I agree. Just demolition wouldn't likely be done by then.
Heck, the filing of the paperwork for the demolition wouldn't likely be done by then.

I don't consider Cars Land to be a "clone" of Test Track.
First, of the multiple wonders of Cars Land...
only the Radiator Springs Racers is a single attraction that uses similar drive vehicles to Test Track.
The kind of drive vehicle is where the similarity stops.
RSR is an astonishingly well-designed attraction, only if you were to look at
the wonderful multi-scene build-up to the actual race.
There is a great story to the attraction.
(OTOH, Test Track completely lacks in story since the conversion to the Tron-like
sets.)
RSR outdoor sections are breathtakingly huge and wondrous to behold.
This goes both before the dark-ride sections are entered and later, during the racing scenes.
The current Test Track is a pale "half-cousin, twice-removed" to the fully fleshed out, thoughtful, humorous...
and downright amazing... RSR of Cars Land.
Then, there is all the rest of the theming, attractions, and food of Cars Land...
But, that's another post.

I would love to see both Carsland AND Star Wars. I don't view RSR as a clone of TT. I also don't think Dinosaur and IJ are "clones." Even if the track layout is exactly the same, the experience is entirely different.
Honestly, ANYTHING major that Disney can pull off in a fast timeframe should be 1st into DHS...
I certainly hope there won't be a cars land. We already have Test Track, there's no need to have a clone in another park with a different look. I'd much rather see newer rides and other Pixar movies being added. I don't see the reason to import the same attraction from Disneyland since we already have Test Track. So I'm hoping they utilize the space for something better.

And, DCA management has already decided to change Luigi's Tires. LT reminded me of the "Flying Saucers" - actually were based on them - that were located outside of DL's gates many years ago!!

Amen brother. I've been on Dinosaur and two versions of IJ since June and Dino is a distant, distant third.

I've never been to Cars Land so I can't comment on it, although I do enjoy the movies. I was at one of the Star Wars weekends last year and the Studios was mobbed. I was 8 years old when Star Wars came out, and it was a HUGE part of my childhood. And now it is for my kids. Heck, it's one of my dads favorite movies.
I think a Star Wars land, done right, would be an unbelievable success. The multi-generational appeal would be amazing. It could be their answer to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal. No matter what they would spend on it, it would be virtually guaranteed to make money hand over fist for years to come, especially with new movies coming out in the future. To me it's a no brainer.
CMs know pretty much what we know unless they are high up in the company so doubtful. I wouldn't expect a full size Carsland clone in WDW, but a cars ride is very very possible. I think this will be an overall pixar expansion not just cars. I also think Star Wars will get expanded in DHS but in the echo lake area and not right away. Pixar will be first. One things that is for certain DHS is going to be seeing some massive changes over the next few years.
DanBoris said:I have heard of cases where CM's clearly knew LESS then we know about what is going on in the parks.
I think Star Wars expansion will be after the first movie is out so 2016-17ishJust a gut feeling, but I would think that most Star Wars additions would be in a Phase II expansion. They might have some pretty good ideas of what they want to do with Star Wars at the moment, but seems they wouldn't have had enough time to get the design work, make the drawings, and get bids on the construction to start building it at this time. I think this Phase will be mostly Pixar related as they probably had plans on the back burner for some time. Just my feelings/opinion.
One thing I know for sure, Disney *needs* something for little boys.
Star Wars isn't really a *little* boy theme, unless a little boy has parents who like Star Wars. I know if you asked any of my kids...or any of the kids I know...they probably wouldn't even know what Star Wars is. DHS is seriously lacking anything for young kids right now and TSM is not enough on it's own to make me want to use a ticket on that park. Unless something major happens we'll be skipping that park on our return trip.
I don't even need a whole Carsland, if they had some Cars rides, maybe a Plane ride, I'd be happy
