A Big Hand For...

I just received a phone call from a very excited woman. This is unusual for me. I usually get phone calls from very ticked off men about very excited women. I am not sure what that means, it is just an interesting observation. Anyway, on the other end of the phone was none other than Mean Laureen, direct from Walt Disney World. It seems she and Obi-Wan Pinobi were testing out the Walt Disney World transportation system since they were calling from trains, buses. monorails and automobiles. They appear to be having a great time down in the frozen tundra of Florida. The purpose of this call though was to inform me that Lauri had just met with none other than Scoop Sanderson, our beloved pin clown and all-around great guy. He is wise beyond his years as he observed Lauri and all that she has done for pin trading. He called her up and awarded her a 2002 Continuing the Tradition pin! I would like to publicly congratulate Lauri for her award and ask everyone to electronically shake her hand and tell her how proud we all are of her. I can think of no one more deserving than her. She goes out of her way to help fellow pin traders and collectors get started in this great hobby. She is by far the nicest mean person I know. Way to go Lauri!

I agree no one deserves it more... you go girl. This was Lauri’s day and will from this day forth be known as Lauri day here in Florida

Congratulations, Lauri! Last spring Lauri & Matthew sent me a pin to complete a set. They sent it with the understanding that I would send them a pin from my upcoming trip. When I got back I emailed them. Lauri didn't remember that I owed them a pin. I had to keep say, "Yes, I DO owe you a pin!" Thanks & congrats again!
