A Celebration of Harry Potter

Is anyone going to Celebration of Harry Potter this weekend (the 29th - 31st) - I'm going. It'll be my first time to Universal Studios. Just wanted to know if any other board members will be there that I can say hi to!

We are going Friday-Sunday. Did you take a look at the schedule? Some of the events are pretty close in time so you would have to go from one park to the other pretty quick in order not to miss them. Although some events repeat on Sunday-so I'm glad that I took a look at it before hand so that I didn't miss anything.

I didn't notice the times. I'm planning on doing as much as I can on Saturday, a little Sunday day, and then lining up for the cast member Q&A

Although I have been told in years past, the cast members can be seen at the expo, and at other random events around the parks. If I don't make it to the Q&A, I won't be heartbroken, but if I can at least see one of the cast members, I'll feel good

We went last year and happened to run into the Fred and George Weasley. Right after the Q&A session, they came out by the lines at the expo. We were able to get pictures with Fred. I didn't watch the whole Q&A but it was interesting to see and hear the actors in real life. I didn't do too many shows last year, so I'm hoping to see a bunch of them this year. We're going to the expo on Friday and then the events on Saturday and Sunday.

I looked at the schedule just now - it seems that everything that I want to do is spaced out fine. I don't have any kids, so I won't to go to the kids events.

Those who have been before- how early do you need to get in line for the events (excluding the events targeted at children)? I've googled and haven't found much information. Some of the events on Saturday at the amphitheatre are rather close together. If you dash out of the theater into line for the next one, would it be possible to make it in or wouls the line likely be too long? I notice unlike Star Wars Weekends in the past, the events are held too close together to attend all of them in one day...

I've gone to one day of the celebration, twice, in the past.

The only event I can speak for is the Film Talent Q&A Session. When I went the first time, I believe it was the first weekend UOR ever had the celebration - things were a bit different back then, and I got a ticket to come back later to wait in the standby line - an extremely pleasant surprise because I wasn't even expecting I could get in to that Q&A!

In 2014, the end of the line for the Q&A (on Sunday) was all the way near Cafe 4 (the quick-service location near Hulk). I don't remember the specifics, but this was probably like an hour before the session?

So if you don't have a vacation package and want to do the Q&A, I would recommend getting in line for it early, like 45 minutes to an hour, if you can.
