Well my original plan was to go to River Country then MK and finally PI for the night..will that happen..will we get the famous Open-Faced Turkey sandwich..read on to find out

Well, much to the enjoyment of residents in Central Fl..we have been enjoying the much needed rain. Usually it just rains in the afternoon. Well I woke up at about 9am because of a LOUD booming sound. Look out the window...AND IT'S A FULL BLOWN THUNDERSTORM This can't be right. It never rains all day. Lay back down and will the rain away. Awake an hour or two later and the rain has stopped but the sky is still dark and looming. So much for River Country. I forgo packing the bathing suits (which I will soon regret..) and we head out. Stop at the ATM and are soon on our way. We pull into DD at 2:15 and hit the busses. The sun is trying to come out but the rain is overpowering. We saw every bus come by but the one we wanted. Our plan was to check out MK. So we decide to get a bus to Swan and Dolphin. We walk to EPCOT, enter through International Gateway, walk toward Spaceship Earth with a quick detour at Ice Station Cool (were I told an unsuspecting child the joys of the Beverly..:p )and out the front gate onto the monorail. As is our normal thing we took the very last car, which was empty, except for a transportation CM. We finally get into MK and find it VERY busy. We push our way to Tommowland and notice since last week they have added a tip board for this area. Neat. SM was a 70 min wait. EEK. We walk to Mickeys Toontown Fair and catch the train and ride it to Frontierland. Splash Mountain is also 70min wait. Big Thunder is 60. WOW..FDH finally admits that he was wrong in tellling me to not bring the bathing suits. We decide to exit MK. We walk to CR and fill our mug, then go to Fort Wilderness. We get there at 5pm. We decide to check out River Country as I haven't been there in almost 10 yrs. We go in and walk around, regretting that we didn't bring those suits..We leave around 5:30. Still to early for dinner at the Lodge so we head to the barn. The were hosing down the horses. They truelly are beautiful magnificint animals. We stayed a good 15mins, petting the large beast. He is the one who always puts his head out of his stall when we visit. He seems to remember us..LOL..He kept putting his head on my chest..soo cute..On a funny note, when they were hosing him down everyone had backed off to keep from getting soaked. As soon as he stopped, a little girl went to pet him and her dad told her to stay back or he would bite, just as I went up and started rubbing his cheek. Too Funny. I bid the horses good-bye and we headed to the Lodge. Noticed on the way in a family of ducks and grabbed some crackers for them..Got the famous Open Faced Turkey sandwich..LOL...and we headed out. Fed the ducks, got bit a few times too..LOL. Caught the bus to Downtown Disney. Finally got to PI around 7:25 or so. Just missed the first Comedy show, next one 8:15. Everything else was closed..boo..So we sat on a bench for a while. Around 8 we got in line for Comedy Warehouse. Horrible Show!! Just keeps getting worse. When it let out it was stilll to early for Adventurers Club so we went into club motion for a bit. Then went into Rock N Roll Beach Club. Finally it was 9:30. Went to Adventurers Club, just as a library show was starting so we grabbed some seats in the lobby and started to get settled. Now for those who are not familiar, AC is a club in the year 1937. They are recruiting new members (YOU!!) for the club. Throughout the night, there are shows hosted by numerous club people such as the club president Camilia Perkins. There is also the pilot Hathaway Brown and also Fletcher Hodges, club curator. This weeks cast was a bit different that last week but we still had a great time. We were seated right next to a small stage where most announcements are made so we had tons of interaction including being announced to the ENTIRE club. Hathaway, being the ladies man, flirted with me, accusing me of undressing him with his eyes..LOL...yeah right..We ended the night in the final show, signing and clapping along with the group. We stayed in the club until after 1am. We stayed in the same seat. We had an AWSOME time. If you ever get the chance to go, DO IT. Spend lots of time if you have it. You will Not be disappointed. If you do decide to go, here is the official song/slogon

Marching along were adventurers
Singing a song of adventuring
Up or Down
North, South, East or West
An Adventurers Life is Best!!

Well thats it for this week. Stay tuned for next week as my fiances parents(whom I adore) will be coming in from NJ on Wednesday and staying until Sunday. We are going to EPCOT and a waterpark and probably a movie. Full report as usual next week. Until then this is your Weekly WDW Warrior ...Signing Off!

Hi Dax -
I went to the Adventurer's Club when I was at Disney
last fall and had a terrific time !!! It's a hard place to
describe..... it really has to be experienced !!!!!!
Glad you had a good time .....
until next time .... KUNGALOOSH !!

thanks for the weekly updates . I actually travel with an extra swimsuit in my car just in case its hot and I need to stop at my brothers for a swim - and as your sig says - BE PREPARED! I love the AC (DH does not) we've never tried the comedy club but maybe will will next trip.

Would it be appropriate to take children (15 and 7) into the adventurer's club at 7PM. You said it was too early to go in, but it does start before 9:30P right? We will be taking our first trip in a week and dont want to miss the AC!!! Have heard its a hoot.. but not sure if it's OK/appropriate to take the kids into PI early in the evening (7-9P?)

Thanks!!

I have seen children there before 9pm. I am pretty sure they are open normally before 9:30. Think they were having a private party or something. Kids will find it fun and most jokes go right over there head..LOL..They will enjoy it.
