A better way to do it...

We are staying at CBR for 8 nights. Having a great time.

We bought room-only, and added tickets through WDW directly. A few days later they increased prices on the tickets. Our group of 10 wanted to add hoppers, and the cost is not just $69+ tax per hopper, but also whatever the cost difference was between the MYW 7day tix (old) to MYW 7day tix (new).

They really should reach out to anybody who has resort reservations and give them a window (even a short window of a few days) to make all final upgrades to tickets before a scheduled, paid-for trip. Essentially the parties are in contract and should be sharing information.

It would just be the right thing to do.

Curious...did you use your first day of the tickets and go to guest services to add hoppers, or did you do it yourself on the website?

Completely agree!

Wondered the same. There used to be a way to preserve your ticket price and only pay the upgrade, but I wonder if that has changed with the latest ticket changes.

That's why it's better to buy discount tickets from an authorized reseller. If you had, the price would have been bridged. You also would have saved $25 or so per ticket.

Not if you buy them directly from Disney, unless they're part of a package. It's been the case for at least several years.

You mean if you buy tickets only from Disney, the "bridging" effect of using the ticket first didn't work? Yuck, I've only ever done a package or offsite tickets + off site lodging so I didn't know how it worked with Disney non-pkg tickets. So strange that the tickets you paid a premium for (maybe, compared to UT and others) would have the least beneficial upgrade policy. :sad1:
