A couple of WS questions

I've seen in a couple of guides that there are gardens in Japan but I've never been able to find a picture or a description of the gardens. Does anyone know of any sites that either do a good job of describing them or have pictures? I have a particular fondness for Japanese ornamental gardens and rock gardens and I'd just like to know if I should be excited to see them or if I should take a look but not expect too much.

Also I was browsing through a guide in the bookstore tonight and for the first time I saw a mention of an African section in WS that has what was described as an interractive drum circle. My 11 year old has been fortunate to have a music teacher at his school who teaches the kids African drumming and leads a drum club that he has been in for 3 years and by the time we go my 8 year old will have been in for a semester. They're very interested to know more about this and just exactly how it's interractive, as in will they be able to join the circle but I've never seen this mentioned before so I don't have a clue.

Thanks for any information you can pass on. :sunny:

All Ears . Net has good descriptions and pics of each country. The gardens in Japan are one of my family's favorite spots in world showcase. It's tranquil, cool and green...definitely a spot to stop and notice the beauty of the place. I've seen trees and plants there I've never seen anywhere else. Last year I was there for the Flower and Garden Festival and they had tons of Bonsai, including descriptions and aproximate ages of the trees, they were incredible!

We have not stopped for the drum circle, as every time we happen by there it's always been full, but if it were a priority you can check the times guide (I'm pretty sure it's listed) and get there a bit early. It certainly looks interactive, I'm sure your son will enjoy it.

Japan is tranquil. But China is WONDERFUL, picture perfect.
If you enjoy gardens and scenery, you will love WS.

The Outpost has drums that are out al the time and anyone can beat on them. And they are conveniently located next to the gift shop. :rotfl:

Hi!

An added treat in the Japanese Gardens area is Yakitori House, a relatively inexpensive food place, next to a stream there. Try it!

Thank you all so much :) My kids will love being able to play the drums.I will definitely check out the gardens in both Japan and China. We'll also definitely be eating in one or the other. My 8 year old never passes up a chance to eat noodles with chopsticks. She actually eats spaghetti with chopsticks at home. LOL

As many times as I have been to WDW, I never knew the gardens were there. Last week I was with friends and we walked through them.
