Trip Report A Bird's Eye View of London and Paris March 2012 TR NEW! The END 1/12 p35

Then he says we should get hoppers!!! :yay:
I'm so psyched - now I know I can make the Mega DIS meet at Rose & Crown on 10/18! Plus we'll get to do some time at DHS (I've missed TSMM lately) and then we can take the boat to Beaches and Cream and Epcot!!! Yippee!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Yeah for an extra day on the park tickets!!!!!!!

How convenient that the train takes you right to DLP!
I wish it were that easy going to WDW...
I can't wait to see what it all looks like on the inside!

Just read your last London update and wanted to help you out before I start the Paris post.

The new skyscraper at London Bridge is called The Shard. It'll taper to a point in glass and looks like it'll be very cool when finished. I agree that the concrete shape underneath that's currently showing isn't very attractive!

The building with the big chimney that you didn't know it's name is the Tate Modern Art Gallery. Has a lot of weird 'art' in there. Enjoying your report. Off to read more now! Xx

Just read your latest post. :)

Thanks for all the photos of Lille. We're going tomorrow and are having to change in Lille for the first time. (We've always got the direct London-Disney train in the past) Your photos have made me a bit more relaxed about the change over. I'll remember to keep a 50cent on me for the toilets!

And even having been 4 times before the ease of the train is still wonderful. It's just ideal getting on in London and getting off right in the heart of DLRP.

Yep, the train drops you off closer to the Parks and Village than if you park in the parking lot! ::yes:: (doesn't that figure, since we drive!)

Sorry, I should have warned you about the pay-to-pee system over here!

Oh my goodness! Your bathroom episode had me cracking up! :lmao: Thank the Lord you didn't have a 'real' emergency! That would NOT be good! I've done some reading about the Eastern Car. cruise ports and I read that the bathrooms in St. Maarten are like that. Seems crazy to me. Who knew what luxuries we have here in the USA that we take for granted! :rotfl:

I think that is so exciting that the train drops you off at DLP. How nice! Disney has it all figured out! Can't wait to see the park!

It is so refreshing to see a view of
London from another viewpoint, we visit the capital once every few years to do the attractions, can't wait for your disney part:goodvibes

:welcome: and I'm sorry to leave you hanging! I'll try very hard to get to DLP during this weekend! You mean you're not staying at my friend's house too? ;)
When are you going? Find some good shoes - LOTS of walking!!

If your friend doesn't have a problem with it we can stay there, lol. We are planning on next June

Sorry guys, no update this weekend. I thought it was going to be a relaxing weekend with nothing to do, BUT... DH got Saturday off and we decided at 11:00 Friday morning to drive to Johnstown PA for his family reunion! So we ran around hit the bank, rented a car, (his sis came too) and packed. I did a bunch of quick laundry got my parents to take the dog and told the kids when they got home. We got here tonight around 5:00 and DH wanted to head into Pittsburgh and we got SRO tickets to the pirates game. We left early but it was fun. Tomorrow is the reunion and then we head back west toward home. We have to be back for school and work on tuesday. I realize now how important planning is, even though we did pretty good this time. My head was spinning on Friday though! I'm glad we decided to come to see many relatives we've not met (me and the girls) and some rather elderly ones as well.

If you take the Ohio turnpike back , wave when you go through the Swanton/Delta area! I'll wave back.

Have fun at the reunion! :goodvibes I am so not a spontaneous person, so my head is spinning at the thought of how quickly you threw this trip together.

It couldn't have been much easier! I agree - it would be nice if the planes would just land on WDW property!
Wait til you see the parks!

Thank you! I couldn't remember if our guide told us the name, but he had some funny comments about it!
Yes, the Tate Modern! I probably should have known that one.
Glad you're enjoying! I appreciate any extra help anytime!

Lille was pretty basic - if we could manage it, anyone can! I hope you had a good trip! That train station at DLP is GENIUS! I loved that!

Yep, the train drops you off closer to the Parks and Village than if you park in the parking lot! ::yes:: (doesn't that figure, since we drive!)

Sorry, I should have warned you about the pay-to-pee system over here!
Bummer for you as a driver! Not your fault, my friend had mentioned we'd encounter some of those situations, I just wasn't expecting it at the station for some reason!

Oh my goodness! Your bathroom episode had me cracking up! :lmao: Thank the Lord you didn't have a 'real' emergency! That would NOT be good! Glad I could share a laugh with you! It was one of those things - just so ridiculous, we had to laugh. Wonder what they do with the money? Pay someone to clean, I suppose.
Disney sure knows what they are doing right?

It is so refreshing to see a view of
London from another viewpoint, we visit the capital once every few years to do the attractions, can't wait for your disney part:goodvibes
Did I properly welcome you yet? If not, :welcome:
Aww, thanks! I really loved London! There's a lot more to come after the DLP stuff!
If your friend doesn't have a problem with it we can stay there, lol. We are planning on next June
:rotfl: She's very generous, you never know! HA!

If you take the Ohio turnpike back , wave when you go through the Swanton/Delta area! I'll wave back.
Consider yourself as having been waved to!
We saw a TON of state patrol cops on the Ohio Turnpike - My gosh, it was insane. We were predicting when a car would get stopped! We'd see a flashy BMW go by fast and say "he'll be up on the side in a mile" and sure enough, he got stopped! 3 times it was BMWs and once a Buick.

Have fun at the reunion! :goodvibes I am so not a spontaneous person, so my head is spinning at the thought of how quickly you threw this trip together.
My head is still spinning, even now that we're home! It wa great though.

Have a great weekend in PA!!:goodvibes I can't believe you are so close by right now!
I knew you are near there, I could have driven right by you!
We had a blast, My DH loves Pittsburgh!

y'all could have had a DISmeet/Snowbird reunion!
If only we had more time... Believe me, the thought crossed my mind. I even told Dave that Shelly lived somewhere near Pittsburgh, but I didn't know exactly where.

I hope you are having a great time!!!
Thanks, we did have fun! I'll have a little story to tell at some point here!

I love your report so far! Can't wait to read more!
Thanks! I promise I'll get back at it soon! This weekend kind of threw me off schedule!

As usual, if something is not right in front of my face on the Trip Reports Board, I forget about it. And of course, closing out school made me crazier than usual. I have time this week to do what I want, so I was able to visit around on the DIS a little more. :thumbsup2 It was cool to catch up with your pictures. :)

I am glad you made it to your reunion. I'm sure everyone loved seeing the girls!

Oh yes....I've been stopped on there too...going 5-10 miles over. And saw many pass me going faster

Subbing! Love your report. London is so beautiful. It and Paris are on my bucket list to do.

Can't wait to read all about Paris and see your pictures.
