A different kind of poll: Please vote for the restaurants you DON'T like!

I picked Mama Melrose. Food was just not that good. Not even Olive Garden type food. Service was the worst of our trip. We were paying CASH for this meal, not using the DDP and the server knew it. Everywhere else we used the DDP and excellent service. I know that's the opposite of what many people think is going to happen...

I used to love Kona, but the last few times I've eaten there, the service has been mediocre at best and the food was barely okay. Same thing with 'Ohana. 'Ohana really irks me because I've had some really fun times there and was looking forward to sharing it with my dd and dh last August. The service was awful and the food was overly cooked and salty. Don't think I'll be eating at the Polynesian for a long time.
Sci-Fi is another one. I ate there, even after hearing a lot of bad reviews. Figured how bad could it be..it's just lunch. Well, we were seated in a car, third group to be seated for lunch. Another family was seated in front of us, although there were plenty of other 'cars' open..even one right in front of us. The woman in the seat in front of me kept swishing her very long hair around and it kept flying over my food. And my food? Well, my burger was a hockey puck, the onion rings were stone cold. My dd said her hot dog tasted strange. She was getting sick, which we realized about 3 hrs. later, so that could have had something to do with her funny tasting hot dog. I do have it booked again for lunch in Jan but that's because I'm taking my eldest dd to WDW for her first time ever and Sci-Fi is one of the few places she requested we try.

I have not been to all those resturants, but my least fav resturant on property is Mama Melrose. My wife and I have been there twice, each time we have recieved poor service. We both felt like we were bothering our waitress. Our water and soda was left unfilled for over ten minutes. Both times they didn't ask if we wanted desert. The food was below Olive Garden level.

Now, my wife likes Mama Melrose. Whatever.

We did not enjoy Kona Cafe. The portions were small and the childrens menu was very bland and limited.

Sci-Fi was awful. The food was under, or over cooked, too salty, and tasted really really cheap. The service was slow, and our waitress was rude. I'll never eat there again.

Kona is my FAVORITE restaurant.

We went to Kona for breakfast back in April and were very unimpressed. I had the Tonga Toast and didn't like it at all, which shocked me. DH thought his breakfast was very 'ok' too. Nothing special at all.

My pick was Sci-Fi as well. Mainly because of the seating arragement. As a family of 5 they don't work well for us. I don't like how you can't face each other.

Have to pile onto Sci-Fi as well. Service was slow, food, especially kids meals were bad (they wouldnt eat there burgers and not wanting them to go to waste I tried them, well they were definatley a different quality of meat than the adult burger, YUCK!), Thought the Onion rings were a joke, dollar each and they were small and cold. BLT soup was OK, but that was really just tomato soup with a little lettuce and bacon. Would not go back.

I'm not surprised at all to see that Sci-Fi and Mama Melrose's got a lot of votes because they continually get bad reviews here on the DIS. We have had lunch at Sci-Fi once before (we ordered burgers, fries, and shakes) and they were fine, and the kids enjoyed the atmosphere.

As for Mama Melrose's, IPO just emailed me back yesterday with all of my ADRs confirmation numbers, but the night that we wanted to eat at MM, there were no available times open. She told me that Studios is only open until 7pm on that evening, so now I'm wondering if we should just choose someplace else/different park.

50sPrime Time is OUT because my DS16 loathes the place. LOL I'm unsure of the Brown Derby. We had lunch there once and I wasn't overly impressed with it. I'm considering changing our itinerary so that we're in a different park that evening which would give me a choice of other restaurants. Also, if the park closes at 7pm, would there even be a Fantasmic! showing that night??

I am very surprised to see Marrakesh get so many votes! We've had lunch there twice and thought the food and service were great! Can those of you who voted for Marrakesh please tell me what you didn't like about it?? Thanks!

i haven't ate at Mama Melrose's yet, but we have ADR's during our next trip for dinner there.
Also, i dislike Boma's its loud, and the food has poor quality
i didn't think it was worth the wait. [we waited for 2 hours, when we had ADR's last christmas.]

We didnt like Ohana or Mama Melrose but the worst dining experience at Disney was Boma - went twice and twice it was awful. Raglan Rd should also get a special mention - minute portions, terrile service and entertainment that drove us out of the place!

I've had 2 experiences at Mama Melrose and enjoyed both of them. I will add that it wasn't very busy when we went so we didn't find issues with service in that way.
I don't think I've ever had a truely bad experience in any of the places you've mentioned. It's all a matter of taste.

No. Don't assume things like this.
I voted that I didn't like Ohana & Sci-Fi because I don't like them. My food at both places has been sub-par in the past and I will not give them any of my business again.

I chose Mama Melrose and the Sci Fi

Mama Melrose: Terrible, terrible service, DS got the wrong order twice and the waitress was very rude about it. I'm not talking about anything special. He ordered the steak dish she brought out a pasta, sent it back and he was brought eggplant. Waitress complained about him when we pointed out that that wasn't what he ordered either. Said she had other tables and he was being too picky. DD and I were finished long, long before his steak ever arrived. We were there over two hours, had to take our dessert to go b/c it was getting close to time for Fantasmic and the food was nothing to write home about. This is one of the only times I've ever left a bad tip. We also spoke to the manager.

Sci Fi: We've eaten here a couple of times but find the food really blah for the prices. Service was good though.

We don't eat at MGM anymore!
