ok is there anyone out there who is a big softy and gets emotional like me. Have you had any florida experiences that made you cry. I have 2, the first was our trip in sept 2001 2 weeks after sept 11th we were in the hard rock cafe when this song came on, the volume went up really high and when it finished all the Americans stood up and cheered and clapped. The song was god bless the USA by Lee greenwood. We managed to buy his cd but every time i listened to it back home i sobbed my heart out!!!!
The second was watching wishes last sept it was my 40th birthday we had been to Dc all day then went to MK for a meal it had been a perfect day so when wishes started my dd and i couldn`t stop crying. :rotfl:

I only have to hear the wishes music and I get all teary - this isn't a irrational pregnancy thing either because I used to be like that before too!! The worst I have ever been though is on our last trip we were there for the switching on of the Osbourne Family lights, I couldn;t speak I was so emotional! All my DH did was laugh at me!! :p

When we were at Seaworld the year after 9/11 they played that Lee Greenwood song at the night-time Shamu show and the trainers were riding round the arena on the whales' backs with huge Stars and Stripes flags. I found it very emotional - they are so hugely patriotic. Shame we've lost that over here.

OMG the moment when the countdown ends for opening outside of the MK and all the confetti and ticker tape comes out, gets me every time! just the thought of all that excitement waiting to happen

Mine will be for different reasons this year :) Im going back to Arnold Palmer Hospital to see the Critical Care Nurses and the chaplain (Mark) who helped us so much 2 years ago, I have a feeling its going to be a very teary reunion.

Whenever I watch a video of Illuminations it makes me well up! I dont know why, I think it just reminds me of how magical it is there and I cant believe Im going back again!

OMG diberry i am glad i wasn`t there for that one i would have been a wreck!!! That reminds me i watched free willy the film after my first wdw visit and cried all through it because it reminded me of shamu. Another thing that gets me is my husband, he always says bye bye see you again,to the parks as we leave for the last time just as we are walking back to the car. So of course i fill up again because i miss the place so much.

The first time I ever saw the castle on the horizon, standing at the front of the ferry and just seeing it emerge from the trees after so many years of waiting.

I always get teary at Wishes, especially the last night I was at MK and I knew it would be a long time before I saw it again (I actually thought it would be two years so this year is a major bonus!) When we were on the ferry heading back to the car on the last night I stood at the back trying to watch the castle for as long as possible with tears in my eyes.

Whenever I see a pic of the castle and think I'm going back I get teary. I'm probably gonna be so bad at the airport next week!

Fantasmic usually does it for me. When Mickey pops up at the end it always brings a lump to my throat.

I got emotional watching fantasmic on our last night, and when I hugged mickey for the first time, and also reading the post about lumpy the heffalump on the main board - little girl wanted one, but parents couldnt find one, and a very kind lady from the boards gave the little girl hers. There were photos of when the little girl first saw the stuffed toy, and then another photo with her kissing the end of his trunk. Anyone else see the post it was wonderful. I sat at my computer at work in floods :rotfl2:

That song at Shamu rocks gets me as well Di!

I basically cry my way around Orlando!!! ;) I especially get teary at Spectromagic and IllumiNations ANd wishes!!!

Just reading your replies has got my eyes stinging. Shamu always does it for me ever since my first visit in 1992 when I was this so called cool 16 year old hiding behind my shades with tears rolling down my cheeks :rotfl:
I always have a tear in my eyes when I leave WDW and you leave the big gateway that says 'See you again real soon'.
I always have a good cry when I watch the Disney planning video and there is this woman who is with her family and she says 'there is something magical for a mam to see her the look on her children's faces'. This is the reason why I am quite happy taking DS as it is these memories that a mother remembers for a lifetime.
Anyway got to dash as I am welling up just reading what I have wrote!

This has to be it for me too and also the first time I saw Fantasmic when all the characters appear on those boats and Mickey's there at the end, my kids wondered what on earth was wrong with me!!

I LOVE your weight-loss ticker Florence. You've done incredibly well - what an inspiration!!!

This year it was the flights for me. We were in Elite First and the crew were really nice, the seats were great and I was on my way to Disney!

I had to keep looking out of the window so my db couldn't see the tears in my eyes.

Florence that is a fantastic well done to you on your hard work. How did you manage to get your ticker to work, I tried to do one but it never moved. Did you have to keep going back to it to update your weight loss?

Yes, I was wondering that - there's no way it can know all by its little self how much weight has been lost.
