We have an Illuminations Cruise booked for July 6th and I called the number for Recreation to see how many people fit on the boat. Anyway, the first word out of the CM's mouth was "Wow! You have a lot of reservations!" and he seems irritated.
I have no idea how he could see my dining reservations but whatever. I explained that we are trying the Deluxe Dining Plan so that is why we have a lot. We will be there for 8 days and only have 10 ADR's which I don't think is that many, esp. seeing as we are doing the DxDDP(we are only on the DDDP for 4 days though). Anyway, I proceed to ask him about how many will fit on our boat and he tells me 10 and then gets very snappy with me and says that he has noticed we have 2 reservations on July 2nd for 2 different restaurants and that there is no way we can be at 2 places at once. I explained that we are traveling with my mom and that if he noticed one is at 11:20 am for 50's Prime Time for a party of 5(all of our other ADR's are for a party of 6) and that the other is for WCC at 12pm for a party of 4 and that is because my mom is meeting some friends of hers and will not be eating lunch with us. I made the ADR for her and never thought of using her phone number instead of mine. Anyway, he proceeds to tell me that he is going to flag my reservations and that the dining manager might cancel ALL of my ADR's!
I flip out and ask him to just put the reservation in my mom's name/phone number as it is obvious that all of our other ADR's are for 6 and these are for a party of 5 and 4 so we are not just double booking. He tells me he can't do this and it will be up to a manager whether or not he cancels everything.
Rather than arguing with this jerk any longer, I ask to speak to a manager now and he transfers me to a guy who just says hold on and then transfers me to Disney Dining. I just got off the phone with a really nice CM who said that nothing was cancelled and that she couldn't believe someone would say that!
She said to check back later though just in case.
Has anyone had this happen? Can they really cancel ALL of your ADR's because they "think" you overbooked one time? Or did I just get someone having a bad day? I can't imagine going over the 4th of July doing the DDDP only to discover I have no ADR's. Thanks!
