Hello fellow DISers and Restaurant Board readers! :wave2:

I really could use some assistance! My 180 day mark has come and gone and I still haven't sent my ADR requests into Polynesian IPO yet! :faint:

Instead of asking everyone which restaurants they DO like, I've decided to try something a little different! :scratchin

I'm going to list all of the restaurants that we plan on dining at. What I'd like you all to do is vote for any restaurants on this list(you can vote for more than 1) that you DON'T LIKE. And then please post here and tell me why you don't like it, whether it was bad food, bad service, or whatever.

Any restaurant with *** after it means that we've NEVER dined there before! As for the others, we've dined at all of those and had good experiences in the past, but want to check to make sure they're still good!

The purpose of this poll is so I can see if any of our current choices are not up to par, or have other negatives about them that I haven't thought of.

Thanks! :)

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I really don't like Jiko. I've eaten there twice. The first time I didn't really care for the food, but the service was very good.

The second time I ate there the food was still not that great, but the service this time was so unattentive.

We would pass on Mama Melrose because there is nothing on the menu my DS 11 will eat. (I just can't pay full adult price for plain pasta, no sauce or butter  )

I've eaten at about half of the restaurants on your list, and I would go back to all of them. I did have some service issues at Kona and Ohana (both were very slow), but neither was so bad that I wouldn't go back.

I understand exactly what you're saying! lol All of the above restaurants have already passed our "picky eater" test; in other words, each of the above restaurants have something on their menus that all of us would like.

I initially had 50's Prime Time on the list but then my DS16 reminded me that he HATES that place so I changed it to Sci-Fi Dine In because we all enjoyed lunch there the last time, and I think our 74-year old aunt would get a kick out of it too. :3dglasses

It's great to have to take so many different tastes into account, isn't it?? :rolleyes1

I picked Ohana and Mama Melrose. I want bread with my Italian food darnit! (and not as appy, tyvm!

SeaSpray, we have the same problem with 50's Prime Time :lmao: !

Since menus can change without warning, if a restaurant does not have 2 things on the current menu that each of us would eat, we pass.

I picked 'Ohana. We LOVE the Poly and both the Kona and 'Ohana were on our top 5 list until last trip.

In Sept. we had dinner there for the first time since the menu change. We had an open mind. It was bad.

The Wontons were yuk, cold and tasted like cold oil. The Steak was so chewy. I would have gladly paid a little more for a good cut of steak. To top it off, if you order drinks in 'Ohana or Kona, they get their drinks from the service bar, and they are no where near the quality of the lounge bar. My Lapu Lapu tasted like a kids sugar drink.

We have no want to go back and eat there. We had 2 excellent dinners there in the past. We loved the old menu, and the quality of food seems to have gone down now from our previous visits.

Kona is another one of our favorites that have changed their menu too. We loved the Kona chowder and Mahi Mahi, now they are gone!:sad1:

Lets just hope that some brainiac in management doesn't get the bright idea to change the Polynesian resort too.......to something like the Polkanesian, paradise in Poland!:rotfl: with Polka music playing and a polkanesian Luau:lmao:

I know I'm in the minority but I would pick both Citricos and Narcoosees. Citricos has too limited of a menu and the servers did not fit the ambiance. Narcoosees was like eating at a Red Lobster with inflated prices. Much better fish/seafood on property at other locations.

And then for counter service, I would rather die of starvation than eat at Pecos Bills again.

I picked Ohana. We enjoy (once a year) a place called"Fogo de Chao". It is Brazilian, but the meat is served much the same. The quality of Ohana's was a little disappointing because we were comparing it to Fogo's and well, there was just no comparison for us. That said, the atmosphere was very nice and the pineapple was the best! Melissa :goodvibes

OK you don't have this families ick restaurant, it is BOMA for us that gets 2 thumbs down!

Thanks for these comments! :) But I only listed restaurants that we're currently considering. We've had breakfast and dinner at Boma before and it was fine, but it's not on the list this trip. As for Citricos and Narcoosees, they don't fit in with our plans this time either. Thanks again for the replies though. :)

I did not enjoy Marrakesh on our last trip (dinner). My chicken was dry and I was surprised at the lack of flavor my dish had (chicken cous cous). The soup I had also lacked a lot of flavor. My DH thought his meal was so-so (beef kabobs). We won't be going back anytime soon.

The only restaurant I've tried that I don't like is Raglan Road. Had the worst fish and chips ever - undercooked, kind of soggy, and cold.

Wasn't impressed at all - but some people love this restaurant! Sometimes I think the chefs just have an "off day" -- I've read mixed reviews on most restaurants at WDW! I say, if the menu sounds interesting to you, give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Our choice was the Sci-Fi. This was my DS10's pick. I will say that I am glad that we ate there once so that we could experience the atmosphere, but we will not go back. The food was really not good. We went for lunch. Our hamburgers were very dry and I only managed to eat a few bites of it. There are very few places on property that we have completely ruled out as an option, but this restaurant is one of them. I realize that we could have just caught them on an off day, but it really doesn't seem worth the effort to try it again.

BTW, Kona is one of our absolute favorite places to eat. We usually eat there for both dinner and breakfast at least once per trip. We have never had a bad meal there. Good luck with your planning.

I chose Kona for lunch, and sci fi for lunch. AS for Kona, I just wasn't impressed with the food. Service was fine, but just wasn't impressed. Sci fi we had a horrible server, and the food was just so so. Not sure if or when we will go back again.

Personally do not like O'hana for dinner (love their breakfast through) or Mama Melrose.

Sci-Fi is good to us for lunch but we stick with the hamburgers and milkshakes.
