A Daily Dose of Disney Drama! 5/02/13 PG 53 THE END

What a fantastic moment you *eaves dropped* on. Moments like that think there is hope for the human race! lol

Absolutely!

I may have to check out the movies on the beach with my nephew when we're there in April. We're staying at Pop Century and I think they have movies too. However, I think I'd like them on the beach. I'm assuming that's okay even though we're not staying there, we are staying within the Disney Resorts.

Pop has movies at the pool which are fun too. You don't have to be a resort guest to enjoy the movies on the beach though :)

So glad Caitlin had fun ringing in her 22nd!

Wow, what a great experience that you saw at the Brown Derby! That sort of kindness just warms my heart.

Thanks, me too :goodvibes

We felt blessed to witness their kindness :)

I noticed your ticker!! I hope you have a very magical time! :tinker:

Hi All! Ready for some DRAMA? Ok everybody hang on and don't say I didn't warn you!

When I left off Dale had just woken from his nap and we were off to Epcot.

On our walk over I decided to try and get some "artsy" shots

That entire resort area is just so beautiful! I think, outside of the parks, it is my favorite area in all of WDW!

Getting closer!

DSC00220.jpg

As soon as we were in the park we ran into royalty! Her royal highness Merida was greeting guests at the International Gateway.

She wasn't as fun to interact with as the other Merida but she was quite pretty.

As we left Merida and headed toward England Alice in Wonderland ran up to us and insisted we had to have our picture taken by the Photopass Photographer. It was very random but very cute! Of course I can't show you that pic as you know I lost my PP card.

From there we continued on toward what might possibly be Dale's favorite place in all of Epcot......The Ditch!

Finally we arrived at our destination and Dale quickly ordered his favorite Disney adult beverage, "the Jalapeno Margarita". Before taking a drink he made a toast in honor of his Dis-buddy "The Queen".

I love this picture, he looks so excited
DSC00229.jpg

I'm not a drinker so I had a Coke and we shared some chips and salsa.

Dale was seated next to this lovely lady

He finished his drink and debated before ordering another. As you might imagine I really had to twist his arm! This time he ordered the Cucumber Margarita that Caitlin had read about on the Dis.

You can see he looks a bit different...
DSC00232.jpg

He finished that drink, which he says is not as good as the Jalapeno, and asked for the bill. Well the waiter returned not with the bill but with another drink! He said their register was down so he was comping Dale another Cucumber Margarita since we'd have to wait.

Well somebody is happy!

The waiter brought the bill and when Dale finished we headed over to take the Mexican Cruise. On the way Dale tried on some mouse ears...

Of course there was no wait for the boat so we hopped on and almost as soon as it started moving Dale said he wasn't feeling well. I told him he just had 3 margaritas of course he wasn't feeling well. He then said his "chest hurt". I was pretty sure he had indigestion from those spicy drinks so to be honest I didn't take it all that seriously.

When we got off the ride we headed outside and he said he still wasn't feeling well and he was having trouble breathing. He has intermittent asthma so I thought he was having an asthma attack and I told him I had packed his inhaler but it was in the room. I offered to go get it while he waited but he didn't want to do that so we both headed back to the resort to get it. As we walked he began to look bad and was holding the middle of his chest. I wanted to go to First Aid or get a CM for help but he refused to go along with that and got mad at my suggestions. As I think back on this I am really surprised no one came up and asked if we needed help. I must have looked completely panicked and he was white, holding his chest and having trouble breathing. That short walk back to the resort seemed to take forever! When we got to the resort I ran to the store and got him some Tylenol and some AlkaSeltzer. (idk why I got the Tylenol but the AS was in case it was indigestion and not an asthma attack) When we got to the room he immediately used the inhaler and it seemed to really help. (thank goodness!) I then made him take the AlkaSeltzer just in case. After resting for about half an hour he says "ok, let's go back to Epcot" WHAT?!! I could not believe he would even suggest going back out. I insisted we stay in that evening so we went down to the Club Lounge and got some dinner. That evening they had bacon wrapped scallions, veggies and dip, hummus, cheese and crackers and rolls among other things. They had beer, wine and soda to drink.

Not the yummiest looking pic but you get the idea
DSC00238.jpg

We relaxed in the lounge for quite a while before he suggested we take a walk around the resort. I told him I would only go if he agreed we take it at a slow pace...

We went back to the room and called it a night. I thought it was best he get a good nights sleep and I was feeling pretty stressed from all that happened. I took one last pic before going to sleep.

So I suppose you're wondering about that asthma attack. Well when we got home he went to the doctor and had to undergo a battery of tests. That asthma attack was actually a heart attack. The doctor could not explain why the inhaler stopped the heart attack or why there was no damage done to his heart. All I know is that I feel very blessed that he is ok ::yes::

Oh my god Dawn!

I can't believe that. I'm just speechless. So grateful that Dale is okay but just absolutely speechless. I'm so glad obviously that everything is okay. I can't imagine what that must have felt like.

Holy crap! I did not think that's where this update was going. :faint:

First of all - 3 margaritas at the Ditch is like 6 alcoholic drinks. O M G!

Secondly - I take back my offer to chug margaritas with Dale. He could definitely drink me under the table.

Lastly, I am very concerned that your doctor said he had a small heart attack. Has he had a stress test and cardiac cath? Has he seen a cardiologist? If not, he really should. That is totally scary. You know as I was reading I was thinking this sounded like a heart attack, but you told the story so calmly so I was like - where is this going? And I am shocked that no one stopped to offer help. The whole thing is so scary.

On a brighter note - those two pictures of the YC at night are totally gorgeous. The lights look perfect.

Oh - and yeah for the 15th. :cool1:

and cool for the teach America thing in LA. I really hope it works out! :thumbsup2

Thank you. I had a good cry after posting. It was a terrifying experience but thankfully he is fine.

Yes he will be limiting himself to 1 on any future trips!

Yes he saw a specialist and had the full battery of tests. (between all the tests he and Caitlin have had lately I can't keep track of who had what) The tech who did the stress test told him he scored like a healthy 27 yr old would :confused3 I tried to tell the story just as we experienced it but when I was done I had a good cry. It was terrifying and after the tests came back it was scary to think what could have happened.

Sorry I have been MIA, but I want to wish a belated

Going back to get caught up

.

Oh my goodness - definitely not good drama! :faint:

So glad that Dale is okay - what a very scary experience to go through! I'm sure it was not an easy update to write, after finding out what was really going on. Now that he's with a cardiologist you can keep an eye on things and make sure he has lots of WDW trips in his future.

Still loving the pics of YC - one of those places I would really love to stay someday!

Hoping the next update is a bit happier...

So, I have a couple of updates to comment on, so I'll start with the happier one...

I haven't been to HBD- the restuarant looks really gorgeous. Food looks good too.

Thanks for sharing your pictures of the Backlot Express. I only stopped in their long enough to give meal vouchers to the 14 teens and 5 chaperones on our class trip, while I slipped away to get ToT FP and have a solo lunch at Starring Rolls.

I didn't know it was filled with props. That's kind of cool- thanks for sharing that tidbit.

And about being able to see the Indiana Jones show from the fence.

All of your pictures of the Yacht Club are stunning! Love them!

Oh, wow, Dawn. What an incredibly scary experience for you two. I can't imagine the panic you were facing. I'm so glad that Dale is ok, and now you can keep close watch on his health.

I'm impressed that you were able to keep a steady hand and snap some gorgeous pictures on your gentle walk around the resort. The picture of the wedding gazebo at night is so pretty!

I haven't been to The Ditch, but the drinks sound very tempting. I'll stick with one, though.

Hope that your trip gets better from here and that this was your biggest dose of drama. I'll take more of the hairbrush variety, please.

Thank you! I didn't anticipate how hard it would be to write and I felt very drained afterward.

It will be :)

It is very pretty and we really like the salad. It is a nice place for adults but if we still had kids I would stick with SciFi or 50's :)

It is a fun place to explore but from what I've heard about the food you made the right choice with Starring Rolls :rotfl:

Thank you. I really dont even remember taking most of the pictures.

Good idea!

I wish I could say that was the end of the drama but it wasn't. There wasn't anymore of the life threatening variety but still much more serious than the hairbrush. I came home needing a vacation!

So glad to hear that Dale is okay, now. I guess that was a learning experience!! Lots to be thankful for this year!!!
