:goodvibes :goodvibes I was just wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me. If I decide to book a DVC by renting points and the owner makes the reservation for me and I decide that I want the dining plan does the owner have to make those arrangements for me? I wasn't sure if he was only responsible for the reservation and once it is in my name I could go ahead and book the dining myself afterward. Also what exactly is pay pal? I see some of the folks are using pay pal to pay their deposits etc. And lastly, my in laws have a DVC is it easier for someone to deposit the points in their account instead of making the reservation for me? Thanks so much and sorry to be such a moron about this stuff but I am trying to get it all figured out.Your all the best!

If you decide to use the dining plan, the member making the reservation for you can call member services and add it to your reservation. You would pay at the time of check-in.

PayPal is an Internet based payment plan. It started several years ago, mostly with eBay. If you wanted to use it to make a payment, you would have to open an account with them and link the account to your credit card or bank account.

Personally, if I were renting points to someone, I would prefer to transfer them to another DVC member instead of worrying about making a reservation for someone who's not a DVC member. In that regard, for me, it would be better to transfer them to your in-laws and they can handle the reservation for you. But it's really what you would be more comfortable with, and what the member you're getting the points from would be more comfortable with.

Once the reservation is made by the owner they will give you a confirmation number. With this number you can book your own dinig plan.
Paypal is a pay service on the internet. It allows us, as owners, to accept credit cards. Usually if you pay this way expect a 3% add to any rental cost agreement to cover paypal fees.
Would it be easier for in-laws DVC account.....maybe. Once your in-laws get points transferred into their account you work with them on the ressie not a stranger. So there may be more of a comfort factor. Costs should be the same regardless.

Yes, it would be easier for everyone, risk-free for the owner you rent points from, and you would be in complete control of your reservation. Just be sure you understand the ins and outs of booking, cancellation, etc, so you don't mess up your in-laws account. Also be sure that whatever points you have transferred will be useable during the period you plan to travel. Good luck.
