I started our two dogs on this today. I am of course mixing it gradually in with their current food. We have a 10 year old mixed breed... lab/retriever and a mini long hair doxie that will be 2 on Sept. 26th. I bought the Sr. for our older dog and the small bites adult for our weenie. Our older dog was on BLUE for a couple of years, but I felt she always had gas and had soft stools..hard to clean up. SO I put her on Nutra Max but I feel she has a lack of energy that she had on BLUE and I wanted her on a better food again. She had started losing hair and I think it is the dogfood. It is excessive shedding. THE OTHER BIG REASON I SWITCHED both dos ...is THEY EAT GRASS ALL THE TIME. It is like they are grazing cattle at times. They don't puke it up later, their stomachs seem fine. SO It got me thinking that they needed some "fruits and veggies" in their diets maybe. :confused3 I went to Pet Smart.... and read bags and searched through their better brands. I went with Innova.... I would love to hear what you like about it, how you think your pets like it and what food did you switch them from if they were not always eating it. Did you see any differences? THANKS!!!!

I have a 4 year old Miniature Pinscher that is currently on Evo by Innova dog food (small bites, the red meat one). She's not really a picky eater but she seems to eat this one more quickly than other dog foods I've tried. She also likes B.G. (Before Grain) by Merrick (the buffalo one). I've tried just about every one of the Taste of the Wild dog foods and even bought Orijen's 6 fish (smelled awful and I bought the largest bag possible :headache:). She's never turned her nose up at any of them and they've all seemed to have the same effect (glossy coat, healthy weight, no allergies, healthy poops ;)), but Evo red meat and B.G. buffalo get eaten with the most fervor :). My brother feeds his Corgi a range of different Innova dog food and he's had good results with all of them.

My bf always bought his dogs Beneful Healthy Weight dog food (he has a lab and a miniature pinscher). The lab ate grass CONSTANTLY. I started buying Evo for them too and she's stopped eating grass (she still does it sometimes, but definitely not as much).

We also have two dachshunds and they love Innova! I buy the small bites for the dry food and was buying the Merrick canned food (Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Grandma's Pot Pie...lol) and I would mix in one tablespoon of the canned food in with the dry. Now that our PetSmart has Innova (and they don't have the Merrick), I started buying the Innova canned food. They love it! I think you'll have good luck with it, too! pluto:pluto:

I started my cat on it about a month ago. The only difference I see is really a smell. His poop is horrible now! We might be switching back to Blue when we're out of the new stuff.

I have been using it for over a year now. I must say that the dogs have silky more beautiful coats since i changed over to it, so I feel that it is good for them and worth the extra cost. it also came highly recommended by all at the grain/feed store where I buy it. One of my cavaliers has stomach issues and it works well for her.

Thanks for the replies. I hope ours do well on it. Our big dog is eating it mixed with her old food just fine. Our doxie doesn't eat much....hard to tell if she likes it or not. Time will tell I guess.
