A beach in Nassau?

We've been to Nassau before and saw the straw markets. The cruise that we were on back then allowed us access to one of the hotels' facilities and we spent most of the day in the pool and on the beach there.

I'm wondering if there are any good beaches near the dock in Nassau since I think my kids would mostly enjoy just swimming in that beautiful ocean.

Any ideas or suggestions on this?

i don't know how close to the dock this is but we're going over to the wyndam crystal palace and casino resort to use the pool and beach there. heard alot of good things about this place and i sent away for their brochure and it looks nice.

I second the Wyndam Crystal Palace! I couldn't afford Atlantis with a party of 9 (it would have been over $400.00 for two rooms) My kids had a ball there. The beach is beautiful, the pool is great with a big waterslide, swim up bar, watersports, casino, tiki huts and loungers on the beach and it's free. The cab ride is $5.00 p.p. (same as Atlantis) and it only takes about 10 minutes from the dock.

Hi Rachel-

There is no charge for anyone off the street to use the facilities at the Wyndham Crystal Palace? Do you just go straight to the beach or pool area? Do you have to register?

As long as you have a "cruise ID" (Key to the World Card) they let you use all of their facilities. All but the towels. If you are not a hotel guest you have to rent them for $5.00. Just bring your own. It's a really good time. You don't have to register. Just walk through the casino, out the back doors and enjoy. A few people that have e-mailed me for info actually called the hotel to confirm. When I got off of the boat I asked the cab driver and he also confirmed that the Wyndam Crystal Palace allows cruisers to use their beach. HAVE FUN!
