I would just like to say, Simon, a very big thank you for your fantastic book. It was like having an extra person with us on our holiday, with everyone saying, 'Let's ask Simon', 'What does Simon say about that?',. Your book provided us with so many hints, tips and helpful information, and we tried to base our time around your 'busy parks' guide, which was pretty much spot on. I would recommend it to anyone considering a holiday in Orlando. We tried out a few of your restaurant recommendations, including the wonderful Mythos at IoA, which we walked past on our 1st visit and found, via your book, for our second visit. I sampled the best pasta dish I have EVER eaten ( my DH ran the London marathon this year so believe me I have eaten a LOT of pasta! ), our table also overlooked the lake so we had an excellent view of the fireworks at the end of the evening.

It also made me realise what a lot you fit in on your trips - you must spend the whole time eating?

Many thanks again for accompanying us on our holiday!
:)

HERE HERE, just fine tuning our planning now with a lot of help from Simons book and all the great tips from this site. Although we have been twice i realise after finding this site and simons book how much we have missed out on in previous years.:)

I agree, my holiday in September will be my 5th trip to WDW but my first with Simons book, and there are just so many things that I never knew were out there.

The book will definitely be coming with me on the holiday, I have already read it twice cover to cover and plan to do more swotting on the plane.

Thanks Simon, can't wait for the new edition.

I agree 100%.

I bought the book for my first trip back in 96' (i think) and for last years visit it was the first book on my list.

My fave page like Paula was the busy day guide just made a complete difference (we park hopped to MK on the busy day and could not believe it totally mobbed) so that was a total god send.

Also the other nice thing which was really sweet is that i emailed simon directly with some questions and an itenary and he replied and recommended the dis, which is how I found the boards which contributed to planning a wicked holiday last year.

I also wanted to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

And to everyone else on the boards that have helped me and makes planning my holiday part of my holiday.

Hugs to all

T ;)

How do I get hold of this book? It seems like I shouldn't leave home without it??

Thanks

The book is:

The Brits Guide To WDW and Orlando by Simon Veness.

Try WH Smiths or Amazon (online).

Hi there folks. I'm not sure where Amazon get their October 1 date from (they often pluck figures out of the air, it seems to me!), but we are not expecting copies in the warehouse until the end of October and it should be in the shops by November. I think it's pretty unlikely Amazon will have copies to ship out before the end of October either.

Just out of interest Simon, do you, as the author, get to know any pre-order figures. I should imagine yours are pretty high - just about everyone I know who has past copies has already ordered your new one (including me)?

Actually, no, I'm afraid I don't. I let the publisher get on with the techinical side of things and just bother them with editorial matters (which are many!). I know we have sold about 150,000 copies since the first edition (Dec. 1995), but this year's figures have been very up and down and hard to gauge, so the publisher may be opting for a slightly smaller initial print run than last year. But if the demand is there, they will obviously go to a reprint sooner rather than later. Funnily enough, WH Smith have just placed a big order for my cruise book, which is the first time they have showed much interest in it, and Foulsham are now having to organise a reprint of that!

PS: Deb, yes I have just been away - with the family in Devon ;) And I can thoroughly recommend Exmoor Zoo, the Exmoor Safari and Tropiquaria for kids!! Oh, plus shopping at Street near Glastonbury (Janice take note!!)

Tut Tut Simon you should know me better by now - I visited Street, oh ...............at least 3 years ago.........such old news! LOL

;) Did you get to visit the shoe museum whilst you were there? Fascinating ;)

LOL! Not much point me asking about crowd patterns, then!

Actually the crowds were very light - especially on the Exmoor Safari!

LOL, Janice! Might have known you'd been there first (actually, there were a number of shops with a lot of stock in, so you can't have been for a while!). Funnily enough, the shoe museum didn't appeal to us.............!
