Well another week has gone by and the weather is getting hotter. For those who are interested, Central Fl has gotten some rain this past week but are still in need of a good soak. Only wish that tropical storm came this way instead of Texas. Any way, as was decided earlier in the week, we were going to AK and from there it was up in the air.

Did the normal routine and were out the door by 1:45. Reached the gates of AK at about 2:45 or so. Parked in the giraffe section(why I remeber that I do not know :) )and just missed the tram :( so we walked. And we walked. And we walked. And we walked some more. Man was it HOT . We finally entered the gate and waved to Chip, Dale, Baloo, and Louie. Now this is only my 2nd time to this park. Due to its odd hours and my schedule, we just never seemed to make it here. My only goals were to do Rafiki Planet Watch and Its Tough to be a Bug. Now the parking lot seemed pretty full, but there were a lot of people leaving at 3pm. ITTBAB was posted at 25 mins but walked right on to the show. I LOVED IT. As did my fiance. He couldn't stop laughing. He wouldn't admit it but I knew about the hornets part and didn't tell him and I know he jumped from his seat ;) From there we decided to head for the back of the park and try Rafiki. When we saw the safari was 10 mins, we went there instead. I LOVE this ride. Got a great seat in the second row and no one was in front of us. Saw lots of animals, including a baby rhino who was right near the truck.

Best line of the day-
Driver-Lions sleep about 18 hrs a day
Guy behind us- Yeah and so does my wife!

LOL Couldn't stop laughing at that. Our "2 week" safari over we then headed for Rafiki. Train was just pulling in. My favorite part of the whole portion was seeing the back of the facilities where animals were housed. Did get to see a rhino. We checked out Conservation Station and there were 2 characters, Meeko and Rafiki. We ignored them as I had no camera or anything and we continued to look around. Waved to Meeko as he passed by me. We then picked up a phone thing at a station and as I was intently watching the screen, I felt a large hand tap me on the shoulder. I nearly jumped out of my skin. I turned to hit my fiance as I thought it was him and it was none other than RAFIKI! He waved and laughed and I tried to slow my beating heart. My fiance found it humerous though. We then headed outside to affection section. I love animals and goats are just too cute. I carried a brush and headed to the back of the area and found me a goat. Now I have 2 cats and I know they love to have there face rubbed and goats are no different. If you have the chance to do this, brush the goats face. The love it. I was brushing a white goat and he kept rubbing his head into it. Then a brown one came over and got his cheeks brushed. THEY LOVED IT!! The brown one followed me around. We left and washed up and headed back to the train. Got there as it was loading up. From there I still had yet to see Camp Minnie-Mickey so that was where we went. Lion King show was already going on so I checked out characters. Mickey and Minnie had a HUGE line. Pluto and Goofy were ok. Chip and Dale had no line and were standing out at the entrance waving. I love those chipmunks!! My main goal here was to see who was in The Hundred Acre Woods area. I was in luck. Pooh and EEYORE!!!! YES!!! I jumped in the line and stood off to the side and waited. When everyone was gone the CM asked if I was going to get a picture. I said I had no camera or autograph book I was just watching my fav character and she said to come up and give him a hug but give Pooh one too so he didn't feel left out. I happly obliged. Got big hugs and waves good-bye as the headed to get a snack of honey..LOL. At this point I was pretty happy so as we walked out I decided to try my luck with Dinosaur. But first I wanted to find the Passholders Lounge. WOW. What a dissapointment. I thought it would be inside in A/C. Nope. Basically they took a part of The Flame Tree( one of the pavillions) and added a CM and some water and park maps. They didn't even check ID's. To there credit though, the CM said that it had just opened that day(6/9) and they were waiting for the couchs and more fans. I will be back to check it out then. I did fill my cup with cold water though before leaving. Next Stop..Dinosaur. A walk on. Love this ride. So neat. By now it was 5:30 and really hot so we headed out. Caught the tram to the car and headed to Downtown Disney. Went into Vigin Megastore for a bit and headed for the bustop. We decided to head to Wilderness Lodge for dinner to eat at Roaring Forks and have the best Turkey Sandwich ever. We waited about 10 mins for a bus and when we got on it we were greeted with HOT air. NO A/C on the bus. Boy was that a long ride!!

On a side note, there were 2 bus drivers on this bus and the other was a jokester. He told us what EPCOT and MGM mean. For those who don't its
EPCOT-Every Paycheck Comes on Thursday (LOL its true too)
MGM-Mickey Got'ya Money

Anyway, got dinner and decided to go to MGM(LOL) for a bit. It was 8pm when we got there and the park was due to close at 9. Went right for TOT and walked on. Great Drop Sequence!!! 2 long drops and a few short ones. Next stop was Rock'N Roller coaster. Requested the back of the coaster and was granted it. Always a good ride. By the time we got off this it was closing time. Heard the closing announcement for the park as we were buying an ICEE. Love those ICEE'S. We headed out and I almost went crazy. WHy you ask? Basketballs. I HATE THEM!!!!! People insist on bouncing them over and over again. Drives me nuts. There was lightning in the distance but never posed a threat as we walked the path back to the Boardwalk. Waited almost 25 mins for a bus back to Downtown Disney. Next stop, PI!
PI was rather crowded but got in line for Comedy Warehouse. Not bad. When that let out we went to club Motion and hung out there a bit. Went to the next Comedy Warehouse show and then went to the Beachouse Club to see my Fav band Kabang. From there we left the park and headed for home. Another great weekend comes to a close.

Thanks for posting another great report. Its nice to hear the latest! I bet that guy got in a lot of trouble with his wife for that remark ROFL Mine would have  Keep em coming!

Always enjoy these - thanks

Thanks for the report, it was nice.

One question, why did you requested the back on the Rock'N Roller coaster?

I requested the back as I always like to try coaster is all seats. You get a different ride depending on where you sit. The line was REALLY long for the front and I always sit in the middle so I tried the back. Normally the back is fun but I didn't like it as much on this ride. Oh well.

<font color=navy>Great report, Dax! You write these often? I'm going to have to look them up. :D
