A couple of Beach Club questions

Is there a fridge in all the rooms, and would I be able to fit a gallon sized container of milk in the fridge? Also, is the bus transportation from the Beach Club really that bad? I've read reports stating that the lines for the BC heading back from the Magic Kingdom are horrible, and that the waits for the Typhoon Lagoon bus are really long. Should I expect no seats and long waits when using the buses in July?

Yes.

I doubt it. They are the size of your typical mini-bar. Some people call them "dorm-sized."

I don't know; I drive.

I've never seen long lines at the hotel itself...no huge lines of people waiting. Not like I look every time I leave or anything, but I'd probably have noticed a big group.

It's the bus. You'll wait for it no matter where you're going, but I can't see the wait being longer for the Beach Club than any other hotel. Not sure, of course, but it wouldn't make any sense to me.

At the Beach Club hotel, I believe it is a mini-fridge. At the Beach Club Villas (part of DVC),the studio has a mini-fridge, but it is the "half-counter" size - just below the counter and a little larger. The larger villas have full refrigerators.

As far as the buses go, I've been disappointed with the service when we've stayed there. The route is often shared with the Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk and always with the YC. It can get quite crowded for that reason. If you have to make ADRs and are using the bus, please give yourself extra time; the best scenario is that you get there a little early - no big deal there. It is easy to get stressed otherwise. By all means, use alternate transport if you can - walk to Epcot, take a watercraft to MGM. I love this area, but the bus transportation (not the drivers!:goodvibes ) is insufficient.

The BC bus service does get the short end of the stick a little bit. Morning buses usually stop at the YC first. As a result, if there is a big crowd at the YC stop (which often happens for morning MK buses), that can fill up the bus, such that no or few BC people can get on the bus.

As for buses heading back, I have not seen the lines for the BC buses be especially long. These buses are usually shared with some or all of the other Epcot resorts, so there is no reason BC would be singled out in that regard. However, I do have a little bit of a trick to this: I always take the first bus that arrives that is going to any of the Epcot resorts. I then just get off that bus at the first stop and walk back to my resort (usually the YC). At MK, for example, there are two stops for the Epcot resort buses and they are right next to each other (I think one stop serves S/D/BW and the other serves YC/BC). I wait in the general area and whichever of those buses arrives first, I just take that one. It is then a short walk from the other Epcot resorts back to the YC. (I admit this may not work if you are leaving the park at a time when there are long lines at all the bus stops; otherwise, though, it works great in cutting down wait time for the buses.)

Overall, I think the WDW bus system is pretty good and BC bus service is good as a result.
