Those of you who will be attending the Merry Memeber Mixer on the 7th (or any time, for that matter), be sure to go over to Home Depot and get your green Mickey head paint chips to wear with your username on them! I want to know who all of you are at the Mixer, and at my mini meet! :teeth: :bounce:

Sounds like fun, but my dad is joining us this trip and he already thinks we are too Disney! Hope to see you at the Mixer!

I would love to, but there isn't a Home Depot within 50 miles of where I am. I guess I'll have to introduce myself on the 10th.

do you just ask for these things?

how much do they cost?

The pain chips are in the paint section. The paint brand is the Disney line licensed to Home Depot and the paint chips are in the shape of Mickey. They are self serve and FREE!!

They are free to customers who are interested in buying paint, they are not however free to Home Depot. The last time I was in our local HD, I was told by the manager if there continued to be an abuse of them, such as taking way more than paint being sold, they would soon have to charge for them. He said they were also considering not offering them in the shape of Mickey, just the color choices like other paint lines.

Just passing this on for general info.

For those that don't have a HD or don't want to take them you can simply make a Mickey stencil and make them out of lime green poster board.

I'll be there along with some other DVC friends of ours as close to 3:00 as we can. Then we are off to MVMCP!

See you all on Thursday!!!

My Home Depot's Mickey chips are the shape of a Mickey head mounted on a small square of beige cardstock. So there's a "frame" on them. I was disappointed. I imagine Disers weren't the only ones taking them, though. I can imagine scrapbookers had a heyday with these things!

I'm forgoing the Mickey ears for a lime green Baggillini! Not quite as overt, but it makes a quiet statement! :-)

Thanks for the reminder! We have purchased the Disney line of paints so that is how I knew they were avaialble. But your are right nothing is free, somebody pays for it!

Apparently there are too many DISers in upstate, NY. My local Home Depot is constantly out of "Lime Green Mickeys." They have every other color though. So just watch for the odd looking couple with the Greenish Mickeys on Sunday. (They will most likely be holding a beer.) :rotfl:
No, not the Mickeys, the people!

P.S. Denice - You can peel the Mickeys off of the backing.

You could get just one, any color, to make a stencil and use lime green poster board. After you put your names on them, laminate them and they will last over and over.

True and abuse of anything always hurts everyone. He also said they are considering moving them behind the counter and giving only one of the color needed. As said I am sure scrapbookers, and others are also taking them.

A very kind DISer made some huge foamboard Mickey heads for a meet several weeks ago...I have one. So, that will be hanging from my bag on the 7th...see you all at the Mixer!
