A 9 & 11 year old in a stroller?

Let me guess though, those of you who have no problem complaining about this, see no issue with the 400+ pound adults that ride around all day on scooters right? And no, I'm not talking about anyone that is handicapped, or has a medical issue.
Nope. I find that ridiculous too.

Realistically, I don't care if you push your 25 year old around in a stroller. It doesn't impact me other than I'm going to look at you and say "that's nuts".

But I always get a kick out if these threads because there are always people who say "I don't notice" or "I don't judge". Realistically we are all noticing and judging every minute of our lives. The brain processes everything it takes in, in some fashion. The processing may include "there's a 15 year old in a stroller who cares" or it may be "there's a 15 year old in a stroller oh my god that's ridiculous" but you're noticing. And coming to some kind of conclusion.

The bigger issue here is the infantilizing of children who shouldn't be infantilized. Because usually a parent pushing an too-old-to-be-in-a-stroller child in a stroller is probably infantilizing them in other ways too. It's not a "we only do this at Disney" thing. And that moved us into normal child development (emotional) and what happens when that doesn't happen.

Ohhhh, if it does die, then another will rise...

I guess I see too many other real issues in this world to care about how another parent chooses to do Disney. (as long as it doesn't direcly affect me) And this thing, old or not, is how many pages now.

Does anybody here watch the news?
Have their own disabled child?
Or just not have anything better to do with their time?

This one. And I assume that's why you posted too! ;)

The OP asked what we thought...so, here's my thought. My now almost 21 y/o dd would have been appalled if I asked her to get into a stroller after the age of 4 or 5. She went to WDW for the first time when she was 5...walked the entire time. If she started to get pooped, we stopped for a bit. We didn't stay out until 1am...we went back to the resort and went to bed at a somewhat reasonable hour.
If a parent wants to push their 11 y/o child in a stroller, have at it. It's up to them, but not me! Having a little one sometimes forces us to slow down and appreciate the little things in life, rather than running around, like a chicken with it's head cut off, trying to fit every single thing in!!

Well said!

I still can't fathom an 11 year (healthy) that would not be appalled and embarrassed about sitting in a stroller!! Actually any kid over 6 or 7.

I think there's something wrong with those parents - seriously! Like you said - if the kids can't keep up why I earth are they insisting on such a rigorous touring schedule. Especially - I'm guessing here - they most likely have been several times and will be back.

My question still comes back to, how do you know if the child is healthy or not. Are you just assuming that because the child looks healthy, they are? Are you only judging the parents that admit that their children use a stroller and have no medical conditions? I am not trying to be sarcastic, but really want to know as people keep saying if the child has a medical condition, it is okay. I do not make my son wear a label telling everyone that he has an unseen illness.
