I booked a package with basic dining for my family of 5 today. The CM told me TWO snacks are included with the package. Is this correct?? I know it is so with the DXDDP but I had not heard of this with the basic DDP. That is exactly what she told me...

thanks

She is wrong. It's one snack for the DDP and two with the DxDDP.

I had a CM tell me that the gratuities are included with the price of meal at Crystal Palace - even in trying to correct her she insisted they were included. :lmao:

I know it was silly to even ask but she sounded so convincing!!

I wish I had taped her!! :lmao: She was very very friendly and nice so I am not complaining....just came here to see if others had heard that!!

:rotfl: My girl was very nice and convincing too. Maybe it was the same person making CM's lives difficult. She loves guests but has an ax to grind with the CM's for some strange reason.

I wonder if I could convince the server at Crystal Palace that their gratuity was already taken care of. ;):lmao:

(JUST KIDDING - Please don't flame me - I will be tipping a minimum of 18% :goodvibes )

OMG!!! I booked with Wanda and she said the same thing(2 snacks) when I got my confirmation by email it said one. I called and they told me one snack. That they were sorry but the only thing they could do was to remind the people who book of the DDP rules.

You think something that simple would be easy, huh?

I am not being critical (well maybe I am) but as a teacher I am responsible for knowing the content of my profession and I will be held responsible for any and all misinformation I give. Parents have a responsibility to know things but it is my responsibility to know all things and to clarify when and if parents have questions and or needs (same goes for students)

You would think when booking the DDP or DXDDP, their computer screen could pop up with the specifics of that party's package and the details of it...kwim??? This might help some confusion.

I know ultimately it is my responsibility to know what I am purchasing but I do feel first time visitors or those who do not spend a lot of time researching a vacation should still be told the correct info.

Like I said, she was friendly and I had a wonderful conversation with her... :wizard:

I am just making a point here of course...

funny yous should mention this...because when I mentioned I was upset about the abscence of the appy and tip she told me Disney got word of customers being unhappy about the automatic gratuity and wanted the power of choosing how much to tip (this and they DID lower the cost by 1 dollar...:lmao: ) and the customers said repeatedly "too much food...." which I have heard a million times here. But still just one dollar for those two things??

I know this is probably debated on some other thread somewhere but oh well

last year my best friend took her DH and DD down in May. They had the dining plan and swore they had 2 TS meals a day, and a "very nice CM" had helped them plan them out. I just assumed they had a better plan than I book--but sure enough, when they got there they discovered only one TS a day was covered, so they had to reshuffle their plans and see which restaurants to cancel.

I agree, a guest should be able to trust the CM with the details of the plan. I really can't (personally) find fault with a guest who researches by dealing with CM's (from the proper department of course) and is upset when they get there and things are different than what they were told. Especially considering that you don't get your DDP brochure until check-in (at least we didn't)

That being said - I am GLAD that I go above and beyond and do my homework. Sometimes I feel as if I am already partly trained to be a Dining Reservation CM. :rotfl:

They all tell you something different!! The other day when I was asking about free dining for my son they indicated that it would be for moderates or above !
Can you imagine, I called back and another CM had no idea .....:lmao:

The UK free dining offer this year was restricted to moderates or above. They excluded AKL also for some reason.

The bounceback offer could apparently be booked at any resort. No telling what they'll do for the general public offer, when and if they make one.

I really do love the CM's but honestly, they need better training. They just give out too much wrong info!
