I have read about people finding 99 cent rain ponchos....I have been searching high and low and haven't been able to find any. Where are you finding these? The closest I can find is a $4.99 one with Dora on it at Target. I would prefer plain ones. Thanks

Our local Dollar Tree store has a two pack of disposable rain ponchos for $1.

For our last trip I found mine at a dollar store. It wasn't the Dollar Tree I think it was called Dollar Deals. They even had adult and child sizes. We had to use them on one of the days....they worked great.

Target has them in the camping section for .89 each. They come in red, green or blue (but they are still kind of transparent).

I've gotten them at various dollar stores at two for a buck. I've also forgotten them and realized it while driving to Orlando, and we just hit a Walgreens on the way. They're not a buck at Walgreens, more like two, but still a heck of a lot better than the eight to $10 they sell 'em for in the different parks/shops.

I have found them at Harmon's as well.

My 99 cent store only has snap-up rain COATS and they're sort of bulky. They don't look very disposable (though, at 99 cents, I suppose they clearly are). Has anyone used these instead of the ponchos? I'd be interested in hearing people's preferences in terms of poncho vs. raincoat. I also looked in my local Target and didn't see the 89 cent ponchos. I guess now I'll be driving over to the next town to see if Dollar Tree has the 2 for a buck type you all are talking about. Does it say anything about me that I'm obsessing over this already and my trip isn't even until August? :)

I bought ours a couple of weeks ago at Big Lots for 50 cents each. Dollar General also has them for about $1. :thumbsup2

Look in the camping section at Target - that's where they're located. They also have them in the camping section at stores like K-Mart. Or try a sporting goods store.

I found child sized ponchos at Wal-Mart today. They were $1 for a pack of 2. They were located way back in the camping section.

Yeah, that's where I looked, but the pickings were pretty sparse all the way around, so I think perhaps they were just out of stock that day. I will look again next time I'm there. I guess I could look in the camping section of Wal-Mart, too, if I ever get over there. Fer cryin' out loud, I have until August and am not really sure why I feel as if I must be completely packed by, say, next week. Heh!

I stopped by the dollar tree on my way home from work and viola! they had the 2 for $1 rain ponchos. MUCH better than the 99 cent rain coat at the other place. I bought three packs, but suspect I may need a few more. Sooo...how many of these would you typically bring, per person, for a week-long trip to WDW? Will we need one every single day (in August, after all)?

I found a clear one for the sweetpea to take on a camping trip this weekend for $.89. I found it at Walmart in the camping section.

I've found them at WalMart and Target in the camping sections and also at Big Lots, General Dollar stores, and Dollar Tree. That reminds me I need to buy some more for our trips.

DH and I bring one for each of us for a trip. They eventually tear up after a few weeks of use, but we're not really rough on them. I suppose just to be safe, you could pack one or two extra (or however many you think would appropriate for the size of your party) and just keep them in a suitcase in your hotel room in case one you're using tears up.

I still have some from our trip in Feb '05 that we never opened. Now August will be totally different weatherwise. I think once you use them they are hard to fold up as small again. So pack extra if you don't want to worry about tearing and folding up!

How much are the Disney ones? My Target only had nice ones, adult for $9.99 and child for $7.99, which I thought was kind of high. Are Disney's about that price? My kids, of course, would much prefer some with Mickey on them, and if they're about the same price, I'll just go with the Disney ones.

I think the Disney ones are about $8 each. We've used the 2/$1 ones from Dollar Tree and I just recently saw Dollar General has a more substantial version for $5. I think I'm going to get those for next trip since it was windy the day we had to wear them and the cheaper ones really didn't do the trick that well. The $5 ones look like they'll fold up easier too.

I bought ours at the Walmart in the camping section. They were like 99 cents a piece. They are in little tiny plastic envelopes. Once you use them, you can't fold them back up again.
