We're heading to BWI the 3rd of August '03 which happens to be my daughter's 9th birthday. Any ideas of how to make her birthday extra special? (In other words, we arrive ON her birthday!)

As much as she loves Disney, I think she's going to think not having a party at home with friends and all the trimmings is going to be a bummer. I want to think of something really neat to do for her.

Thanks!
Lori

Last year we took our son to BCV for his 9th birthday. We surprised him the night before we left. This was the only trip that we flew because we didn't have as much time as we normally do. We ate at HDD for his birthday (they ask about all the birthdays and anniversaries and ask people to stand up). We also did Ohana. We got him a birthday button at MK (City Hall) and AK (Guest Relations).

This year we are surprising him again, but this time we are going to GF on the FTP.

We still had his birthday party after we returned. We may do a movie with his friends at Tinseltown after we get back since he wants to see Spy Kids 3.

You can arrange to have a cake and balloons delivered to your room. Also, sometimes (not always) if you mention to the CM who checks you into your room that it's your DD's birthday, they may also send a surprise to your room. (This does not always happen, I think it depends on the CM, how booked the resort is, etc. So if you really want to do something, don't leave it to chance, go ahead and pre-arrange something!).

If you happen to be in the MK the day of her birthday, stop by town hall and they will give her a birthday button to wear.

Another nice idea would be to surprise her with a character breakfast or a nice dinner in the park (you can arrange to have a cake brought to your table if you request it at the time you make your PS ressies).

Hope this helps! We are planning our DD's 8th birthday celebration in the parks, and these were some of the ideas given to us. Les us know how you decide to celebrate, and how it works out. Have a great time!

Hi Lori.

Any ideas of how to make her birthday extra special? (In other words, we arrive ON her birthday!)

One option would be to take her to the ice-cream social held every afternoon at The Land pavilion in Epcot. It wasn't crowded when we were there last year. My son received a lot of interaction with the characters - including The Big Cheese himself!

No matter what, your daughter is going to be at WDW on her birthday. What could be better than that?...

Hi Lori,
We will also be celebrating my son's birthday on 8/3 he will be turning 6...we have decided to surprise him with a dinner at chef mickeys that day...it is his favorite place to eat ... Be sure to mention it when you check in at your hotel... we stayed at boardwalk for his 3 birthday and he got a basket full of chocolates left in the room...it was great

We too will be celebrating bdays! when we arrive it's my 3 yo dd's bday and the day we leave in my 6 yo ds's bday!
