A Day in the Life of AZ JazzyJ

5:45 AM – Fast asleep thinking of pins and trading during my upcoming visit to Walt Disney World in August. Life is good as I am making trade after trade for pins I want.
6:03 AM – wake up in a cold sweat out of breath as I just dreamed that I traded away a WDW Pin Trading Pin for a Toy Story Slinky Dog without a rear-end. Cannot go back to sleep.
6:05 AM – Go downstairs and begin gluing Where in the World is Arizona Jeff and Mean Laureen cards to the backs of Great Pin Adventure cards. Only have 200 left to glue.
7:35 AM – Trina comes down and yells that I have 15 minutes to get showered and dressed before we have to leave for the Hallmark Christmas Ornament Premiere. She startles me and I end up gluing a WIWI card to my pajamas.
8:02 AM – Arrive at Diane’s Hallmark to begin selecting Christmas ornaments. I am basket boy.
8:07 AM – Receive page from Laurie to make sure I buy Weinermobile Christmas Ornament because it is selling out in Virginia.
8:30 AM – Find out Trina left Hallmark Collector’s Club card at home so she cannot get her free ornament.
9:00 AM – Arrive home to pick up Trina’s membership card
9:10 AM – Halfway to Hallmark I remember that I forgot my driver’s license and have to go back home.
9:40 AM – Return to Diane’s Hallmark only to find out that they are out of the free ornament.
10:00 AM – Go to Hallmark Creations to search out free ornament. They of course are out of the ornaments but we did buy another ornament while we were there. Ate stale brownies and punch with pink scum on the top. Great breakfast.
10:30 AM – After not winning the Hallmark drawing, we leave and go to Kinko’s where Trina and I cut out another 120 lanyard cards for the Great Pin Adventure
12:00 PM – Pick up kids and take them to Millie’s Hallmark to look at ornaments and sign up for free drawings. Have 2 strawberries, a piece of cake, and brown punch with scum on the top (what is it with scummy punch and Hallmark). Still cannot find free ornament or stickers for Trina’s Hallmark Passport.
12:10 PM – Page Lauri asking for information on Hallmark drawings and ornament questions.
12:30 PM – Go to fabric store to pick up material for final 6 lanyards. Trina begins to lecture me on the number of lanyards that she has to make.
1:07 PM – Trina completes her lecture.
2:00 PM – Take Tiffany to the music store to pick out Oboe for school band that starts in a month.
4:15 PM – Stop at the mall and check Broughton’s Hallmark for free ornament and stickers for Trina’s Hallmark passport. Meet Forest Gump’s evil twin who is absolutely no help but stamps Trina’s card with a big ink stamp that smears all over. No food in Hallmark, I guess I am not having dinner tonight.
6:30 PM – Pick up mail and find two LBE with pins. Before I even get to open the envelopes to see what has arrived, Trina and the kids need a ride to the grocery store.
8:30 PM – Finally get home from grocery store to find 4 more people have signed up for the Great Pin Adventure bring the total attendees up to 188 so far. Made note not to tell Trina that anyone else is coming, at least no one who is looking for a lanyard.
9:00 PM – IM with Lauri to discuss Great Pin Adventure and Vince’s Pin Meet tomorrow. Give her a list of pins I am looking for and a synopsis of my day. She suggests several other Hallmark stores in the area that I can look for Trina’s ornament.
9:01 PM – Get large bottle of Tylenol to try and eliminate headache caused by hitting head on desk numerous times.
11:00 PM – Go to bed and pray that I don’t have any nightmares that involve trading WDW PTP or Hallmark stores.

Yet another arguement why my store is better to shop at.. we don't serve scummy punch.
Do you know how hard that stuff is to get out of the carpet after the 34th person spills a cup?

And in case anyone wonders.. these times actually are acurate.. I WAS paged at 12:10..lol!

What's a Hallmark Passport? What am I missing? We only went to one Hallmark Store yesterday. We bought five Disney Christmas ornaments & filled out the contest paper. Either I need a tree just for non-Christmas ornaments or Hallmark needs to put something Christmasy on the other Disney ornaments .

Jeff, I told you if you want the back half of the dog... You just need to finish the trade. the front was for the WDW PTP and the back is for the DL PTP...

Oh by the way... I got a ton of requests for your Lanyard from Disney people. Should I wait or do you want the 150 or so emails now???

Lauri, come to think about it I have not seen those LBEs since yesterday. I wonder if Trina hid them?

Judith, the passport was mailed to members of the Hallmark Collector's Club (which Trina is a card carrying member, more loyal than any NRA member I might add. I just pray they don't come out with a "You can pry my Hallmark ornament out of my cold dead fingers" bumper siticker).

Nat, thanks for the tip. I will try and work my way through my nightmares and let them play out before waking up screaming next time.

Oh, the woes of the dual collector.

I too received an invitation to some Hallmark ornament broo-haha.
Luckily, my people don't do ornaments.

I tossed the offer and continued to not work on my pins until 1 AM.

Well, I guess things are not all bad. We received a call this morning that Trina and our daughter Mallorie have both won ornaments at one of the Hallmark stores we visited Saturday. Of course that means Trina has to go to Hallmark again to pick up her prize. As long as I don't have to go with her, I guess it is a good day...
