A Daily Lesson in Parenting and Manners: A TR by a real life Wicked Stepmom!

MissCammie - This is by far the best TR I've ever read. You're doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next post.

:donald:

Well, I have been diligently reading along on this voyage and I love every installment even more than the last. I hope my TR will be even a fraction of this greatness :thumbsup2 - although without the suporting cast of Sally and Teddy, that is most unlikely. Ya gotta love that Sally girl, she reminds me very much of myself at that age- the rule following and all. I can't wait to read more, this is great :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks everyone for reading and for your sweet comments. I am working on another installment I PROMISE.

Unfortunately we are still going through the custody case drama. It's ugly and exhausting and I'm ready to pack up and move to Australia...and start a kangaroo farm...so I can pet them...and make them kick people I don't like.

sounds reasonable right?

not so much. but it's a bit more reasonable than the way the courts deal with custody cases. it's insanity. *note to self...RUN!!!!*

Just kidding...

I'm working on a new chapter! PROMISE!!!

thanks for hanging in there everyone.

:goodvibes

(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))

Take your time.. .We will all be here

:grouphug:

:grouphug: Everything will be ok...although I do like the kangaroo idea!

Miss Cammie-
I'm still loving your TR... I felt like I was on Tom Sawyers Island with you looking for paintbrushes!
If this question is too personal please just ignore it: can you tell us anything about the custody case (like is it because the bio-mom wants to move away? or it something else?) Again, if you don't want to or can't share please just ignore this. I've never gone thru anything like that so I'm just really interested .

Ok so now the suspense is killing me cuz when i found this i was able to chug along and read, read, read...lol.....

Checking back in tonight and caught up to all the posts! Whew!! I made it!! :cool1: popcorn::

Love that Gal Sal. She was sooo sassy to those Sparkle Sisters. I think she should be nominated for the :tink: PinkerBell award. ;) For the person who visited WDW this month with the most sassiness and righteousness...Our Miss Sally!!

I said this before (ok, I wrote it before) on this link. I just don't understand why people have to spew their nasty stuff while they're on vacation. Isn't it a happy time for them? Like the lady who was trying to push her way into the character breakfast. Don't they know you get farther with sweet than with sour? I bet if she was really nice about it, they would have seated her.

Don't worry though, Miss Cammie, about your kids turning out the right way.....they already ARE on the right path!!! :thumbsup2

Of course it's reasonable. :goodvibes

BTW could you send me one of the friendlier Kangroos??

I'm sure Sally would be totally on board with the kangaroos kicking rule breakers- it's only fair after all :rotfl2:

You, your DH, Sally and Teddy are in my prayers :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Ohh Ms Cammie i am loving your TR! I am not an evil step mom but your trip report has really made you my roll model of a mother.
Sally sounds like my Jenna (almost 8) and Teddy sounds like my Logan (also 5). I cant wait for our big trip to the happiest place on earth. We need that get away. We are going through our own personal he!! right now and i wish so much i could fast forward past it all and be in Disney hunting paintbrushes and kissing Pooh Bears. Your TR brings me a little piece of that happy place so i can make it another day.
BTW you should write a book.

Hey Miss Cammie,
Your :welcome: to come to Australia, we need more people like you and Sally.

I'd be a bit scared of those kangaroos though, although one kangaroo king hit to the sparkle sisters might be what they need.:rotfl:

Miss Cammie,

On my commute in to work this morning, I was leafing through an anthology of quotations that I have. I've been in a rough place the past few days and was looking for a little inspiration to get back onto the right track.

I would like you to know that prior to reading the anthology, however, you'd inspired me to do some research on kangaroo ranching. ;)

Anywho, oddly enough, I thought of you also when I read these two quotes:

"Three things are essential: great doubt, great faith, and great perseverance." ~ Zen Saying

Have faith. It's always the "Why's" that we don't understand that cause us the most pain. but in the end, we work through them.

"The most valuable thing we can do for the psyche, occasionally, is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of a room, not try to be or do anything whatever." ~ May Sarton

Take a mental vacation. To Disney even.

Looking forward to your next installment, whenever it makes it up - today, next month, next year. Your story is worth waiting for.

Thank you for the index! You went way beyond what I was asking for, I just wanted a list of the pages your chapters were on. But the links are SURE helpful.

So it's not just the ZZUBs who have this experience? We lose all sense and cents on vacation.

What is it with women and those arches? They're just arches! I don't get any kind of giddy from the arches. But I recognize I'm in the minority on this one.

You're pictures of the Lodge are great. We really like it there.

:moped:

I'm glad the chapters were helpful. I figured I better do something when my mom called to tell me that grandma was trying to read my report but got lost and ended up on some internet gambling site! Grandma does NOT approve of gambling...she thought we'd actually gone to Vegas!:lmao:

Not even a little bit of magic from the arches? Man they send sparkles right through me! I think the gates of Heaven might look a bit like the Disneyworld arches...but Mickey and Minnie will have halos and wings...

I'm glad you're enjoying the report Zzub. You've given me so many opportunities to snot Diet Coke through my nose and I want so much to give back...by way of vomit stories...and poo stories...it's only fair!

I just came across your TR and I have to tell you, I think coke came out my nose when I read that!! LMAO Love your TR can't wait to read more!!!

As I said above...one snotting coke through ones nose b/c of MY report is always my aim! Thanks for reading!!!

OK i found this and I am in!!...lol this is the most hilarious TR i have read, only on day two cant wait to hear the rest!!

thanks for joining us! More will be up soon!!!

This TR is super super wonderful to read!

Thanks so much for posting it for us!

thanks for the support!! I'm so glad you are enjoying it!!

You just crack me up and make me cry. I am loving your TR! Good for your Sally to stand up to those spoiled little girls.
Thanks for sharing!!

Sally Rally is an amazing girl. Although she would never see herself as brave. It's that sense of BLACK and WHITE that moves her along. Her bravery is inside her...where she can't see it!

MissCammie - This is by far the best TR I've ever read. You're doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next post.

:donald:

Thanks so much! It was a great trip. Lots of funny, lots of tears, lots of magic!

Thank you so much. Sally and Teddy are pretty funny little kids. Too bright for words sometimes...I'm glad you are enjoying the report!!

:grouphug: Everything will be ok...although I do like the kangaroo idea!

THANK YOU! I am seriously considering it!

It's pretty much what I said on the first page of my report. Mom wants to change everyone's life for reasons that Jay and I do not feel are appropriate. She does not agree. So the kids are in the middle. It's a terrible mess. I would recommend people avoiding custody battles at all costs. B/c they bring you to your knees...which is a good place to start praying. Because really, that's all you have in these things. Prayer.

I just want to say I'm really enjoying your report.

thanks so much!!!

I vote for the "trained" kangaroos!!:lmao:

good. I'm SERIOUSLY considering it. I've googled it. I'm packing my bags.

Thanks so much for reading and for your very kind comments. Sally would LOVE to know that's she been nominated for the PinkerBell award! She loves awards.

There were LOTS of pootsnorkely people at Disneyworld. Lots of rule breakers, lots of mannerless folk...parade spot hoggers and worst of all SMOKERS!:scared1:
Of course it's reasonable. :goodvibes

BTW could you send me one of the friendlier Kangroos??

Sure...I could start a Kangaroo exchange program...send Kangaroos abroad...for a semester...y'know...let them see the world. And kick people who are mean...I just love that idea. It's growing on me more and more!

I'm sure Sally would be totally on board with the kangaroos kicking rule breakers- it's only fair after all :rotfl2:

You, your DH, Sally and Teddy are in my prayers :grouphug:

thanks for the prayers and hugs. We need them. Lots! :)

Thanks so much for reading. I'm sorry you are having a rough patch too. Rough patches are no fun. And I definitely know about wanting to fast forward through the garbage to get to Disney. If only...

Y'all are in my prayers. Hang in there. Disney is on the horizen!!!

thanks for reading!!!

:lmao: THANK YOU!!!! See I KNEW the kangaroo idea was a good one. I've made plans to run away to Australia on several occasions...once I almost did. I'll get there yet!! :cool1: I'll bet Sally would LOVE IT!!!

kangaroo thing sounds pretty neat...can't wait to read more!!!

I'm glad so many people are in favor of my Kangaroo ranching idea. I'm SO on it. Thanks for reading!!!!:goodvibes

See...now YOU made me get weepy! AT WORK!!! :lmao: The why's are the hardest. The why's are EXCRUCIATING. I do NOT understand the divine plan when it seems like the children are suffering the worst. I don't get it. But I guess I just have to have faith and hope that tomorrow will be a brighter day.

thanks for reading. Thanks for the uplifting thoughts. They are much appreciated!!

Go back to the first post, she explained it all there.:surfweb:

Oh Miss Cammie, I just can't stop thinking about Teddy and Sally and how I PRAY that they will get as much of you as humanly possible while they are growing up. Clearly, you are their "mother" and are giving them gifts that are priceless and will last a lifetime.
I do want to comment though, and while this is off-topic and I might get thrown off the Dis for it (oh no, please!!)... just a couple of things for you to consider. I also divorced when my children were young, not that it makes me any kind of expert, but I'm just thinking ....
The biological Mom undoubtedly (I'm sure you will agree) LOVES her kids beyond measure - more than anyone - and has loved them since the moment of their birth. The problem is, giving birth to a child doesn't automatically confer wisdom and knowledge as to the best WAY to love him or her, and this Mom obviously has issues - issues that have little to do with her kids - that are playing out in this arena simply because she has no idea how to do it any differently. I'm not excusing her behavior. There is NO "excuse" for psychologically harming children! BUT, I AM saying that I'll bet dollars to donuts that the Mom is DOING THE BEST SHE CAN WITH WHAT SHE KNOWS. I know it sounds like that can't be possible, but I still maintain that it is. I bet she is feeling so much FEAR and is driven by that FEAR, which is a POWERFUL emotion, rather than by her "good sense" and even love for her kids. Think how challenging it must be for her to know that her ex has married someone as incredibly wonderful as Miss Cammie!!! OMG!!! The jealousy and resentment alone have to be eating her... and then add to that - the kids adore you and you are a BETTER MOTHER THAN SHE IS... well... this is not a recipe for success - even if she WAS a big enough person to "do what's in the best interest of the kids". Is there ANY WAY you can appeal to her personally and assure her that you realize SHE is their mother (I know I know, ouch...) and that you have no intention of doing anything to come between her and her kids? Maybe you've done that already, and of course this is none of my business and this is a trip report not an advice column and of course who am I to give advice anyway.... so please just delete delete if I'm way out of line!! I'm just thinking that her move may have a LOT more to do with fear than anything else. Fear of losing one's children, even figuratively, to an "interloper" (even though WE LOVE YOU), has to be a very strong driver for Teddy and Sally's mom... know what I mean. So I'm thinking, in my very very long-winded way... the best thing to do is to try to alleviate the FEAR, because as long as she has it - she is bound to hurt the kids and herself, and you and Jay. Fear can never be a positive motivator. As long as their Mom feels fear, she is going to act out. Fact of life. Getting rid of the fear SOMEHOW would be the only path to this having a decent outcome, I think.
Okay, someone stop me!! OY!!!
:wizard:
I Love you Miss Cammie - and you are a miracle in those kids' lives. That's not changing anytime soon. What incredibly fortunate children they are, no matter what the outcome of the legal proceedings. Just a week with you Disney is more positive experience than a lot of kids get in a whole childhood!
Done!
Love,
