our ice comes from the McCain porkbarrel era to provide clean water for residents....down the street,,,, 3 arizonia blocks, 6 oregn blocks is a massive water/ice station. paved,shaded....they sell motel ice for 2.00 for 20 pounds....I bring it home and sepeate into smaller managage bags. when frozen , a rubber mallet is applied to the bag and out come crushed ice thru the opening of the reserved bags I save the very fine crushed ice for once a week Pennsylvania egg nog . in tiny goblets the liquor is poured over the crushed ice. slow slip by straw. last forever. so crushed ice is the better resource for us as our fridge was made when John was a freshman senator .
