A College Girls Disney Adventure

Hi everyone :) So since I have some spare time right now I decided to give all of you another trip update :). So last time I left of right around when we went to exhibition everest. After Killimanjaro safaris the walk to exhibition everest was pretty quick. We decided to opt for the single rider line since that one was pretty quick. We rode everest 3 times and each time was around a fifteen minute wait (as an oppose to the 60 minute wait it had the day we were there). When my mom and I came in August 2009, we walked on single riders 6 times so we were pretty use to the routine. I always opt for single riders if that is an option because my mom and I have ridden these rides together many times before and the wait is lot quicker. here are a couple of our ride pictures

After Exhibition everest we thought that it looked like rain was comming so we decided to go over to "It's Tough To Be a Bug" and leave the park after that. My mom and I love taking pictures in the tree of life line so we were actually sad when we realized how quick the line was moving (I know, How unusual!). We got into the movie within 5 Minutes. Afterwards we decided to take lots of pictures by the tree of life to make up for this. Here are our pics for the ride

After the photoshoot I was getting a little annoyed with all the picture taking since this was our nicest day so far and wanted to go swimming. we went to the parking lot and had no problems finding our car since we texted the car's location to each other. This may seem like a dorky system but it is how we remember the car and hasn't failed us yet. When we got back to the hotel we decided to head to the computer pool even though it wasn't our closest pool to the room. When we go back it was around 3:15 so we decided to go swimming untill 4:15 and then go back to the room to get ready for chef mickey's (warning: this is one of my favorite meals on property, I just love the atmosphere, location, and the magic of the whole place). I will definitely be needing a whole seperate report for this meal. We have a whole ritual we do where we go shopping at the contemporary, sometimes play in the arcade- yes, i do like arcades and am not ashamed to admit it!, watch wishes from the 4th floor balcony, and of course eat at chef mickey's! all of that will be comming up next!

Hi everyone, so i just remembered that I wanted to play a game with all of you DISers. My mom and aunt started this tradition after one of my aunts vacations to either door county or disney (can't remember which) and we have been doing this game every since with my aunt and cousins whenever one of us goes on vacation to one of these 2 places. So the premise is very simple- guess where in the world this picture was taken. Trust me, it's fun! It also helps the missing disney world blues go away. I will post up 2 pictures at a time and you will have to guess where in Disney the picture was taken. After a 2 day period (so on Thursday) I will repost the picture with the answer. Are you ready? With out further ado here are your first picture clues.

Good Luck with the challenge everyone :) Can't wait to see where in the world you think these pictures were taken.

Was the top one at Epcot in the France area?

I don't know where the 2nd was! We never saw Winnie the Pooh when we were there!!
Did you know that Winnie the Pooh was named after my city "Winnipeg"
That's right!! That's where the owner came across the little bear!!
We have a statue of him at our city zoo!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this. This week was a very busy week for me at school. So now since I have some time I decided to give you the answers to my photo challenge.

Picture #1 was at... The Fountian near the kidcot fun stop in Italy

Picture #2 was at... Toy Solider at the United Kingdom

Hi Everyone,

So i'm sorry I haven't given you a trip update in a while, that should change within the next couple of days. While your waiting for my trip report I thought you might enjoy this food journal that i began. I'm kind of a secret disney foodie and really enjoy writing these reviews. Here is my food journal from my trip that i'm writing my trip report on.

Hey hon...folllowed you over from our report:goodvibes You are doing a great job...I love your posts about WWOHP...I can't wait to visit!! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

So after we went swimming my mom and I got ready and then drove over to Chef Mickey's. As you may remember me saying earlier I absolutely LOVE chef Mickey's. So we wanted to be sure we got there with plenty of time to explore. by the time we got there it was 7 and we had a 8 o'clock dinner so we chose to go shopping and then go fix our hair up for the picture and then go and check in. So all of the shops at the contemporary is on the 4th floor and they are all right next to each other so that helps make the shopping easier. We went to both Fantasia and the BVW (I think it's those initials) stores. Here are some pictures.

So after we went shopping we decided to go fix our hair and then check in. We were in a very small line to get our pagers and then we waited to get our pictures taken. Once we took our pictures we waited for about 20-30 minutes :( to get in. Luckily we were there during wishes so we went out to the observation deck. Here are some pictures from check-in and waiting.

Next Post: our actual meal and monorail ride.

So now it is time for me to go into details about our meal :). So once we got seated we had some time to get food before the characters came up (unfortunately we had JUST missed Minnie and Mickey :(). The best part of this meal for me was the mickey mouse ravioli. it is SOOOOO good! The rest of the main dishes were only ok in my opinon. What I really like here is the desserts. They have a make your own sundae bar and many tiny treats like brownies and cookies. My mom and I usually take some in a napkin for the road :). Of course the absolute reason to come here is the character interactions. Goofy kept trying to kiss me which was hillarious. The other characters were great 2! here are some meal pictures :)

I actually just posted the answers to the quiz on the thread. In case you missed them the first one was in Italy and the 2nd one was at the Toy Solider in the UK.

Oh Thanks :), I had just gotten it for christmas and I was very excited to wear it! I didn't actually buy the antennae topper since we had already gotten our one for the trip :(. I did like it though! My mom has a few friends who also have birthdays that are a day apart. I just love finding little connections like that.

Joining in

I love your trip report so far.

As much as I love Disney, I love Universal too. I am so excited to see WWOHP im May. Your pictures are great and gave me a little preview.

I really want to try Three Broomsticks and frozen butterbeer.:yay: (I love all the Harry Potter movies so I am a little too excited!)

Chef Mickey's is awesome. The dinner food were okay, but I loved the dessert items too. I really loved the little cheesecake:love: You got some cute character pictures.

Love Boma and AKL too! You are covering some of my favorite places so I can't wait to see morepopcorn::

I've also been reading your food reviews, but don't think I commented (sorry I am a food porn lurker. I never really have any comments, just like to see the pictures and hear about the places I want to try)

hi everyone :) So I'm going to do a massive update today and tomorrow since i'm going to be going down to visit my grandmother down in florida on sunday through a week from this saturday so hopefully I provide enough updates to keep you entertained for a while. (unfortunately I won't be in disney :(). I beileve that I left off with me having just gotten back from the contemporary. So the next day we got up on the later side of the day. We got up and got a quick drink to go and went on our way. luckily for us Disney studios is really close to pop century so that took no time at all. we then decided to go straight towards tower of terror and rockin roller coaster to check out the wait times. We decided to get the fastpass for rockin roller coaster since the tower of terror line is the better line to wait in. On our way there we happened to notice that rockin roller coaster has a SINGLE RIDER LINE!!!! We were very excited since we use that option whenever it is available. Unfortunately the line wasn't open but we convinced one of the workers to ope the line for us. we practically walked on the ride 2 times :) defintely a great start to the day :) before going over to tower of terror we decided to get a picture with the huge guitar outside the ride.

oh and before I forget here are our ride pictures

After riding tower of terror a couple of times we decided to go over and get some lunch and min and bill's dockside diner. We opted for a cookie for our comes with it dessert and didn't particular enjoy it. The pretzel dog was excellent though! We then decided to try another treat at starring rolls instead of continue eating the cookies. I got a eclair and my mom tried to chocolate peanut butter cupcake.we would have shared but i'm not a fan of peanut butter. We both enjoyed our desserts.here are some pictures

Afterwards we went to go use the fastpasses we had gotten for toy story mainia (sorry I forgot to meniton that earlier). My mom unfortunately won this time :(. after that we went over to Voyage of the little mermaid which was great as always. We were waiting for a while though in that holding room :(. After that we went over to the great movie ride which we took a couple of cycles to get through. Our last activity of the day before we went back to get ready for the luau was the art of animation where we went through the drawing academy and saw the show. (btw we were getting nervous because it was off and on raining this day :(.) We actually drew TIGGER!!!! I felt like mine wasn't very good but my mom insisted on taking a picture of both of ours and didn't think mine was that bad. unfortunately for you guys I somehow can't find the picture :sad2:;). after that we went back to the resort, posed with the surfer goofy statue by our room building and got ready for the luau.

P1060116.jpg

Up Next: Will the rain ruin the luau?

Great update! The food looks SO GOOD! I love the pic with you and goofy! I'll have to stop at pop (unless I'm staying there) and take that same pic!

All day I've been craving chocolate cake...and then I read your update and that cupcake has me wanting to take a trip to the bakery:thumbsup2 Great update!!

Nice trip report so far! I'm graduating from college in June and we are going to Disney for my graduation present -- so excited!!!

Hi Everyone :) Sorry I've been so terrible about the updates, I was really busy during this past week and I guess time just got away from me. :sad2: Anyhow, The last time I posted we had just gotten back to POP and were getting ready for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show!!!!!!!! I also mentioned to all of you that we had been really nervous because it had been raining on and off again during the day and it looked like it was going to rain as we were getting ready for the luau. I'll let you know now that we were very fortunate that day and it DID NOT rain on us that night! :woohoo: When we got back to the room we didn't have a ton of time to roam around so we decided to forgo our swim and just get ready for the luau. Getting ready went by fairly quickly and both my mom and I had time to update our trip journals which was also nice :) Unfortunately for us we just happened to realize as we were getting ready that we happened to choose a trip time that overlapped with the Disney Marathon thanks to a letter telling us about the different ways that our transportation would be limited:confused:. This wasn't as big of a problem for those people who just take Disney Transportation but for us it was a bigger issue since we just drive our rental car to the parks so we can avoid the transportation hassles the buses bring. I should also mention that the letter strongly discouraged going to magic kingdom or epcot that saturday and sunday :(. We were going to magic kingdom both days and had early morning reservations that appeared to majorly conflict with the marathon times. So needless to say we were very anxious about how we were going to get around those days! :scared1: We just happened to need to stop at a concerige desk anyway to get our luau tickets and we thought that since we were there we would get some answers to our questions about the transportation that day. We thought this would only take a few minutes and we would have time to spare once we arrived at the polynesian. Unfortunately for us the people seemed to think we were going to have some major time shuffling to do on both those days. They thought that sunday's reservation would cause more problems that saturdays reservation- which turned out to not be true at all. Still they gave us a marathon map and explained to us which roads would be closed and which ones would be open just in case we could get to both reservations via car. Once we got everything we needed we were finally on our way to the LUAU!!!!!!!!!! The bad part was that with our little detour we didn't have much time to look at the shops before the luau so we decided to just do our polynesian lobby and shopping pictures later. We then headed straight out to Luau Cove. Here are some pictures from walking into the resort and our walk to luau cove.

I should add in here that they also offer a picture with the package but niether my mom or I actually liked our picture. It was getting colder at this point since the sun was setting (The cast members were all wearing their warmer coats. Since i'm from Chicago where the weather changes as often as the sun rises and sets I didn't have any major issues with it untill the last night of our trip). So this lead to my mom and I hanging out by the shelter with all of the other luau guests. It wasn't too much longer untill we were let into the luau dining/viewing area. We got a great surprise when our host lead us to a seat in the front row towards the left side! These are prenium seats and I guess they decided to upgrade us. Needless to say we needed to get some pictures of the stage and by the stage before the show part started.

The food is all Delicous!!! Those of you who have been reading my TR for a while now know how much I love my dessert but surprisingly the dessert is my least favorite part of this meal. It's good but the main meal and appiteizers are simply outstanding!!!! Next post I will discuss the show and what we did after the luau

I would like to mention a couple of things before we go into the show portion of the show. One thing is that the courses are served a little bit at a time and they have breaks in the show to allow for people to eat and relax. Another thing that I would like to add in here is that this show is offered two times a night so it is somewhat rigid in touring time. They also tend to cancel their shows in the winter if the weather is 2 cold (Another worry of ours since we were there in January) . I also would like to say that everything is prepaid unless you get any kind of cocktail or specialty drink like a Pina Colada (Virgin or Non-Virgin) or a Daquiri (Also Virgin or Non Virgin) or even slushies such as the Lava smoothie I have heard a couple of people talk about on here. Anyway back to the show. So The show is split up into 3 different parts. One part is right around the time you enter and are having the appeitzers. This part consists of the band playing and the introductions of the characters of the show. The theme is that we are all there for a surprise party. I don't want to give 2 much info away so none of these overviews will contain spoilers. The 2nd part of the show features some tutorials on traditional dances from the Polynesian Islands and special ocaission dances as well! Then you get to see some more of the party storyline as well. The last part of the show is more of a traditional luau where each section is given a name of a Polynesian Island and then you witness a bunch of really cool traditional polynesian dances. They continue the family storyline a little bit here and there throughout that part as well. All in all the show is very cheesy but fun as well. Here are some pictures from the show

The amazing fire dancer!!!!!! Seriously this guy is incredible and the pictures don't do it any justice what-so-ever. In our house he is known as david because of Lilo and Stitch!!!!!!

After the show we had about 10 minutes before wishes began so we watched it from the beach which is always fun to do. We had heard rumors that you could hear wishes on speakers on the polynesian beach but they unfortuantely weren't true so we just watched the fireworks and sang what we knew of the wishes music (Which is more than we thought we knew).
