We stayed at ASMO from 2/24-3/4.
On Saturday morning (after 3 hours sleep) we had a mini meet with December99, TennVolTony, Safari Steve and AngieBelle. These were the first Disers I have met. We had a great time.
Sunday..MK We spent our first day at the MK. The lines were fairly short. We used the Fast Pass as often as possible. We did everything except for Fantasyland, which I think was good considering we went to church and arrived late and left early for the Hoop Dee Doo. We enjoyed our day and loved the HDD as always. The only downer was that it took us 1 1/2 hours to get back to our room from Pioneer Hall.
Monday...MGM We ate two big meals today, at Prime Time and Sci Fi (Boy were we pleasantly surprised here!). We missed Little Mermaid (we went with 2 9 year old and a 7 year old...all boys). We again found the crowds more than manageable. We felt like we had done everything we wanted to do. We had dinner at 7 PM at Sci Fi and it was so cool walking through the park by ourselves...until we met up with the crowd leaving Fantasmic. The busses ran frequently and were back in our rooms much quicker than we anticipated, considering the crowds leaving.
Tuesday...Animal Kingdom This was our first visit to AK. We thoroughly enjoyed Dinosaur and It's tough to be a Bug. The Safari was good. It was really hot this day and we started wilting pretty fast. I cannot imagine this park in the summer. We were disappointed in Kali River Ride...this was our only 30 minute wait and it was way too short a ride...we have been on better. In the future I see us doing this park in half a day. We ate at Rainforest Cafe (our first time) and we LOVED it. The service, the food and the atmosphere were all excellent.
Wednesday...Epcot Today we hit World Showcase, Jouney into your Imagination (boring), the Land ride, Food Rocks, Test Track (AWESOME!...but I still miss Motion), Spaceship Earth and Cranium Command. We then had a meet with CarolAnnK and aahmom1 at LeCellier...was a great time. After dinner we went with Carol and her daughters and did the Illumination Cruise. We enjoyed this experience, but in all honesty the view was not that great for the money spent. I have no regrets that we did it, but will not do it again.
Thursday...Universal Studios...the crowds were missing completely. We encountered very few waits, and those waits we did have were because they held us up to get a bigger crowd in. Nothing was broken down this time. First time we got to do Twister and that was pretty intense! We wound up leaving the park around 4 since we were all tired and had done almost everything. A good day.
Friday...MK Where did all these people come from??? Scott (my 9 year old) threw up not long after we got to the park and DH took him back to the room. Since BIL was playing golf with TVTony this day, it left just my sis and I and her 2 boys. The lines were so bad....we used fast pass where we could. I never did get to see Winnie the Pooh. We stayed that night to catch Electric Main Street Parade. It was so awesome...I am grateful we got to see it again. OMG, I am going to be killed by a moderator here...Marsha AKA mackey made a special trip to the MK so we could meet. It was very brief and we did ride Pirates together (she was very brave). I am so glad I got to meet her...what a nice lady! (Did I save my hide?) ROTFL
Saturday...Epcot/MGM OK I am really tired now and sick too (fought a cold or something all week). My sis and I stayed in the room and met the rest at San Angel for lunch...we met JayPD and his family...hi Zach!!! We had a wonderful lunch and after lunch took the boat to MGM. We hit a few attractions and went to Fantasmic dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Fantasmic was excellent...I think it is their best night show. Then back to the room for 4 AM wake up for our flight home. (We NEVER fly...what a treat that was!)
We had a great trip....very warm all week long. Only rained one night. I have posted restaurant reviews on that board and my thoughts on my Dis meets on the Community Board...
Thanks for sticking with me this long!
I did want to add that we were extremely pleased with the ASMo, we would definitely stay there again! Also, except for getting back from Pioneer Hall, the bus service was very good. We used Tiffany Towncars (a van for 7 of us) and were very pleased with their service too).
Imagine a cute Dopey here!! Donna
