A crazy idea

I would say to make some reservations, just to have something, then go with what you feel like when you get there if there is something available that you would prefer, and just cancel whichever reservations you don't want to use. I think that no Disney vacation is going to be absolutely perfect, so don't set yourself up that way. I try to use these boards more to give me an idea of what to expect rather than taking everyone's opinions as the Bible.
But getting back to the question, there are many restaurants you can get in on the day of if you hit it at the right time, but I would feel better having something in my pocket.

DH & I booked a trip last week for this Sept that revolves around a work conference. We decided to try to skip some of our favorite restaurants and try as many new-to-us ones as we can. So far I've booked The Wave, Rose and Crown, Nine Dragons, Portabello and Kona Cafe(dinner/we've had only bkfst there). We think it will be fun to expand our food horizons; and it is only food - DH always tells the kids to try something and if they don't like it, they can get ice cream, it's vacation!

Love the idea of putting the restaurants in a hat! I'll put in all the names of places we would like to eat at and let fate decide. This is perfect, thanks so much!!!

That sounds like fun - enjoy it!

It definitely makes sense if that's the sort of fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants experience you want. Personally, we plan our park visits around where we're eating, so...not for us!
