A cruise I would like to sail is....

The only cruise I'd like to do is to Antarctica - and not a cruise but a small ice-breaker that allows me to land on Antarctica. I'm more interested in land vacations now.

French Polynesia.

Oh wait, if I was DCL? I'd be looking at trying to put together a cruise that stops near the Asia theme parks. It takes four days at sea to go from Shanghai to Hong Kong... five to go to Tokyo.

Well, a lot of ideas here are truly wishes upon a star. 😁 Very fun to read! I would love a world cruise from Disney, but that's not gonna happen - even our wallet somehow can stomach one, lol. Their ships have such high operating costs that they have to be absolutely certain that an itinerary would sell before mounting one. If another cruise line hasn't sailed one, Disney won't even look at it.

What I would really like Disney to do is to spare a ship to spend the fall/winter in a different part of the world every year - particularly when all 7 ships are sailing.

For example, after Wonder is done Alaska and the Mexican itineraries in the fall, send it to Hawaii. It can then:
- Make a trans-pacific journey from Hawaii to Australia/NZ
- Spend the holiday season down under
- Relocate to Singapore in February and do the one-way itinerary between Singapore and HK
- Do the HK-Shanghai-Tokyo itineraries in March
- Circumnavigate Japan in its cherry blossom season in March/April
- Relocate to Hawaii at the end of April
- Return to Alaska in May

Then, the following winter, take one ship down to South America, circumnavigating the continent in the process. Do the Cape Horn itineraries a few times - and even a Panama Canal transit from Florida to Peru.

In yet another year, leave Magic or one ship in Europe and spend the fall or winter in the Mediterranean, including hitting Egypt, Israel, Turkey, etc. I would love for them to do a Suez Canal itinerary, but that takes two to three weeks one way - at the end of which is a region where Disney doesn't have any presence.

Actually no. I've already done the Buenos Aires to Santiago cruise, which was awesome. We were booked for Antarctica for early 2021 but was canceled. I wouldn't spend that kind of money to have that limited amount of time on land in Antarctica. I'd also want to go further south (not just into the Peninsula). And lastly, the amount of passengers when landing on Antarctica is limited so if there are over 100 passengers onboard, you'll be going in shifts. So for all of those reasons, that would be a no-go for us.

I used to think that until we went to those parks. There is just so much more to do in those countries - I'd never want to go by cruise. I just don't see Disney going to Asia or Aust/NZ though. Maybe once they have 10 ships sailing? :)

Except for the packing.
True, but that often seems to be an issue for us. On our last trip to Disney World, the highs were in the low 50s for the first half our stay but in the 90s for the second half.

South America, around through the Strait of Magellan and the Chilean fjords. Something that stops in Dubai and India.

These sound like itineraries from the Cunard Line. They do a round the world cruise every year, go thru the Panama and Suez Canals, South America including the Amazon River, Asia, Africa, and a bunch more. And they only have 3 ships.

I feel exactly the same about the European cruises, but they sell like hotcakes!

I agree. Except for maybe a Greek Isles cruise, I would much rather spend time on land in Europe. We prefer to spend at least a week in a city and up to 3 weeks in a small country or region. I really like to see the place and not just the one or two touristy things you can do in a cruise stopover.
