A College Girls Disney Adventure

All day I've been craving chocolate cake...and then I read your update and that cupcake has me wanting to take a trip to the bakery:thumbsup2 Great update!!

It's interesting when that happens isn't it? I find myself craving certian foods after being on here as well. My mom does this too but i'm the one who does the majority of Disney Food/ Activity research. My brother is getting married in December and they are going to Disney for their Honeymoon so now we are looking at fun, romantic places for them to go to and do. But all of these tips I hear are always going to to back of my mind, especailly when food is concerned.:rolleyes1.

Great update! The food looks SO GOOD! I love the pic with you and goofy! I'll have to stop at pop (unless I'm staying there) and take that same pic!

Thanks :) I'm glad to hear that I have had a influence in your future trips :). and yeah the food was really good! My mom was disappointed because she didn't get to try the butterfinger cupcake. I would defintely reccomend a visit to starring rolls cafe.

Thanks for the new update. It almost looked like their was no one at the luau. Food looked yummy.

No Problem, and yeah there weren't a lot of people at the luau. I guess many people didn't want to stand in the cold. It was probably in the 5o's at that point so we were just fine with it. My Mom and brother went to Disney one time when pretty much there entire trip was chicago temp :(. i was fine if it was at least 10 degrees warmer than it was at home. For most of the trip my weather desires were defintely met. The only time that it was 2 cold for me was our last night there while we were waiting for illuminations. Luckily that was at the end of the day though.

Once again Hi Everyone :)

So my Brother and his fiance have entered this ultimate wedding contest sponsored by crate and Barrel. If any of you have the chance or don't have other people in the contest you need to vote for then please vote for my brother and his fiance. They are both new music teachers and this could be a great opportunity for them. Here's the link

Great SOA update. It looks much better than I thought it would be and the food actually looks pretty good. SOA always seems to be on my want to try list but it never seems to get any good reviews, plus it would mean no 'Ohana and I just don't know if I could do without 'Ohana bread pudding.

Good luck to your brother and finance. I will try to remember to vote as much as I can.

Thank you soooo much! They will defintely appreciate it. the voting system is a little weird though so I'm not sure how many votes in people will get. If you keep creating new screenames for crate and barrel I know that works as well as Facebook. As for my trip report, I definetly reccomend it! It's a little corny as far as the story line goes but our trips wouldn't be the same without it! On a similar note I know what you mean about ohana's. I have never eaten there but ever since joining the DIS I find myself wanting to try it soooooo badly! But once again, that would mean no luau :(. Maybe sometime on a longer trip I will finally get to try it . That's one of the main things I love about the DIS actually, now I have several things I have read about people doing in there trip reports that I really want to try. Another thing that is on the top of my list is more time at Downtown Disney, we are always spending so much time in the parks that we never have much time for downtown Disney. :sad1:
On my next update that I am posting very soon (maybe before 1pm?) We tried something new that we defintely want to try again on future trips that I can't wait to share with everyone!

Hi Everyone :) so I left off last time with us leaving the Poly and getting some beauty sleep and going to both Epcot and Possibly Magic Kingdom. Well, originally our plan for this day was just epcot. Then that plan changed because we had recently discovered that both of our magic kingdom days were going to be during the marathon and we were worried about not getting to ride all the rides we wanted to during that time span. So the new plan was to go to epcot in the morning and Le cellier (Sp?) for lunch before hitting the MK for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Did that plan end up coming to be? Well you'll just have to wait and see :rolleyes1. So we woke up around 8 am and we went and got some drink refills and a small breakfest (we didn't want to be 2 full for le cellier later on. So we arrived shortly after opening time and managed to get a couple of great pictures with...STITCH!!!!! yep, it was awesome!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few pictures from our photo shoot with this loveable alien.

After we did that our first stop of the morning was...SOARIN!!!!!!!! We got to the land and managed to snag a reasonable fastpass time, I believe that it was right around noon if i'm not mistaken. After that we went right on over to ...TEST TRACK!!!!!!!! As most people i'm sure have realized by now whether or not they have used it is that test track has a single rider line ( I beileve that they were the ones who pioneered the whole concept by I could be wrong). in case you couldn't tell from our forbidden journey or rockin roller coaster experience or if you are a new subscriber my mom and I practically worship single rider lines :worship:. If they are there we will use them. If it is our first time riding a ride we will either stand in the standby line or get a fast pass and then opt for single rider on future rides of the ride. Anyhow, back to the trip report. After we rode test track we ended up riding Spaceship Earth. We absolutely love this ride and it is a must-do for us. When they had the old version that was our first and last ride of the trip. That wasn't necessarily true for our last couple of trips since they had the new verison. Don't get me wrong, it is still on our must-do list it's just that timing and other things have made it so that plan doesn't necessarily work out. Before I go on with this I should probably explain one important detail about my mom. She use to be a kindergarten teacher before she had kids and then took a teaching job for one year after I was in 6th grade. Now she babysit for one of the neighborhood kids who is right around kindergarten age. The point is, she LOVES anything that is cheesy and annoying because of this. That would include Little kid songs, decorating our house for any happy ocassion, decorating t-shirts and overalls for any ocassion and finally....CHEESY VIDEOS OF ANY KIND!!!!! SO it probably goes with out saying that she absolutely LOVES the new ending to spaceship earth. We rode that ride about 3-4 times that trip and she never stopped taking our pictures in the welcome to the future video. One time we wanted to send a postcard to a bunch of friends and family and took a picture of the postcard she sent them when it appeared on the screen. I find the video amusing but not like she does. That kind of gives you and idea of how that ride went. Here are some of the pictures she sent. I never post the spaceship earth photos on facebook because they are a little embarassing to share with people who are not uber-Disney fans.

Ok, now that I am done with that rant lets move on to the rest of the day. After we got off of spaceship earth we decided to go to the imagination pavilion. We first off did Imagination which was nice as always but then we realized when we got off that the imagework station was being revamped. Mostly everything was still there except...the postcard station. My mom was more upset about this than I was. While I found the results entertaining, I personally felt that we had done this 2 many times in our trips and it just wasn't fun for me anymore so needless to say we moved on, easier for me than for my mom. We did however have lots of fun exploring the rest of image works. I enjoyed conducting figment in the music section. We also had fun stopping on the sound squares right by the music area. After that we decided to check out the new (kind of) Captian EO show. I had never seen this show since it closed before my first Disney Trip so I was a little excited to see it. My mom had seen the show on trip with my dad and brothers so she remembered it well and was telling me things about the show. We filed inside the waiting area and while waiting they showed us a video about the making of Captian EO, it's "state of the art" technology and even talked about Micheal Jackson. They then also assured the audiences that it would be exactly like it was in the 80's :upsidedow. The audience then filed into the theater and got our 3D glasses :3dglasses. Not long after we sat down they announced a brief introducion to the show and then it began. hmmmm, what did I think of the show? That is actually a more complex question than it seems. While I liked the singing and dancing aspect and i understand why this show is such a big deal (since it's star is now dead) I can't really say I liked it. I felt think the whole thing was very cheesy and the video seemed to have really bad quality compared to the technology i'm use to. I guess i'm being really picky but the whole thing just didn't sit well with me. My mom liked it despite the fact it was really cheesy so I guess I will still be seeing it on future trips. :worried:. After that it was time for Soarin, I just LOVE this ride!!!!!!!!! It is defintely a must do! I just love the whole flying sensation and just how something that seems so simple is really amazing. We always try and get the front row when we go on it because to us the 2nd and 3rd rows just aren't the same to us. I know that seems really snobby but I guess everyone has something at Disney there like that about right? After that fantastic flight we were off to Canada where we still had a 1/2 hour before our Reservation at Le Cellier! With that in mind we looked around Canada for a few minutes checking out the shops and then we noticed people lining up towards "O Canada" We went down there (taking a couple of pics along the way) and found out that they were just about to have a showing. After checking the time and finding out how long the show was we realized that we just barely had enough time to see it :yay:. Even though i'm not canadian I still love this show. Martian Short is very entertaining for me. I also like hearing about all of these canadian landmarks. My favorite part of the show is when they show all the famous canadians. We also had a very cute cast member introducing the show before it began and he told us that texting was actually a concept that originated in canada (Thank You!). He also told us that his part of canada was right by niagara falls and that his town is home to a delicious donut shop. :cloud9:. After watching O Canada we went to Le cellier for lunch.
Before I forget here are some of the pictures we took from spaceship earth up to our check in at Le Cellier.

Next Up: Lunch at Le Cellier and Do we go to MK or do we think of a new plan?

Great update and great pictures.....I am Canadian and I love the movie :lmao: Martin Short cracks me up...especially in his curling outfit!!:lmao:

can't wait to hear your review of Le Cellier!

Hi everyone :) So last time I posted we were off 2 Le Cellier. When we got there we were only about a couple of minutes late:o Any way we waited a few minutes before we got seated. Here are a couple of pics I took while we waited for our table.

P1060186.jpg

After we took a couple of pics we noticed our name being called. We were greeted by a CM outside and were lead into the seating area. He was very nice and helpful. Now my mom and I like to collect kids menus when we eat at the Disney Table service restaraunts. I know this sounds crazy and childish but we like to color on the menus and participate in the activities. (This will come into play later in the trip as well). We never actually order off of these though. So anyway back to the TR. So the server got us 2 kids menus :yay: we were very excited and thanked him :). The kids menu thing became a little teasing banter between us and the CM's (In a friendly way of course :)). After this he told us who our server was going to be and said they were going to be by in a few minutes. We then looked over the menu and were trying to figure out what we wanted when our server showed up. I can't say enough nice things about him. He was so pleasant and helpful (I really wish I had written down his name as a reccomendation to all of you). He helped us figure out what we wanted. We decided to order the filet mingon with the cheesy potatoes (I know these have a fancier name but I can't remember what it was and don't feel like checking). Very soon after we placed our order the bread came out :) :) :) I know there is a sourdough one and another type of bread but I really don't remember much about them since my (and my mom's) eyes were on the... PRETZEL BREAD!!!!!! Seriously that stuff is amazing! We devoured it in literally seconds. I think we got a refill of it though :yay:. Then a little while later we got our steaks. Seriously this steak is AMAZING!!!!! I loved it so much!!! My mom and I barely talked as we ate cuz we enjoyed it so much! As we were finishing up the steaks my mom had to us the restroom. While she was gone I started talking to the family next to us. I asked them if they were participating in the marathon (Something you can ony ask to complete strangers in Disney) and they said yes. They were actually doing both the 5K and the 1/2 marathon. I was super impressed! Their son then told me that the 5K had been a whole family activity. I was seriously impressed at this point. This little kid can run more distance than I could probably do. (I try to run about once a week in the summer but that is only 2 miles). Anyway back to my TR. So after we had this conversation our waiter came (My mom was back at this point) and asked us if we wanted any dessert. Of course We did want dessert but we weren't sure what to get. Eventually we decided on the S'more since we had noticed someone else order it and we had heard great things about it from my aunt! We were not sure what to expect since we had never had it before and it didn't look super appitizing, however it sounded good so we tried it. Let me tell you the dessert DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Seriously it was awesome :yay:. I was 2 full to finish it though so we had the smore on a stick wrapped up to go. Remember me telling you early on in the trip report that I was there celebrating my graduation? Well, up to this point most restaraunts did not address it :(. However, when I got my dessert at Le Cellier I noticed they had written Congratulations on my plate :) :) :) It was so nice of them and I didn't even remember mentioning it to them. It was a nice moment. After we enjoyed our dessert we washed up, payed the bill and headed back into the park. Here are some pics from our wonderful meal!

After our meal we headed back out into epcot. here comes the defining moment of our day, Do we continue with our plan and go to Magic Kingdom or do we think of another plan?

Continued in the Next Post

popcorn:: Nice TR. We are going down to WDW in like 59 days. Going to try my first TR when we get back. :thumbsup2

After we had our meal we debated about going to Magic kingdom or not. We ultimately decided that since we were more than half way through our day and MK closed earlier that day there was no good reason to do all of that traveling for no good reason. We then started to walk towards mexico and then we thought about how disney was going to be in December when my brother and his fiancee go there for their honeymoon. We then realized that they had the back door entrance to the boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club and The Swan and Dolphin. We then decided that we wanted to check out the resort area so we could give them first hand knowledge of what it would be like staying there. We also had a couple of questions about little surprises we wanted to give them for there Honeymoon (Bride and Groom Mickey ears and a mini christmas tree were the ones we had thought of at this point) and some questions about they would reccommend traveling around the world the next day since it was the dreaded marathon day and the people at pop century weren't very helpful. Instantly we made that our new plan. We called my dad at home as we went to mexico to see which hotel they were staying in (we knew it was the swan and dolphin but we didn't remember if they had the swan or the dolphin building (we also got them some gifts themed to their Honeymoon!). We found out from my Dad that they were at the Swan. After receiving this info we went to mexico and Norway and then reversed directions and headed towards international gateway. Once we reached England we noticed that the World Showcase players we going to come on. My mom and I have a very interesting story with this particular group of performers. We always enjoy them and we always opt to watch there shows if we are near by. My mom is normally very engaged in this show and is a very active participant and so am I. This makes the troupe members not very keen to pick one of us since they like to pray on the unsuspecting. Well one trip my freshman year of high school we went with my school choir. I was with some of my classmates and we were walking around world showcase to get to future world. When we approached italy (They trade off locations between England and Italy) we notice they are performing. One of our group members wants to go shopping in italy so we pass the show to get there. The same classmate notices the show and says to me "Isn't that your mom?" and sure enough I look over there and see my mom playing the Juliet Role in there crazy mixed up version of Romeo and Juliet. We sit there and watch it for a little bit (and me being the good daughter that I am, I take a phone pic and send it to my brother). Later on once I met up with my family after the rest of my school left I find out that my mom was texting someone not paying close attention to the show when they picked her. Isn't that interesting. Anyway back to this trip. The show we saw this time was King Arthur and the holy grail. It was soooo funny to watch how the people acted during the show. The older guy they chose to be the King was AWESOME!!!!!! After the show it was almost 5 so we decide to head on over to see the resorts. Here are some pics from our journey (sorry I don't have any pics from when my mom was in the show).

Next Post: Our Tour around the epcot resorts!!!!! (I loved this part of the day, even though I was freezing- another point though)

Hi everyone :) Just wanted to say Hi. Things were pretty bust this weekend because we were helping my oldest brother move out of his best friend since was a few month old's house. His friend is getting married so they are now moving in together, and my brother is the best man for this wedding as well, and my brother has moved into a condo about and hour from where I live. so that is exciting! His new place is really nice and has a pool that we are looking forward to using in the Summer :).. Then on sunday my other brother, the one who is getting married, and his fiance were picking out their wedding invitations! my mom and I helped them pick out a pretty winter themed invitation set. Next sunday I am going to try on my bridesmaid dress so I am really looking forward to that! I am also trying to convince my mom to join the DISboards so hopefully that goes well too! So many things have been happening so I though you might enjoy this update. I should be back later today with an update.

Wow...lots of changes for everyone!! When you try on your bridesmaids dress...are you going to post a picture?:thumbsup2

Hey there...thought I'd join in even though I'm a little late. I love all your pictures in your fun poses. My sister made fun of me for putting my arms up in the air, like in your pic in front of the DHS tree. But it's way more fun than just standing there! haha

HARRY POTTER! Isn't it awesome there? We went in August and had such a good time.

Oh, and that caramel cupcake looks amazing. Yum!

Of course :) This visit I am just getting my measurements for my dress, I guess I will be trying it on for that. i'm new to the whole actually being in a wedding thing so I have no idea how any of this stuff works.
