Hey everyone. Been a while since there has been on of these. Well its back and its a good one. Despite the rain, we had a great time all around. Hope you all enjoy...
Well the day started early for me as I had to some errands to run. Was up at the unearthly hour of 9:30am
(on a weekend at least) and did what I had to do. There were tons of people on the road due to tax free shopping ending the next day. Was home by noon. My fiance was up and ready to go
So off we go. We brought our bathing suits just in case as we weren't sure of the weather. It hadn't rained yet, but it was in the forcast. Just as we are pulling on property, the rain starts
. We decide to go to the DVC Welcome Center as we have a pass for an opne tour. Park at the Boardwalk and the rain stops.
Of course. So we go in and are given nametags and offered a drink. We sit and wait for our guide. Now we were told there is No Pressure to buy. We explained our situation to the people who gave us our pass. They said "No Problem" Well we find out that if you don't buy within 30 days of your tour, you lose alot if not all your perks...
This did not make us happy. We also were not told about dues. We accepted our free tour gift( 2 Fast Passes: We chose Test Track and Space Mountain) and left. As we were walking back to the car we went over what we had just learned and reliezed it just wasn't for us. Oh well. Maybe next time. We head to Downtown Disney when it begins to rain again.
We decide to see what Typhoon Lagoon is looking like instead. WOW!!!
Look at all the people. We turn right around and park at Downtown. We walk to the bus and as soon as we arrive, So does the bus going to Swan, Dolphin, Yacht and Beach. We get on and ride to the Beach Club. We get off and walk through to the Boardwalk(weren't we just here???)And guess what....Yep. It starts raining again...
We walk into EPCOT and immeadiatly into a shop. We browse around hoping the rain will stop. It doesn't. We walk under cover of tree to England where we proceed to walk into.....Yet another shop. Fuuny bit in these shops. We were browsing around with others when we heard a distincly UK accent. Turned it was not a CM. It was a few tourists from the UK complaining about the prices of the tea and candys from their home country...tooo funny.
I break down and join the masses and buy a poncho. I don the ugly yellow thing and the rain slows down
As we walk around the world we take notice of the new food stand offering up McDonalds food and stopped at the store so fiance could buy umbrella. I got ripped off. The one person black umbrella was $9. Nice one too.
Oh well. I already have an umbrella. I just forgot it into the car...
We walk to Test Track and it is just about time for our 5pm FP. We get there.....and its closed due to rain
So we get it signed and head out of the park toward the monorail. A quick trip on Spaceship Earth( we didn't get stuck once!!
) and out to the Leave a Legacy monstrsitys. We had to find one for a friend so we locate it all the while it begans to rain......again. We head out and onto the monorail. We ride to the TTC and pick up the resort monorail. We ride to the Contemporary. We get off and notice the rain....has stopped.
We catch a boat to Widerness Lodge and head in for dinner. We get our usual. From there it is off to MK. We catch the ferry and finally enter the gates at about 8pm. Our Space Mountain FP is for 8-9. We head over and see tons of people waiting for their time to come up. Here is a pet peeve for me. WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE!!!!!!!! They clutter the area and the CM's do nothing!!
We walk past a 60min line and get on the Left side. Something different!! We have a great ride and we head out. We decide to ride The Barnstormer as we never have. The line is short. While waiting in line, I had to put on the yellow poncho as of course it started to rain again. The ride is fun, but WAY to short. We head off and walk to HM. It was posted at 30. The CM at the front said maybe 15min at most.....It was a walk on..
We have a fun ride(we are beginning to know it by heart...LOL)Next stop...Splash Mountain. It is posted as a 90 min wait. I ask the Cm and she say 20 min. We go to get in line and she offers us and quite a few of us in line a FP..
We think we are in luck so we bypass the large group waiting for their time to come up
and get to the load area...Here is the funny thing. There was NO Standby and FP had a line...
We get on and have a good ride. We used the poncho to stay dry..so that justified the price...LOL...There was a line when we got back so we got off and walked around and right back on. This time we had our own car so we sat in the back row. There was also no one in front of us or in the log behind us...The first Brer Bear and Brer Fox(the one with BF standing on BB) was broken down and the entire area smelled of burnt electrical...so we put 2 and 2 together. We rode through and covered our heads for the fianl drop. We joked about what our picture would look like....When we got back to the station, we asked if we could go again. They of course said sure...We went again...And did the same thing at the end...Well we did laugh at our picture, we actually almost bought it...LOL. By now it, it was closing time but we figured we would try to go on Big Thunder...and they let us on....
We had a great run. The fireworks were going off while riding. Incredible!!!!! As we were leaving, he notices the umbrella is broken.
We stop in the Emporium and ask a CM. MK is SOLD OUT!!! So we head out to the CR and get one there. They happily replace it and we hit the Bus Stop and head to Downtown Disney. We get off at Marketplace as their is a child on the bus making noises. He was foreign and was driving us nuts
We walk onto PI and head straight for Adventures Club. There are alot of unfamiliar faces in the cast so we stay upstairs. I did get to see Graves played by my favorite actor and he invited us to stay as they were debuting a new show this evening. We said we would stay only if we could see him dance....LOL...he agreed. He knows us as we are in there all the time and he recognizes us. He is such a sweety. I wish he would play someone other than Graves though...
We watch the show at the end, and as promised, Graves dances for me. He pointed to me and then did a little jig!! We decided to see the Hoopla(HOOPLA!!) after all. The show was OK. We bid a fond KUNGALOOSH!! to them and we headed home....in the rain....LOL...
Some notes for today...
I felt bad for those who had picked up a FP for Splash Mountain early in the day and couldn't get another for the entire day. If you can, ride it at night during the parade or wait until an E-night. It will be less busy and I feel is more fun.
Be prepared for rain!! It rained all day. It is the rainy season and seems to be raining alot. It comes and goes. Be prepared.
If you do forget to come prepared. Buy and umbrella over a poncho. They are a bit more($9 compared to $6) but aren't ugly and more portable and make a great suvie.
PI can be fun in the rain. It was drizzly rhile we were there and that seemed to make everyone in a good mood. Go figure.
Well that about does it for me for this week. I had a really good time overall. All CM's were nice and even other guests were nice. All in all a good trip despite the rain. So until next week...
