We are going to be in DW from 11/30/09-12/7/09. It seems that *maybe* free dining could be offerred to card holders during the time. I have a few ?s to find out if it's worth it for me to sign up for the card..

1) do you have to use the card to pay for the trip? how does that work? We do NOT want to use it to pay b/c through a very unique sales program Dh has a work, he gets points put on a card that can be use through disney. we have to use that to pay for the trip since it makes the trip free :cool1:

2) if the answer to #1 is NO you don' thave to use the card to pay to qualify for free dining... is there a period of time you have to be a cardholder before you could get the free dining? if I signed up now and FD was offerred, would we qualify?

Should I get the card?? :)

1) I believe you do have to use the card to pay for your package, but it still may be worth getting anyway for future use, especially if you go very often.

You may only have to pay the deposit with the Visa. I am not sure about the whole thing. I have paid with multiple types of payments although mostly with the Disney Reward cards from that Visa.

Have you considered whether you can build up enough rewards? Probably not now, but if you do decide you will be regular visitors to Disney I can't imagine why you wouldn't sign up. There is no annual fee and we often pay for our dining or tickets with our rewards. It really starts to add up. My DH goes on business trips so we can rack up some costs on our CC. We even put our whole DVC purchase on Disney Visa and got all the reward points for our next trip.

I am 100% sure you have to pay at least the $200 deposit with your Disney Visa Card, and you must have it when you call. I did it last year. I got free dining for the whole week of Thanksgiving! I did not have a card, called and applied and got my card about 2 days after the code came out. Disney Visa even overnighted the card to me at no charge! Then, I called and made a $200 payment with the card (I already had my reservation). Saved me $850!!! I am praying for another discount this year!

Last year, we did the free visa dining Dec.14-19. I paid the deposit with my Disney visa, but my mom paid for the trip with here credit card. So, no we did not have to pay for it with our disney visa. Last year, We had to get a room only for dec. 13, because the free dining was not good until the 14th. Hope your dates will be included.

You only have to pay the $200 deposit with your Disney Visa....the balance can be paid in any other way you choose :goodvibes. You would be eligible for any Disney Visa offers as soon as you're approved for the card ;).

I got the offer today for Free Dining... this is the dates offered...

8/23/09-10/1/09 10/2/09-11/24/09 11/29/09-12/17/09

It was a pin code. I already had our room booked so I just applied the pin... however the requirements according to the paper are booking a 4 night/5 day package.

I don't know when they will put it in a code form, but I imagine that it won't be far behind. Hope that this is handy.

Is this a Disney Visa deal or something else?

I called about a month ago and spoke with a CM about this. She said that the entire package has to be put on your Disney Visa. Now, she may have been mistaken, but she said that last year, those were the rules. She said that if you want to go ahead and pay on your package month by month using a different method, you can do so. Then when the offer comes out and you call to apply the offer to your ressie, they will refund you what you have already paid via the method that you paid and then you have to put the entire package on your Visa. I also thought that you only had to put the $200 deposit on your Visa, but according to her, you have to put the entire package on there....:confused3

Ooo, is this seriously the Disney Visa offer?? If so we are going on free dining then! Yay!

I went last year on Visa free dining, and we only paid our deposit with the Visa. We did not pay the balance with the Visa.

As for the offer above, I am pretty sure that is a pin code. No Visa offer has been released.

Also doing the December Disney Visa discount dance... I am also one of the ones that never seem to get a PIN so not holding my breath for that...

What if we've already paid for the trip? Can we take $200 off and put in on the Disney Visa and qualify for free dining? I've already paid the trip in full on DH's sales card.

This is all hypothetical of course, who knows if FD will come out for the time we are there :)

Last year, Disney Visa free dining for dates in Oct/Nov/Dec was released on September 18. Since that has only happened once, no one knows for sure if it will be released again, but many of us are sure hoping it will, and we are also hoping it will be offered earlier. I don't think, however, it will be offered before the deadline for the general public to purchase free dining in Aug/Sept, which is July 26. There is also a room only discount for Disney Visa (Aug/Sept dates) that can be booked by Aug. 8. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the free dining will come out shortly after the window for that deal closes.

We got the PIN and booked for late Oct in mid June.
One key change to the offer from last year was that if you stay at a value resort you get the Quick Service plan, Mod and up gets the regular DDP.

Also rooms were somewhat limited for us, I checked only Mods and Deluxe. We did not get our first choice resort.

So either they released a very limited number of rooms with the PIN offer, or they are sending this PIN out a lot and booking up blocks of rooms.

I hope they release more rooms and make it a Visa offer!

I am pretty sure the most recent pin includes regular dining for values.

Not sure what your laughing at... :confused3 But the poster above is correct about the Quick service dining plan.

This is most likely the PIN she was referring to. This came out around early summer.

Big kids” get little kids’ prices!
Get a great deal on a 4-Night/4-Day package
including accommodations, Theme Park tickets and a Disney Dining Plan.

Select Disney Value Resort

$ 471 *

per adult, based on adult double occupancy in a standard room at a select Disney Value Resort. For stays most nights 10/2/09–11/24/09. Includes Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan!Click for dining plan details. That’s a savings of $121!

The other side of the offer said if you stay at a Moderate you got the regular dining plan.

Now the GENERAL PUBLIC free dining out now includes the Disney dining plan (regular) for all levels of rooms. This of course is during the Sept-Oct 3 time frame. The PIN above is for the October 2 to November 24. Which is what we are discussing in the post here. There may have been other PIN codes, but this one did exist for just QSDP for the Values. I am hoping for a Disney VISA one for November.
