a decision re: DVC... finally!

After wrestling the past couple of months-- should we or shouldn't we-- and then even worse-- BCV vs. BWV vs. OKW-- we finally reached a decision. Well, at least partially we have. I called our guide this morning (Randy Kruger-- who's been excellent, by the way) to go ahead with a 150 pt. purchase. As promised, we were still able to purchase at $75/pt.

Not all has been decided, though. We're still interested in doing a 150 pt. or so resale at either the "lively" BWV or the "palatial" OKW. We will be at the parks in about 3 wks (looking forward to those thin crowds and pleasant temps, I think my pregnant wife will especially enjoy!)-- while there, we'll go ahead and take the DVC tour and try to check out the resorts first-hand in hopes of furthering this decision. Kind of pathetic, but the only satifactory answer I could arrive at for should we buy "here or there" was "both."

all dvc resorts (wdw resorts for that matter) have free wheelchairs - please get one for your wife!!!

You have decided what you like - everyone (as you already know) has their own opinions. but I really think you will love the Beach Club Villas. The pool is the best, and I love having breakfast at the Cape May Cafe.

I think you're better off buying at OKW since BCV and BWV are across the way from each other so at least you'll be in a different area of the World.

So glad you were able to take advantage of the $75 per point at BCV. We bought a resale at OKW and a small add on at BCV before the price increase to insure we will be able to book there every 3 years. Have a great trip, congratulations, and let us know how the tour goes (I guess I am a little sad we bought without the tour).

Welcome home. Buying at two different areas is a good decision - it gives you the 11 month window at two resorts. I too would go for an OKW resale so you have points in two different areas - also a WLV resale may even be worth considering.

Initially, we had planned to-- our guide checked availability and found BWV 1br and OKW 1br or studio, and I believe VWL 1br was also available. But, anyway, we decided we'd bank our points for next year (and plan to visit at a more pleasant time) and keep our discounted ressie at PO-R for this time.
