This past Friday, we did the Family Magic Tour at the MK. I have to give major props to Kristen the tour guide. She was awesome. I also have to thank Wendy and Peter Pan for riding it's a small world with my girls. Wendy held my 3 year old Lindsay while Peter Pan sat down next to Allie.

Later that day we were eating at the taco place in Adventureland. I needed to go outside to my daughter's stroller and I saw Wendy. I walked up to her and she said "Hello again!". I thanked her again and said Lindsay really loved it. She said "Lindsay's nearby? I must see her!" She proceeds to follow me across Adventureland into the very back of El Pirato y Perica and sits down with my girls for about 5 minutes.

I'm definitely writing a thank you letter to Disney about my tourguide, Peter Pan, and ESPECIALLY Wendy. She was awesome and made my daughter's day.

Do either of you have pictures? I'm friends with Peter and Wendy in WDW.

I do. Hold on. I have to upload them from my camera.

EDIT: Hmm.. my cable is packed somewhere. I'll have to search for it!

How long is the tour, what do they do, and would it be good for DS5 and DS3?

It's 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours and begins at 10am. My 6 and 3 yr old daughters loved it. It's more fun when the parents join in on the fun too.

I think it sounds like fun for my brothers (the younger two).

Thanks! I just called and booked it for our upcoming April trip.

Sounds like it will be fun.

We did the tour in December. It was fantastic! We also had a wonderful Wendy. She put DS4 in her lap during Mickey's Philharmagic (he's not a big fan of 3D movies and was a little nervous). DD6 kept saying that Wendy knew how to take good care of DS since she's used to taking care of John and Michael.

How many people are usually in the tour? What rides do you go on during the tour (I assume it bypasses lines for those rides?) My kids just saw the Peter Pan movie for the first time on the Disney Cruise last month. They would love to go on a ride with Peter and Wendy....that would be so much fun! I can't wait to see their faces!

You only go on one ride. I think 20 is the maximum number of people who can be in it. We went on It's A Small World. I think it depends on the size of the group. Small World makes sense since everybody can fit in the same boat. I've heard of smaller groups going on Peter Pan.

Thanks for the information - I'm waiting for our "180 days out" to book this for DD4! :teeth:

Matt - great story - glad your girls got some real Disney pixiedust: !

We loved the FMT this past July!!!! I would love to do it again!!

You don't have to wait for the 180 day mark! I read on another thread here that tours can be booked a year in advance (didn't know!). Anyway, I called the tour number & was able to book for the first Friday in October!

dmslush, was that the whole group, or just your party? Did you have any kids in your party, and what ages? Because I'd like to try the tour, and I'm 20 (going on 21) because it looks like fun. BTW, I know Wendy in your picture, and she's really nice.

Our Wendy was AWESOME!! Peter wasn't there but that's ok because my DD13 was wearing her Peter Pan hat and SHE got to play Peter with Wendy!!! DS10 was wearing a Hook hat and he got to be Hook!! Both kids got to go on stage and my DD - a MAJOR Peter Pan fan - got to crow with Wendy!! It was truly awesome. My DD7 got to sit next to Wendy in Mickey's Philamagic. That was really great because I was afraid she'd feel left out. Oh DH also got to play a "hairy pirate". It was too much fun. My only regret is that I didn't video tape it
All my kids are still talking about it and would LOVE to do it again.

Thank you so much for posting about this tour...I just called today and booked it for our June trip...plus I scheduled it to do on my dd's princess: birthday...which I know she will just love. Thanks again. :thumbsup2 :sunny: :hyper:

Saw this post, and thought that anyone interested in this tour might be interested in the video I just put up of the tour we took in Sept of 2005.

Nope, it isn't the whole group, just me, dd, dh, and peter and wendy. There were probably about 12 in our group, the kids ranged in age from 2-13. DD was 13 and still loved it. You have to be willing to be goofy and have fun, if you aren't worried about getting embarassed, you'll have a BLAST!!!
