Gil had 49 items yesterday, and they didn't even blink. They get a lot of ebayers at our post office. We try to not come at 6:45, though LOL.

You can also get free delivery confirmation on Priority Mail by going through the USPS website to print your labels, with or without paying for the postage online.

I couldn't use the USPS website for postage. I have some kind of printer conflict going on that I can't figure out. So it was easier for me to do it through Paypal. Plus, I like being able to use my Paypal balance to pay for it.

If I did the on-line postage thing and still decided to have the packages dropped off at the PO, is there a special area for that?

You should ask the next time you are there. My PO has a side area of the countertop next to the last window that is used for drop offs that already have postage on them. It gives me a great feeling to just waltz right in and drop my boxes off while the rest of the line looks at me enviously and wonders why I'm so special. :teeth:

Chereya :)

I bet I know just who you mean. There are two gals brought up to fill in while one of the other gals is in Disney. She was very curt to the person she was waiting on and I thought snotty to another a couple days ago. Our regulars (Sissy, Gayle, Aimee (Hi Aimee, hope you are having a ball at Disney :wave2: ), Kathy (who is also from DT and just there sometimes), Ginny) are ALWAYS nice. Their names, besides on their tags, are on your receipts. You can do drop off depending on the weight of the package. Otherwise you have to wait in line. I can't remember the weight, even though I just heard one of the gals saying it. I like to see my stuff get scanned..and they also put the zip codes in for my receipt on all my first class stuff, so the line is no problem...especially since it's usually my husband standing in it LOL!

I think we got there around 5:30 - and the girl (young thing) said that was "perfect timing".. :) There's one lady there that wasn't too pleasant the last time I went.. She was working last night too, but luckily I didn't get her..

I've been known to do the Paypal stuff, and go to my 24 hour post office automated counter and just put them all in the HUGE bin all at once.

If its something small, like a memory chip I just put it in my mailbox, prepaid and the carrier takes it.

I also walk way ahead of everyone in line with my prepaid and put it on a counter as well.

It takes it right out of Paypal so its great.

Hi,
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!!
One thing I like is the money comes out of my Paypal account. This is my Ebay money anyway so I am not dipping into the household money to pay for shipping. I tend to bring them to my PO as it is only 1 1/2 miles from my house but boy it sure saves me TONS of time at the window- its hi how are you-hand them the packages and say they are all set. Then I am off to do other things.
I ship about 50-150 packages a week and 95% I use paypal.

Is it the one who asks what is in EVERY single package - even after I've told her that ALL of it is media mail?

I've not found that to be a problem, but I seldom ship media. When I do, I have a code I write where the postage will go..bk for book, etc.
They have had a real big problem with people sending the wrong items media and so they have been told to crack down on it. You really only need to tell them book with no advertising, etc. Their names are on your receipt, so you can tell which one it was :)

It shouldn't be a problem even if everything is media, if you just put a couple of intitials under where the strip of postage would go. We use that area for different kinds of notes. If you have the mailman pick them up along with a priority package you won't even run into the problem. The people to blame for you having to be asked, is the people who try to ship everything media. I've been there when others have been "caught" or sometimes, when they just didn't realize it, and once asked, now they know.

Aimee is usually the person who trains others and she is more apt to be more careful..although all of them try to remember to ask.

I am very fond of all the gals at that post office..most have been there for many years I have been shipping and have lots of patience when needed (except for that gal from downtown..no patience that one LOL!). They really are just doing their job as they should. One is a buyer of mine, and a couple are on this board.

Well if you seldom ship media, then yep - it wouldn't be a problem! LOL

Everything I've shipped in the past few weeks has been media.. The thought crossed my mind that it might be a "fraud" problem - but evidently, she's the only one who takes it seriously enough to question every single package.. I'll have to check my receipt the next time I have her - then go back another time and find out when she's NOT there.. :rotfl:
