A Different kind of Trip Report -- My DD's wedding (More Pix added Post #152)

What "sticky" and the price on UT for a 7 day is $394 so where is the savings? :confused3

Under the theme Parks category, there is a "sticky" titled "everything about WDW tickets" & it explains how to change & exchange tickets at WDW. It esplains the savings as well...Sorry to get OT, OP!
Debbie

I think the stickie is Figment's ticket FAQ on the Parks board.
The first poster got a greater savings by buying @ last years prices. But in addition UT's price includes taxes, WDW gate does not so you'd save a few extra percent. The UT 'trick' is to buy the most discounted ticket with a gate price lower than the DVC annual pass. It may or may not be a 7 day ticket..

The pp is correct, We bought the UT 7-day no expiration tix at last years price. When valued at the new prices and then compared to a DVC Ap, we saved about $60 per ticket.

The current savings are much less. There was a post somewhere where I posted all of my calcs for the revised prices. Of course, I can't find the thread. My calcs are on a different computer, but I will post them again. As I recall, the greatest savings now is closer to $25 or $30 per ticket. As prices change, the particular ticket you buy to save the most also can change.
If people are interested in this, I would recommend buying a UT ticket (subscribe to mousesavers to get a few more $$ off) just before the next increase, it is usually at the beginning of August.

MinnieGi , Thank you for your kind remarks. My DD and I have had some subsequent discussions with DVC and others regarding the BLT situation, and we have not reached a resolution yet. When we do conclude, I will post more info.

I thnk there may be more pictures coming soon.................

Thank you for taking time during your busy week to let us live your most precious moments.

I don't know about you Disers, but I've been married 18 years and wish I could have a "redo" at Disney. Same guy - just different venue! LOL.

Actually found your TR last night and read it through before going to bed.

First of all your daughter is gorgeous and she and her new husband look great together. May they be blessed with unlimited years of happiness together.

We were on the monorail headed back to MK from BLT on the 15th and we think we might have seen your wedding party leaving the Wedding Pavilion.

Second of all I am still seething for you and your family over what happened at BLT with mousekeeping:headache::headache::mad::mad:. What in the world would possess a mousekeeper to empty the fridge in a room BEFORE the 11:00am checkout time? Completely unexcusable.

We checked out on 12/18 but as we were getting dressed and finishing packing mousekeeping knocked on the door. DH told them that we wouldn't be leaving for a while yet and they left.

This was the first night we didn't have the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the knob. I second Sammies advice about using this tag. We had read that advice prior to our trip and used it every night except for the last one.

Again congrats on your DD's marriage and we hope all of the badness is turned magically around. :wizard:

We put out the Do Not Disturb sign every night even then at 9am on the day of check out, we got the hang up caller twice, once at 9am and once at 10am, I am sure it was Housekeeping. I really wish they had a way to call back the number, I would have so called and said NO we have not left, check out is at 11. :headache:

Loving the trip report thanks for sharing and do share more photos.

Thank you so much for posting your report and pictures. My daughter and I have enjoyed reading it. Your daughter and her husband look beautiful!! All the best to them!

I am sorry for what you had to go through with housekeeping.

My daughter, who is now 13, has been saying since she was 3 that she is getting married in DW. She really enjoyed reading this post about a DVC bride!

Thanks so much for posting this...I am planning on doing this in Jan &ahve never done it before, but thatnks to these Boards, found out about it. I will have to go back to the "sticky" & calculate it, so I know....And again, like everyone else, thanks for posting the pictures! I am loving it...Debbie

Someone this week was denied the ability to do this, Undercover Tourist is trying to get to the bottom of the situation, but it seems that maybe Disney has closed the loophole and this might not be allowed.

Here is an update on our discussions with DVC/WDW/DFTW regarding our "unfortunate incident" (see post #83):

After several calls and discussions, and an escalation to the executive team at DVC, they have decided to give my DD and my DSIL a several hundred dollar credit during their June trip to AKV. The new rhinestone cuffs appeared last week, the chocolate castle top should arrive at some point. The only item where a mutual resoultion seems difficult is the top cake tier. They have offered to re-make the top for my DD's June trip, but we are not happy with that resolution. It seems that they cannot find anyone to ship ot home, so it could be used for their 1st anniversary. Another call or two are in order to try to resolve this, but I thought you might be interested in our progress so far.

Again, thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts !!!

That had to be us at the WP. We were the only wedding there on the 15th.

So sorry this happened.

I would request that they let your daughter renew their wedding vows at the wedding chapel in June with the cake topper in the room with them! That way the topper would have more meaning to them...

I know there have been some requests for more photos and I am more then happy to oblige! These are a few more from our photographers, David and Vicki Ardnt. Hopefully, we will have a few more soon and I'll share those as well as soon as I get them! :)

Oh My they are all great. I would have a hard time choosing a selected amount if that was the case. Beautiful.

More beautiful pics - absolutely gorgeous!
I wouldn't be opposed to you sharing more!
Glad a resolution is coming along after what happened on check-out day.
