A Daily Lesson in Parenting and Manners: A TR by a real life Wicked Stepmom!

All caught up.........this is great!!!

Love your writing....full-on funny one second and making me teary the next....keep it up!!! :)

Have you picked out names yet? :thumbsup2

I am tearing up at work also... quick close the door!! ;)

Keep it coming - can't wait for more! :woohoo:

all y'all are SO sweet. I am going to respond to each and every person when I get the chance to sit again.

We're off to the grocery store at the moment. My obsessive compulsive husband is running around the house making exclamations of "ACK! DIRT! LOOK...it's a PILE of THINGS that aren't put EXACTLY where they should be!!!" His head is spinning around ala The Exorcist. Seriously, our house is so clean we'd put Martha Stewart to shame...silly husband. He hallucinates...usually...cuz

Sometimes I leave things out...just to watch him twitch...cuz I'm wicked that way..

*ahem*

picked out names for WHAT?!

What are y'all TALKING about?!

:confused3

Man this was like a three kleenex installment... we need a trip forum warning system here! What a wonderful memory for Sally

Minnie put her hand to her mouth in surprise. She nodded profusely and pointed at Sally and gave an excited little jump.

"You remember me? You really do?"

Minnie nodded again and pulled Sally in for a hug.

needless to say, I was weeping. Tears streaming down my face, bawling my eyes out. So was Sally. You could SEE relief pouring out of her in those tears.

Minnie was wonderful. She held Sally close and sort of rocked her back and forth. It was exactly what Sally needed.

Miss Cammie, this is seriously the FUNNIEST trip report I have ever read. :lmao: At the same time I have cried several times. My heart breaks for everything you and your family are going through. :sad2: I can't wait to read the rest of your trip report, but also am interested to know what you find out tomorrow and how things turn in the custody battle (if you chose to share that, which is totally your business). You are an excellent wicked step mother! It is so obvious how much you love Sally and Teddy and want what is best for them. I truly truly hope things work out for you. Sending prayers and pixie dust your way! :wizard:

Miss Cammie, you should seriously consider writing professionally. I've read some great trip reports on this board, but never has anyone drawn the reader in making us laugh and cry within minutes of each other. You have an uncanny ability to make us feel your feelings and see through your eyes. You are an awesome step-mom, how blessed those children are to have you in their lives. I love the eyebrow smack! I've given my family a few of those :lmao: Can't wait to experience more of your vacation, and you know we all will be waiting to hear what the doctor says ;)

I thought there was something I liked about you!

I am also a "Certified Behaviorist" (Residential Treatment Programs for Adults with Developmental Disabilities with a minor in Early Childhood Autism- Garsh even the title is impressive) and I am fully aware of how impressive that is! That and $3.10 will get you a cup of coffee, at Starbucks!!

My school was funnier yet. The school was a sub section of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences- Human Development and Family Life until the Department head Dr. Morris (who I will never forgive for giving me a "C" in his class...) actually wrote all the Alumni to alert them the name had changed to "Applied Behavioral Sciences" and we were to change our resumes accordingly. I was ten years out of college, and after two kids too tired to change anything, muchless my resume!

I think all of us in that field are sympatico, and have issues! Keep up the fight for sanity and good luck with the blended family, it can get messy! I am not a Wicked stepmother (just a wicked mom) but I had one, a real one!

How FUNNY that that craggy old professor felt the need to instruct alumni to "change" their resumes accordingly...I'm sure he added a "harrumph" at the end of the directive! Cuz craggy old professors LOVE to make that noise. They use it for emphasis a lot. I had several harrumph-ers in grad school...come to think of it...I have several now!

I am suitably IMPRESSED with your title and certifications!! Thanks for the good wishes and thanks for reading!

I've got to tell you, Miss Cammie, that besides just enjoying your TR, I LOVE that there are people like you out there in the world. I, too, firmly believe in PARENTING. Sometimes, like yesterday when I had my youngest 2 at Barnes and Noble and the kid at the train yanked a Thomas car out of my 4 year old's hands and said "That one is MINE!", and there wasn't another adult around, and I was forced to intervene and introduce said child to the world of sharing and compromise, I think I might be the only one out there. It's nice to know I'm not alone. And nicer, still, to know that when my 4 year old turns to me and says "Momma, that boy has no manners and didn't play nicely," that there are kids like Sally and Teddy, so mine are not alone.

Thank you.

YAY!!!! People who care if their children turn out to be hoodlums!! I was beginning to wonder if there were any out there anymore. Teddy is still 50/50 on the hoodlum front. We heard tell that he threw a rock at his sister while at mommy's this week...and did he get a time out? Well no of COURSE not as it was his FIRST strike and he gets THREE before he's punished...now does anybody think that perhaps Teddy has figured this out and knows he can hurt his sister TWICE before any consequences take place? Anybody? Yeah...:rolleyes2 I'm not judging...It's just wrong and I'm aware of it's wrongness...which is NOT judging...it's being RIGHT! *ahem*

Truly enjoying your TR! I am also at work and keep getting the funny looks because you are making me laugh out loud one minute and cry the next. Please keep it coming.

I'm sorry I'm making everybody cry at work!! But Happy Tears right?;)

Love it, love it, love it!
What time is your doctor's appointment tomorrow? Because about 2 hours after I will be here looking for an update!
Seriously though, ulcers can make you throw up, and feeling badly can make you cry...so it's possible. ;)
Love Jay's comment to the infringing kid. I can't believe that the waitress was Miss Judgemental Perfect Woman...geez, a "Congratulations!" would have sufficed.
Can't wait to read more! I agree with PP, I love your writing style. Tangents are good, they give us more to read! (But I also like Southern fiction...makes me sad I am a tri-state girl :( )
More please!

My doctor's appointment is at 3:30 which is the only time I could get in. I wanted to get in sooner, but I'm trying to get my office organized before the kiddos come back!

Really, I don't think I'm pregnant. I really don't. I think it's the ulcers...and I have an ear infection which would account for the dizziness...AND the being a cry baby could TOTALLY be PMS...it's all explainable. Seriously...stop laughing. Seriously. ;)

I'll be sure to post though as soon as I know...cuz I'm that exciting...that people would want to know...

Ok you are going to get me in trouble at work. I am sitting at my desk with tears streaming down my face. Gotta love that Minnie. Am waiting for the next installment. (might have to read it at home)

Happy Tears right?! There is NO crying at Trip Reports! I'm glad you are enjoying my schmaltzy, sentimental writing. I'm glad to know I'm not gagging people...or coming off as preachy...or judgmental...which I'm not...I'm just right...see how that works? ;)

really, thanks for all the nice comments!

I started reading your reports last night at work and am now hooked. The Minnie Mouse momnet had me crying as well. Thank you for sharing your trip, I look forward to reading more!

There is MUCH more to come!!! Stay tuned and thanks for reading! It's been fun to write so far!!

All caught up.........this is great!!!

Love your writing....full-on funny one second and making me teary the next....keep it up!!! :)

Have you picked out names yet? :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for reading samc!!

If it's a boy...either Mickey or Zzub

If it's a girl...either Minnie or Lala

what do you think?;) They are my favorite Dis names!!!

I'll keep y'all posted!!!

I am tearing up at work also... quick close the door!! ;)

Keep it coming - can't wait for more! :woohoo:

Thanks for reading!!! More is on the way!!!

Man this was like a three kleenex installment... we need a trip forum warning system here! What a wonderful memory for Sally

It was a wonderful moment. I hope she can hang on to it. Life is rough unfortunately and life does not discriminate...even if you are only a kid.

I will DEFINITELY keep y'all posted on the custody garbage. It's wretched. It really is. It should be illegal. The courts take forever...cases just DRAG on...it's going to be Sally's undoing. Seriously it's a King Solomon situation. We would rather see them go live with their mom and see us part time, than watch them go through this. Which I'm fairly sure is the key to this whole game. They are being cut in half and we'd rather take a loss than let this go on.

prayers and pixie dust are ALWAYS appreciated!!!

Thanks everyone for reading and being so supportive and my writing efforts! More is on the way!!!:goodvibes

wow...what an amazing complement!! Seriously. That means so much. I'm not sure I could ever write professionally. I'm sort of a "fly by the seat" sort of girl. I think publishers would think I was a schmaltzy nut job and send me a list of psychiatrists instead of writing agents!:lmao:

thanks so much for reading! I appreciate every single one of y'all.:goodvibes

Our DHs will definitely get along...Spider came home from work today and cleaned...he swept the whole house (moving the stove too) and then mopped. He loves to clean.

I can not do much I have 2 herniated discs in my back and pain it has been miserable...

On the hair issue...I have the same problem with Aviva..She is mixed I am white and Spider is black from Jamaica and she has great hair but I keep it up or braided every day I do it. Or it would be miserable to do. We use lots of detangler spray.

How is the tummy feeling?

So now that the *cat* is out of the bag and those of us who were thinking it...just not willing to write it...:confused3 ;) :lmao:

BTW, both of MY 'tummy bugs' lasted all day long until week 16-18 and included IV DRIPs and a whole lot of blachhh,;)

I'm just say...

LOVE IT SO FAR!:rotfl:

AH! I should have waited to read further. My tummy bugs lasted 9 months, well only 8 since both kids came early.

I lost 26 lbs with tummy bug #1, and never even got back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

Can't wait to hear more.

Sounds like sally's mom suffers from "mychildmustneverbeuncomfortableorbeunhappy" syndrome which seems to be so common. Bravo for you, for setting limits!

I'm so glad that minnie remembered her!! I was ready to tackle her and put her in a head lock if she didn't!!!

My tummy is MUCH better actually. I SWEAR it was all the Disney food messing with my ulcers...*cough*

Oh yes, we use LOTS of detangler. It's a godsend. I wish my mom had used it when I was young. I was a competitive swimmer and the chlorine did a number on my hair. So one day, after much crying and misery as my mom tried to brush my hair, she took me to the beauty shop and had my hair cut SHORT...we're talking Mia Farrow short here. I couldn't have been more pleased. I hated my long hair. My dad always insisted we not get our hair cut. Hair cuts were for BOYS. Young ladies had "long, pleasing hair" I believe he called it. Ew gross dad, get OUT of the dark ages okay?!

My grandma had heart failure though. She was the one who put me in pageants from the time I could walk...so she bought me fake hair! Who would have known that "Little Miss Memorial Park" had FAKE hair...and teeth...cuz I lost some...

no wonder I'm in therapy!;)

Morning sickness?!:scared1: BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!;)

EXACTLY what I was thinking -- morning sickness!

TUMMY BUG!!! I SWEAR...:confused3

Thanks for reading!! I would be very surprised if my tummy bug lasted a whole nine months...that only happens to pregnant people...which I am NOT. At all.

:goodvibes

I was praying that whatever needed to happen to make Sally feel good about this would happen.

MissCammie, Sally is really, really lucky to have you in her life.:flower3:

I had goosebumps just reading the words, even before I read Minnie's reaction. Tears are still rolling at the story of Sally's experience.

Please don't forget to update us tomorrow, even though Dr. Disboards have already made the call.

I am so looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip! You sound linke a wonderful Stepmommy!:cheer2: Can't wait to hear more!

Just jumping in to subscribe!
I am really enjoying your trip report; you are a wonderful writer, and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. :) Sally and Teddy and their daddy are so very lucky to have you in their lives.
Of course, I can't wait to see what your doctor has to say about your tummy bug too...

Well I gotta say...my husband is not feeling too kindly towards me at the moment...y'all wanna know WHY?!

He's feeling neglected b/c I'm on the computer writing my TRIP REPORT!:rotfl2:

I pointed out that I am preserving the memory of our trip to Disneyworld.

He wasn't impressed.

GROUCHY PANTS MUCH?!

I think he's still tired from the trip. And y'all want to hear something random and weird...I told my mother in law that my legs still ached from all the walking we did at Disneyworld...she told me to put a bar of ZEST between the sheets at the foot of the bed...:confused3

Has anyone else ever heard of that?! She swears by it!!!

I told my husband and he wanted to know what she'd been SMOKING!:lmao:

I swear, I learn something new every day!!

okay I must tear myself away from the computer before my husband stays mad at me for keeps!

More TR tomorrow!!!

Night all, and thanks everyone for reading!!!!:goodvibes

Yes the Zest soap thing really works. I listen to a late night Radio show in pittsburgh which has a lot of older listeners and they all swear by it. They said it is great if you have a lot of everyday aches and pains.

Great job Misscamie Sally sounds very cute cant wait to hear about the Pirate and Princes Party
