A BWV owner stays at BCV for the first time -- our thoughts

I actually felt the same way when we stayed there in February for the first time. We purchased at BWV over BCV because of the cheap standard view rooms and the buy in cost. I always assumed I would enjoy BCV more - we'd stay there when we wanted to spend extra on points and when we could get a room at 7 months. We were surprised to discover we really do enjoy BWV more. That isn't to say we had a bad experience at BCV - it certainly was nice. It just wasn't worth spending the extra points to us. Next time we spend extra on points, we'll probably do a Boardwalk View...

I don't think the lotion and dishwasher soap situation was unique to BCV. Just returned from our 4 nite stay at BWV and there was no lotion and only one package of soap. I purposely did not pack lotion since I know it's usually in the room. Had to go to Basin and purchase some. Split the one packet of soap for 2 washes. However on Trash & Towel day, they replenished with 3 packages of soap. Go figure.

We love both resorts. B&C walk up is nothing special. The sit down burgers and sundaes is the only way to go-excellent.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

This has been our favorite part of our BC stays - we'd have an afternoon swim then have a late lunch at B&C at about 3-3:30ish when there was no wait. Fastest place to get a grilled cheese, too!

My DD is 16 and says its still her fave grilled cheese anywhere, and yes early dinners there are great with no wait.

First, I want to thank everyone for the positive comments - even by those who don't agree with me. It's a rare pleasure these days not to get flamed for expressing an opinion.

I hope everyone realizes I would have no hesitation to stay at BCV again. We just missed the BW.

As to the question above, the BCV does have balconies of varying sizes. Some balconies span the whole unit, some are quite small. Some are average size. I think it was built that way for the overall aesthetics from the outside. If you look at the BC hotel, they have some very small balconies that will basically hold only 1 person. We walked around marveling "why even waste the cost of building materials to put those in." I can only assume the answer is because of curb appeal.

Our balcony was very small. It fit 2 chairs and a table and that's it. There was a separate, unconnected balcony off of the studio (we had a 2 br lock off) of the same size. I think some dedicated 2 BRs have balconies that span the whole unit.

That said, I saw balconies that were bigger than ours on individual units. We spent little time out there because there wasn't much point. It was not possible to put 4 people on 1 balcony, and thus maybe share a cocktail with my brother and SIL or just chat after the kids were put to bed. We never had a balcony that small at BWV. This balcony was even smaller than any balcony I've ever had on a cruise ship. Small.

That is not to say that all BWV balconies are huge. In our last stay there, we had a 1 BR dedicated unit, standard view, down near the walkway to the parking lot. The balcony spanned the whole unit, but was very narrow. So if you were sitting on a chair, someone could not walk behind you.

I consider myself very fortunate to have such wonderful choices of places to stay!

Thanks for the clarification, I guess it is all relevant to what one considers a large balcony and was confused as to whether any rooms at BCV had the balconies like the BC that has no furniture on it.

!

We have had many sizes of balconies at BWV and BCV. For us, any balcony is great no matter how small compared to hotels with just a window :sad2:.

The FL weather is just so great, especially in the middle of winter-I would hate to get up early when everyone is still sleeping and not be able to step out in it with a cup of coffee and just breath it in.

We have stayed at all the DVC in Disney World and our Favorite is BCV. All though we enjoy many of the other DVC's we always miss BCV just a little. Two of our favorite things about BCV's are the CM's who to us seem the most friendly and of course SAB.:goodvibes

We have stayed at BWV twice and BCV twice. Each has its charm.

The only thing you overlooked is the Gellato at the Market Place at BCV which you cannot get at BWV. I stay there just for that !!!

Although I will walk at least for one dinner to Boardwalk for a Pizza!

My BCV experience was that the front desk CMs were excellent and the most friendly that I have encountered.
