Welcome to Our Christmas Week Dinning Report. Let me start off with that we haven't been to Disney since August 2009. We were going once a year and sometimes twice. We were going mostly in August because of free dinning but in the last few years they haven't offered it early enough in August for us to take advantage. We have been to Disney for Xmas one other time in 2005.
So when we were offered a PIN for free dinning during Xmas week we were ecstatic!!!

Arrived on 12/21 and Departed on 12/28

Let me introduce our Dinning Characters:

Me- (Minnie) I eat a wide variety of foods.
DH- (Mickey) He eats mostly burgers and steaks.
DS 13- (Stitch) He also mostly eats burgers and steaks
DD 10 almost 11 celebrating her Birthday also. (Tink) She eats mostly chicken and pastas.

Breakfast at POR Food Court:

We got in after midnight the night before so we made it to the POR Food Court around 10am. We ordered two bounty platters, an order of pancakes with bacon and sausage and a bagel with cream cheese. The bounty platters consisted of potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuit and choice of pancakes or French toast. We got one with pancakes and one with French toast. We used 3 Quick Serve credits and 1 snack credit.
Mickey, Tink and I shared the platters and Stitch had the pancakes and meat for himself. The eggs were surprisingly yummy. The potatoes were good but just a tad spicy. The bacon was good and everyone said the sausage was good. (I dont eat sausage) The French toast and pancakes were ice cold. Stitch is usually a very good eater but he wasnt feeling too good so left most of the pancakes, he would have usually eaten them even if they were cold. Oh and Mickey had the bagel with cream cheese and he thought it was good. We headed to the MK with full bellies.
So I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of this breakfast. But my son had the pancakes a few mornings later and he remembered to take a picture for me.

pancakes with bacon and sausage

Oh and we got 3 water bottles with our meals since they come with QS. We used our cups for drinks and brought the water bottles into the park with us.

Subscribing, we just booked a last minute trip for Feb 2014, staying at POR. Can't wait to read more!

Snack The Lunching Pad in Tommorowland
We decided to get a snack at MK around noon. I wanted to get a Mickey pretzel so we stopped at The Lunching Pad and got one. I didnt want to eat him because he was soooo cute!! Even though the pretzel was cute, it was nothing special just a regular ole pretzel. While the kids and I split the pretzel, Mickey came back from an ice cream cart with none other than a Mickey ice cream bar. He loves them!! As Mickey finished his ice cream Stitch realized he wanted one also so he got one also. We used 3 snack credits.

Lunch: Caseys Corner

Around 2pm we were getting hungry, but we knew that we had a 4:45 Dinner at Yak and Yeti. So we decided to just split some corn dog nuggets at Caseys. I got in line for Caseys and as luck would have it all the other lines kept moving along. Here I was not moving at all. I wanted to change lanes a few times but then someone else got in line. I tried to figure out why I wasnt moving it was because the lady at the register was super slow! Also the family in front of me ordered for about 8 people so he was reading his long list to the cashier. After about 15 minutes of waiting in line I reached the front and was able to place my order. I ordered two orders of corn dog nuggets, two orders of fries, two large cokes and bag of cracker jacks and a brownie. I used 2 QS credits.

We had a lot of corn dog nuggets with the two orders. They were good nothing fancy but they did the job with the fries to keep us satisfied till dinner time. I saved the crackers jacks and brownie for later.
Looks like I didnt get a picture of the brownie or crackers jacks. The brownie is a pre packaged one and obviously the cracker jacks are also.

Dinner: Yak and Yeti 4:45pm reservation

We checked in at 4:30 and they took us right in. We were seated downstairs near a window. Our waiter came over and took our drink orders. He told us we could order the non alcoholic specialty drinks. So Tink order a frozen lemonade, Mickey ordered a diet coke, Stitch ordered a sprite and I ordered a virgin daiquiri.

The frozen drinks were good.

We had an extra reservation so I figured that Tink could just order an appetizer of egg rolls and just share our meals. I ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken, Stitch ordered the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp subbing the stir fried vegetables for fries, and Mickey ordered the Kobe Beef Burger. Our order came out rather quickly.
My Crispy Honey Chicken was pretty tasty and Tink had a few pieces also along with rice.

Stitch’s Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp: He said it had a great flavor but just a little bit chewy. The fries were good he said. He eats no seafood so I had some of his shrimp and they were just ok, nothing special.

This pic is to show you how tall the rice was.

continued in next post

Mickeys Kobe Beef Burger: He ordered the burger without mayo and soy sauce. They put the sauce on the side for him. He liked the burger and the pickles that came on the side and hes not a big fan of fries so they were just ok to him.

Tinks egg rolls: We ordered her the appetizer size and they came with 3 egg rolls. She ate one whole egg roll along with some of my rice and chicken. Mickey and I split one. After Mickey realized that Tink was done with her egg roll and didnt want more he decided to eat the last one. He took a bite and started to make a face and continued to spit something into his napkin. I asked whats wrong. He said he bit into something hard! He looked at his napkin and realized that the egg roll had a small bone in it. The waiter came by a few minutes later so he told him what just happened. The waiter took the bone on clean napkin; he apologized and said he would bring this to the attention of the kitchen staff. Not long after a lady (I assume she was a manager) came over to apologize to Mickey and said she would take care of it. They did not charge us for the egg roll or for Tinks frozen lemonade.

Desserts: To be continued

great start - shame about the issues at Yak and Yeti but at least they sorted the issue out for you. Looking forward to more :)

Yak and Yeti desserts:
For our dessert Mickey ordered the Mango Pie for Tink. Stitch ordered the Chocolate cake and I ordered the Fried Wontons.
Tink is a big fan of mango so she loved the Mango Pie.

Stitchs Chocolate Cake was very rich, he shared some with Mickey.

My Fried Wontons were really good.

My overall thoughts about Yak and Yeti:
I thought Yak and Yeti was just ok overall. What really turned me off was the bone in the egg roll. Mickey and I are just VERY glad it wasnt Tink who encountered the bone. I have no desire to order Chinese in the near future! The staff handled the situation very well. Our waiter was very friendly with us. I can just put Yak and Yeti on our tried it and done it list.

Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Monday, December, 23

Our reservation time was for 7:30 am, we arrived a few minutes late. We checked in and were given a pager. We went over to have our picture taken. We sat down and our pager went off not long after. We were seated all the way to the right close to a window and very close to the buffet.

For drinks Mickey ordered a diet coke, OJ for Stitch, Tink ordered an apple juice and I ordered coffee and OJ. After placing our drink orders we made our way over to the buffet.

I remembered to take the first picture after I had eaten most of my first plate. I had cheesy potatoes, bacon, potatoes, some sort of quiche, breakfast pizza (looks like I had already eaten it) a little bit of scrambled eggs and a croissant. The quiche, cheesy potatoes, and breakfast pizza were the BEST!! You will see in my second plate coming up that I went up for seconds on those.

Tink started off with a plate of bacon, sausage, potatoes and a hash brown.

Looks like Mickey had bacon, sausage, two types of potatoes, a Mickey waffle not sure what’s under the waffle but looks like chunks of sausage and some really disgusting tasting hash? It was very salty.

I have no idea what Stitch had on his first plate, he ate it so fast!! He already made it over to fill up a second plate. He had bacon, sausage, and Mickey waffles. Yes he likes his waffles swimming in syrup and he also likes his bacon and sausage in syrup.

While we were eating our first plates Mickey Mouse came over to visit us. He was a lot of fun, he pointed to my headband that had Mickey ears and a Santa hat on it.

Not long after our waitress brought Tink over a cupcake with a candle in it. They then did the waving of the napkin song.

Donald Duck came to visit us next.

Continued in next post....

Goofy was supposed to be the next character to visit us, but there is story as to why he did not visit us. My daughter has always been afraid of the characters on our previous trips. She only tolerated them visiting with her brother at the table across from us. She would usually hide behind me. On our trip in August 2007 she was 4.5 years old. We went to the character breakfast at Cape May Café. Every time a character came to visit our table we would gesture to the character to just visit my son. Plus they also picked up on her hiding behind me. Well while my daughter and I were sitting there eating our breakfast, Goofy came behind us and in between us. So I briefly got startled but DD well she screamed bloody murder!! You can tell that Goofy felt really bad. We finally calmed her down with some donuts. So on this trip she conquered all her fears of the characters and allowed them to visit with her and get hugs from them and pictures with them. So when Goofy was almost approaching us she wasn't sure if she could handle him so we told the handler to have Goofy skip us.

So finally it looked like we had a long enough break before Minnie and Pluto came to visit us, so we made our way to the buffet for a second plate, well thirds for Stitch.

I came back with more breakfast pizza, quiche, and cheesy potatoes. Sorry the picture did not come out that great.

Stitch came back with a bowl of fruit loops.

Tink had a Mickey Waffle and a cinnamon bun.

Mickey had some mini donuts, rice krispy treat, brownie and a chocolate croissant.

Tink had a brownie, muffin and rice krispy treat.

For my "dessert" I had pancakes, Mickey Waffle, and French toast.

While we were finishing up our last plates I was reminding DS of a time when he was about 3 years old and we were eating at Chef Mickey’s. When he was 3 years old Minnie came to visit our table and he kissed Minnie smack dab on her nose!!! One of my most favorite memories! I asked him if he would duplicate the picture for me 10 years later. To my surprise he said yes he would!! But anyways when Minnie came over I snapped the picture to soon and only got him going in for the kiss. Still awesome though! A few times during the trip he wanted us to repeat a few pictures that he remembers from when he was smaller. For example the morning we were at Ohana’s he remembered a picture of all us in front of the water fall. :lovestruc

Looks like Stitch got another plate.

Overall thoughts on Chef Mickey’s:
Stitch has always loved Chef Mickey’s and this time did not disappoint him. Tink had a huge milestone with the characters here and she loved that they acknowledged her birthday! Mickey liked the food aside from the yucky hash. I thoroughly enjoyed this breakfast as always, I love how upbeat Chef Mickey’s is! I forgot to add about what Mickey Mouse did, after he visited us he was a couple tables away he came back and snatched one of our pens! That gave us all a big chuckle!!

Mickey got a couple pictures of the dessert tables on our way out.

Just a few snapshots before we got on the monorail over to EPCOT
