Have to admit Im upset theres an upper age limit on the Pooh area too have been in there pretending to have kids lol! Its just not fair! I like spongy floors.

Anyway what I thought of was asking to ride at the front of the monorail with the driver. I know its not really an Adult only thing but if you are hoping around the lake Id ask. My fave trip is over to EPCOT at the front. Just ask the attendant when you come up to the monorail platform and they'll direct you to where you can wait. Sometimes you may have to wait for the next one but I always think it adds to the fun of it all. You have to do the EPCOT route in the normal way too though as in the front you don't get the commentary and I always like that bit. It tells you a bit about the park before you get there (with the return journey telling you about Magic Kingdom and the resorts)

How about a horse drawn carriage ride? POR, WL and FW all have them. They are $35 for a half hour and they are very romantic. DW and I have done one each of the last five years.

No definately not a kid thing! Ive done it loads and never with kids. Also they sometimes have 'Monorail driver' cards and some of the drivers will give these out (I may be 27 but I love free stuff even if it is just a card)

Oh thought of another thing. There are Quests you can get from the old cinema store on Main Street (dont know the official name but its recognisable). They have them on the stands in there and are free to do. If you get them right you win a trading card thing that you can use online in Virtual Magic Kingdom. This however can be fun as its like a mini treasure hunt around one or more of the areas within MK. It's great fun.

DH and I don't have children and we are planning our 8th and 9th trips in 10 years and have recently bought into DVC. DH wasn't a fan at the start, but now that we've traveled elsewhere, DH says for the $$ we spend on vacations, WDW is the place to be! (I'm 31 and DH is 35)
We love PI (although DH still hates Mannequins) Jellyrolls is fun if you like dualing pianos. DH's fave hangout is the world showcase at Epcot. There is so much to see and do (not to mention "sample" ) and really is more geared toward adults. The Sea Rayers are $30 for 60 minutes and are alot of fun. I will say, there are better tours then the Segway though.
US and IOA SUCK! We went twice and we'll NEVER go back! The lines are long and unless you pay an additional $25 you're going to be waiting in line forever. the parks aren't as big or as clean, the food is more expensive and it's nearly a mile walk from the parking area to the gate (no trams or shuttle service) Furthermore, their staffs (CM at the WDW) aren't the friendliest people and we've heard on several occasions from US/IOA staff that if "you want service, go to Disney." The parks are small and there isn't even a back lot tour at US. Overall, for the money it cost ($105, per person, for a 2 park 2 day pass plus an additional $100 so we could actually ride instead of waiting in line) No thanks. It's a serious waste of $$, but it would teach your DH the value of Disney! (worked for mine!!)

Can't wait, it is still over 6 months away but I am online almost every day obsessively viewing disney sites!
Waiting very impatiently to start making our ADR's.
Planning on 14 nights of just pure relaxation, overeating, and fun fun fun!!!
I would add to what the others have said about the Adventure Club and Comedy Club at Pleasure Island.... Don't miss them!
We really eat up the pin trading thing too.
Although there have been several past visits to WDW this thread has given me several new ideas, so thanks everyone for sharing. It seems no matter how many times you go, there is always something fun and new to discover.
Can't wait to try out the tip on the divers at the Coral Reef.... We are both Scuba Divers and she will just get the greatest kick out of a surprise message like that!

We've always had the opposite experience. We normally go during the last week in Feb. and we always find the lines shorter at US/IOA than at Disney. We've also found their food to be about the same as Disney (both sitdown and counter service). You can also get great ticket deals at US/IOA. My sister paid $86 for a 7 day ticket, while I paid 180 for a two year annual pass. You can't hate that! We normally spend 2-3 days of our 9 day trip at US/IOA.

Don't get me wrong I am a HUGE disney fanatic; DVC owner, AP holder and former CM but US/IOA are different and do offer a good product as well. On a side note...this trip my sister said IOA had the cleanest bathrooms she saw all trip, and boy we saw a lot of them!

If I asked both of your what attractions you remember liking at disney, what would each pick?
How many days are you planning on being in the park.

DH & I have done 5 adults only trips. We do a tour every time. By far the best we've been on is the Backstage at Animal Kingdom.


As I say to everyone who asks..... Disney World is a Wondrful place! It's a shame to waste it on children.

How old are ya'll??? The Adventurer's Club is really neat, but it will cost you 20 each to get in...however...that includes ALL the Clubs on PI.

A FREE thang to do is to be on the Poly's beach for fireworks...it is romantic, altho I wouldn't go in dress clothes after dinner...make sure you don't mind a little sand. There are hammocks for 2 and bench swings.

Just a thought.

We're staying at the FQ but thought this would be a great way to see the fireworks instead of being stuck in the middle of the Magic Kingdom watching them.

Also, about PI. I found in my handy travelers guide that Guests must be 21 to be admited but the AC and CW you have to be 18 and accompanied by someone at least 21. THEN it goes on to say that "There is no longer an admission fee (doors usually open at 7 p.m.)." But then farther down in that paragraph: "Admission to Pleasure Island venues is an option with the "Water Park Fun and More" add-on for the Magic Your Way Ticket." I"M CONFUSED! Is there a fee or not? Is there a fee into PI and then NOT to get into the separate bars? I'm confused! I haven't been to DW 8 years and I was only 14 then. Alot of this stuff is new!

Hey!! My Dbf and I are heading to WDW in June, we are already signed up for the Keys to the Kingdom tour, which he has already been on, but I have not. Do you think that adding the Animal Kingdom tour would be overkill? We will be there for 5 days, I was going to look into this tour but hadn't heard anything about it. What is the name of the tour that you did at AK?

My DH and I went alone in 2004 - mid 40s. Some of our favorite things:

Taking the resort monorail around the whole route at night
Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood Brown Derby - preferred seating at Fantasmic - really good value - we got the best from the menu!

Walking around and exploring Deluxe resorts and lobbies

Walking down the Boardwalk at night - watching the "street performers" there - sitting on a bench by the water looking at the lights on the water

Being one of the first on Safari at AK in the morning!

Having coffee and pastries on the balcony in the morning

I like some of the other suggestions here - I'll have to look them up for our trip alone next year! Thanks everyone!

Yes it does mean that. If you get a bus from FQ over to Magic Kingdom you can then either catch the boat over to the Poly (from the dock next to the monorail entrance) or catch the monorail around to the Poly. You can also get a boat from the same dock over the Grand Floridian and then walk along the beach front pathway down to the Poly which is nice

OK walking into PI itself is free (used to have to pay to walk in but now you don't). They used to allow children in but they have made it over 18's only now I believe (not 100% sure on this sorry as over 21). Basically you can purchase admission to 1 club or a multi-club pass or you can use one of the 'Water Park Fun and More' options on your MYWT assuming you have purchased this option. 1 option will give you access to all the clubs down there on 1 night. Hope this makes sense? Some clubs such as the Adventurers Club do an open house (free entry) up until a certain time in order to give people a taste of the club (or did last time I was there). When you go in after this time however you get a wrist band and have your ticket scanned. This is the only way you can then get a drink and get in to the other clubs after this time. I have a feeling Adventurers club had Open House until 9pm but Im not sure

Could I chime in about the boats? I went on them last trip and it is a great value and so much fun. It is $30 - and they didn't charge us for the xtra 15 minutes! I love it - and I also have done the Segway tour. Really fun, too.

I also really like watching the fireworks and Electric Light parade from the POLY beach. It is very romantic - especially with an adult beverage.

And do try Raglan Road. the food is inexpensive, good and innovative. The corny entertainer is fun - and use the ferry to go from one end of DTD to the other. It is free and fun. Another nice boat ride is the boat from Epcot to the Studios around the Epcot resorts and back again - or stop off on the Boardwalk for a while and watch the performers.

The FAntasmic dinner package is an expensive way to see the show. I never stand in line or wait for an hour for the show. I come in at the last minute and find a seat somewhere and enjoy it. I find that much more fun, myself.

One thing DF and I really enjoyed doing was watching the sunset from a hammock at Caribbean Beach Resort. It was so soothing and relaxing.

Also, 'Ohana at the Polynesian has a really pretty Hawaiian performer who sings, dances and plays the Ukalele with the kids. She invites any adults who want to join and she also did a love song for couples to slow dance to. So much fun!

We did this last October. Im not a big dancer but hey we were at Disney and I wanted to make it a special trip. It was definetly a great night.

I am a DIS posting newbie but I have been a thread lurker on and off for the past two years. (Part of the reason I haven't registered before is that we don't have the internet at home so I have to troll at work. Anyway, that is neither here nor there) So forgive me if this question has been answered a million times.

Okay. I am wondering what things we can do as adults to add some magic to our stay? My DH and I are planning an off-site trip to Disney in Sept 2008. (read= I am planning a trip to Disney and my DH is tagging along) I have been to Disney several times as an adult with my family and this is his first time to Disney as an adult. I've always had an absolute blast everytime I've gone. This will be our first couple trip to Disney and I want his experience to be a positive one. We aren't really big on going out and partying it up but we still might check out Pleasure Island.

Also, all the things that I have read about couples in Disney requires a lot of money. For our splurge at Disney I am planning on doing the Segway Around the World tour so we don't have a lot extra to spend. DH doesn't like the spa and we can't really afford a big nice meal at a really nice restaurant. We plan on checking out some of the Deluxe resorts but what other activities are there for couples?

I'd appreciate any suggestions you can give me. Thanks!

DD offers a lot of entertainment options for couples. My DW and I enjoy both the Comedy Club and the Adventurer's Club. On our 30th Anniversary, I even got to go onstage and bump and grind w/Samantha. Woo Hoo!
