I'm having hard time to figure out which to do, please help me decide. Let me know what you think which one is more fun for a 10 year DS and 11 year old DD. This is our first cruise and I really would like for them the best vacation/memories for them and doing both (Atlantis and Swim) is very hectic.
Please help...

I have been to Atlantis and believe me, it is beautiful, however, with the tour, you won't be able to appreciate it all.

I have also done the Dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon, and loved it! I think you should do the dolphin swim!

I have debated on this same situation and came up with a room at the Comfort Suites and taking my 5yr and 2yr old to the Aquarium. Its Slower paced and I don't have to worry about the encounter or swim taking too long.

Going this afternoon to AAA office in person. Hoping for some brochures or something on Atlantis. Can't get that kind of stuff when you book online. The site is still showing a room for 156.00 hope thats what they have at the office.

I have not yet done the Cruise, but I have been to the Atlantis in the Bahamas and done the Dolphin Swim at Blue Lagoon.

I'm not a huge fan of the Bahamas. Spent a week there. After three days of being outside of Nassau had to check into the Atlantis to cure me of my boredom. It's very nice there (food is ridiculously priced, even by Disney standards.) They automatically put a 15% gratuity on your bill even when you buy a bag of chips at the pool bar. There are some great things to do there BUT the day before I left the Bahamas I did the Dolphin Swim. I'm a certified chicken when it comes to water stuff, but I had to do the dolphin thing. It's a good thing we didn't do this earlier in the trip because I would have wanted to do it every day that I was there. It was amazing.

If you don't want to do a full swim they do a meet and greet with the dolphins where you stand on a platform and get to play with them. It's not as long as the swim, and costs less money. But is just a different option if you don't want the full swim. Either way HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!!

Never been to Atlantis, but we did the dolphin encounter in Cozumel with ds11 and we all loved it! If your kids have the opportunity to go to water parks and aquariums, they may appreciate the opportunity to do something totally different.

We just got back from a 4 day wonder and we rented a room at the comfort Suites. It was great!! It is a short walk to the Atlantis and when you get to the towel shack at any of the pools you get a wristband just like the people staying there. We enjoyed all of the pools and slides. The best part was going back to our room and all of us taking a shower and relaxing before going back to the ship for our early seating. Make sure when you get off the ship to tell the taxi to drop you off at the Comfort Suites or they will try to drop everyone off at the Atlantis. This was cheaper than the Disney excursion which gave you no access to the pools or water slides.

We initially wanted to do the dolphin swim and were unable to get it so we did Atlantis instead. It was o lot of fun. The beach was beautiful. you will get the local people trying to sell beads and beach wraps which you won't get at Castaway Cay.
