On Halloween day/night, does anything else go on in the World besides MNSSHP? Do they do anything at DTD? Is there anywhere else my son could wear his costume and/or trick or treat?

Also, I know that 10/31 usually sells out for MNSSHP. Does that mean it's really crowded that night?

1. There are usually costume events held Oct 31 in DTD and Pleasure Island.

2. MNSSHP is a limited admission ticket: In the past Disney has sold approx 10,000 to 15,000 on a given night. But these events are becoming more popular, so it is possible that Disney may be selling more tickets to each event.
Also, people not attending the MSNNHP who are still in the park after 6pm are not forcibly ejected from the park. Some of these people remain in the park, just strolling along watching the events and all the costumed people. They cannot ride the rides, nor trick or treat.

:thumbsup2 :lmao:

Usually there is also some kind of event at the Boardwalk and I think that one may be kid-friendly. I don't think PI has "costume events" anymore. How could they now with the stages closed and half the place torn up? There's been a lot of folks going over there in costume to visit the clubs, though.

If my son could wear his costume and trick or treat around DTD, that would be good.

I'd buy MNSSHP tickets, but my son usually goes to bed at 8 and I'm scared that he'd just fall asleep and the money would be wasted. He's 3. But if I could take him to DTD for free, then he'd like that.

We've been at both the Boardwalk and Grand Floridian on Halloween night and both had a parade for costumed children followed by trick-or-treating around the common areas of the resorts (restaurants, gift shops, etc.). We went to MNSSHP last year on Oct. 30 and expected it to be packed since it was sold out, but the crowd wasn't bad at all.

Does anyone know if Epcot or MGM are usually crowded Halloween night since MK has MNSSHP going on?

We were there last Oct 31 and didn't think it was too crowded at all......... there was certainly a crowd, but we were very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised.

I hope this is not true. From what I have heard the park closes for regular guests at 6 with the party starting at 7 for people who have bought the tickets. I hope they have non paying guests leave by 7. I would hate to think that I paid $160 for my family and some people get to stay for free. This is why they have the wrist bands so they know who should be there and who shouldnt. Hope this post doesnt sound mean. I just dont think people should be able to stay for free when we have paid so much to attend.

10-15k paid guest is a whole lot better than 30-60k. I would think the process of forcing people to leave who don't want to be "found" would be very costly for Disney, people-power wise (and perhaps kind of ugly in some cases).

A very high percentage do seem to leave. I've seen people suddenly lose the ability to speak English to try to hop on a ride, but they do a good job.

Go to the events link on the right side of your screen on the home page of this site...they have a listing of places to trick or treat at in DTD....also Pleasure Island has something going on!

As far as non-paying MNSSHP ...I don't think this happens...and I do agree...if we all paid the price to attend, they should make sure those that didn't don't get in for free...but on the other hand I have to admit, if I were going down and didn't know to purchase MNSSHP tickets in advance, and they were sold out....you are using your ticket-which costs the same for 4 hours as it does for 2 or 12, and you would not get the use of the hours as some others would on non-MNSSHP nights.....so, all in all, I agree that if I have to pay the extra $ to attend....anyone that is in the park past 6:59 pm should also have to pay or leave.

Since the MK crowd is a fraction of the usual for MNSHHP, I don't think the impact on Epcot would be that great. Also, since halloween night is the first to sell out, that leaves a lot of people NOT going to the party on halloween.

Also, the food and wine festival seems to be a pretty big draw at Epcot and I found Epcot to be busier than I expected last Oct.
