A ?? About St Augustine Tourism

In three weeks we hit WDW again but not before a stop in Savannah and St Augustine. In SA there's a tour in a shuttle-like contraption pulled by what looks like a steam locomotive. We'll need to do a tour of some sort as we have only one day there before Epcot, does anyone know if this thing is a tour in which you board, hit all the stops and then you're done, or is there a loop, and you get on and off where you like, re-boarding as you wish? Hope this question is clear, we'd be inclined to do this if we can go as we please after paying a fee as opposed to being carted around to 20 some stops, not all of which we will care about.

There's the green trolley and the red trolley. Both of them have a loop of stops, and you can get on and off as you wish. We prefer the green trolley.

We also enjoyed the trolley tour around St. Augustine. We took the entire circle, figured out what we wanted to see, and got on and off on a second trip around.

The main thing I remember is that the Fountain of Youth is next to a gas station. I was expecting something more.

The entrance maybe, but the Fountain of Youth has an entire archaeological park with it. There is also a street next to the parking lot for the Fountain of Youth that is lined with old oak trees dripping with Spanish moss that form an arch over the street.

The Fountain of Youth is not huge, but it is quite a bit more than just a stop next to a gas station... there are gardens with peacocks, the fountain itself with different artifacts, an informational movie, Indian weapons demonstrations, a gift shop (of course), etc.

We love St. Augustine & visit nearly every year!
