Even if your room is not ready, you will get your room key cards (which can later be activated electronically after a phone call). If you want charging privileges on those cards, you need to check in at CBR first. Also, will your park tickets be on your room key cards? If so, of course you'll need to go to CBR first. The other advantage to chacking in first is not needing to stop at the Custom House to actually check in once you do eventually arrive at CBR. You'd be able to go from Epcot directly to your room. Your luggage will be waiting for you in the room, and you can call in advance for your carry-ons to be delivered, as well.

If you decide to go to the Beach Club first, bell services there can store your carry-on baggage. However, that would mean you have to go back to BC to pick it up before going to CBR to check in. I'd go check in first, personally.

This may be an obvious question, but are your tickets tied to your room (as in a package?)
