My bride and I are headed to SSR for our Anniv. the last week in May. Please give me some ideas as to what I might do with her at SSR OR any other resorts OR any of the parks. I need you romantics to dig deep in your pockets to give me some advise. Thank you in advance.

I have read that SSR have horse drawn carrige rides. I think that would be romantic!!!!

Holding hands and walking along all the wonderful paths that lead to DTD and
OKW. Maybe early morning and/or at twilight. So often it's all about the parks
and rushing to make that ADR. This place is downright gorgeous and it's nice
to slow down, look around and really enjoy it for the amazing place that it is.
The beauty is in the DETAILS. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Couples package at the spa! :goodvibes

It's also nice to drive a boat down the Sassagoula (from POR to SSR) but I don't think you can rent from SSR yet. You'd probably have to get to POR by boat or bus first, but it's a nice little boat ride.

Gotta second the spa package! Very romantic! I've heard great things about the carriage ride also. If you call Disney, lots of times they can recommend romantic things to do.

Have fun!

I think they have eliminated the horse drawn carriage rides at SSR. They were not available between Christmas and New Year's.

Boat rental at Downtown Disney would be closer. Sounds like fun!

I have to agree, the spa package would be absolutely amazing! I have been to the spa and it is the most relaxing and wonderful place to unwind.

You could also walk over to DTD for a nice dinner at Wolfgang Puck or Fultons or something and then take the leisurely boat ride back to SSR.

You could rent surrey bikes and take a ride around the resort one afternoon, stop at AP and grab some food for a picnic at the little pavillion they have for grilling. They are usually empty during the day.

And finally, you sit on the rocking chairs our by Congress Park's quiet pool and watch the PI fireworks.

Get a reservation to dine at the Coral Reef and call ahead to have the diver hold up a personalized sign inside the aquarium. They will usually put anything you want on the sign--within reason. You could either be sentimental or a little silly (I'm hooked on you, You're a keeper, etc.). You can also request a personalized menu to keep. Here's the phone number...just call and leave a message and they will get back to you within a few days: (407)939-3463.

I love the ideas...PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE keep'em coming. I will be calling the Coral Reef for the personalized menu and message. I also appreciate the encouragement to take time and not be so rushed, that tends to describe me at times on vacations.

Any Disney brides that their fellers made melt????? Can you disclose the "melting factor"????? People can be soooooooo creative and romantic and the magic of Disney is the perfect setting for creativity.

I heard that too. But the carriage rides are still available at Port Orleans.

Does your bride like pearls? If so, go to a pick-a-pearl place. Last year, for our wedding anniversary, DH picked the oyster, and I picked the setting to have it made into a ring. I hadn't gotten an engagement ring, so this has that place of "honor". They also set the pears in necklaces, earings, pins, all kinds of jewelry. It could be a real memorable souvenier.

I would have suggested the carriage ride as well but they are gone. So sad :(

It is a nice place to have a quiet romantic stroll around the grounds in the evening.

The spa is also a great idea. Strolling over to DTD and enjoying some Ghiradelli chocolate (what gal doesn't love chocolate??).

Speaking of chocolate...which restaurants do Cinderella's Slipper? That would be a great dessert one night. Isn't one of them the Grand Floridian Cafe?

My favorite spot is watching the MK Wishes fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian. Get a bottle of champange and some dessert and just enjoy each others company.

Do a surprise Vow Renewal. I did. The people at Disney were great. Awesome event.

The Breathless Fireworks cruise is WONDERFUL but a bit pricey ($250 ish).
It is the "antique" replica wooden boat at YC/BC.

Dinner at California Grill by the window during "Wishes." (or out on the balcony but there will be other people)

Walk over by the Wedding Pavilion (near Grand Floridian) and renew your vows to her

Disney can recreate wedding cakes if you give them a picture. I had mini cakes created for us by the GF bakery. Yummy!!

Send a romantic gift basket to your room filled with bubble bath, candle, sparkling cider or champagne, glasses etc.
(Disney Florist handles this)

HTH

If you're in a 1BR or larger, stop in Basin at DTD and buy a bath bomb. Then pick up a bottle of champagne at Artist's Palette, and head back to your room for a date in the jacuzzi tub!
